The Greater Anna Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade will begin at noon which preceded the Van Alstyne Chamber of Commerce Parade at 2 pm. Not to be outdone, the Howe Area Chamber of Commerce will hold their annual Christmas Parade beginning at 4:30 pm. Santa will bring Mrs. Claus along for the ride in the three parades.

Motions in Dance, Pride of Howe Marching Band, Encompass Health, Keep Howe Beautiful, Oliver's Souvenir Shop, Community Bible Fellowship, as well as individuals Heather Warden, Tabi Klopfenstein, and Jeff Salisbury. Of course, the Howe Police Department will begin the parade and the Howe Fire Department will end it.

Floats that have so far registered at HoweChamber.com are King's Trail Cowboys Church, Grayson County Sheriff's Office, Design on Farmington, Howe Riding Club, Chill Out Shaved Ice, Fierce

The route will begin at Howe Middle School and proceed north on Highway 5 making a trip through downtown and back to the middle school via Haning St.

Virginia Carter 1930-2018 Funeral services for Virginia Nell Carter was held at 2:00 PM Sunday, December 2 at Waldo Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 10:00 AM Monday at West Hill Cemetery. The family received friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Saturday at Waldo Funeral Home. Mrs. Carter, 88, passed away Monday, November 26 at Christus Good Shepherd Hospital in Longview. Virginia was born August 28, 1930 in Gunter to the late Gus and Effie (Gaskin) Gaddie. On September 18, 1948 Virginia and Paul Carter were married in Sherman. They were married 66 years when Paul passed away in November 2014. Mrs. Carter worked with Paul at the insurance agency in the 70’s. She was a talented artist and enjoyed cooking for people. She was a longtime member of the Western Heights Church of Christ, former Board Member of Community National Bank, and former member of the Shakespeare Club, the Red Hat Club, PTA, City Council PTA, SMA Singers, and Business and Professional Women.
