Blooming and Evergreen Shrubs for the Home Landscape

An extended drought and then record breaking rainfall have taken a toll on many homeowners’ landscapes Many people need to replace struggling or dead landscape plants Before selecting your replacement plants or designing new beds, you might just want to attend this program

A Horticultural Specialist from Chambersville Tree Farms will be presenting on landscape design, evergreen and blooming shrub selection, companion planting, and much more Also, a portion of the program will address Rose Rosette Virus; a disease threatening our rose industry and personal landscapes

Gifted and Talented go on field trip

For our yearly third and fourth grade Gifted and Talented field trip we went to "The Green Acres Nursery" in Van Alstyne Students were given great tips and plant advice by GeorgeAnna The students were shown where to read descriptions on the different plants available This helped them decide which would be best for them to plant to take home There are so many flowers to choose from it was a difficult decision But Allie, Autumn, Talan and Jake chose several plants to put in their planting pots The pictures show how beautiful their flower pots turned out!

It was a wonderful experience and all the employees are very kind, helpful and knowledgeable about their plants

I want to say a special thank you to Corey for allowing George Anna to help us today

Next the students enjoyed a great pizza lunch at
