Lady Bulldogs clinch playoff berth with big week

Emily Sanders homers in the win over Gunter. Photo by Sharla Ross The Lady Bulldogs (20-2-1) beat Gunter on Tuesday 11-5 at Gunter High School in seven innings. Howe scored four runs in the fifth on a fielder's choice, an RBI single by Peyton Streetman, an error, and a passed ball. Streetman racked up three RBIs on three hits for Howe. Madisyn Hargrove recorded the win for the Lady Bulldogs even though she allowed five runs over seven innings. Hargrove struck out five, walked three and gave up nine hits.

The Lady Bulldogs brought home one run in the third inning, and matched that run total in the fourth. In the third, Howe scored on a solo home run by Emily Sanders. On Friday, the Lady Bulldogs beat S&S 8-2 in seven innings at S&S High School after a five-run explosion in the seventh inning.
