Lady Bulldogs beat S&S, 65-33; lose to Pottsboro again

Pottsboro and Howe is always a fight for victory. Enterprise photo by Michelle Carney On Tuesday night, the Lady Bulldogs improved to 20-6 on the season and 9-1 in district play with a 65-33 win over S&S in Sadler. It took the girls an entire first period to get things under control as S&S trailed only 17-16 entering the second period. However, Howe dominated the second with a 24-2 run to head to the half leading 4118. Howe would cruise to the victory in the second half by winning each of the periods. Alissa Smith led the Lady Bulldogs with 17 points and also pulled down five rebounds. Riley Harvey scored 15. Other scorers were Peyton Streetman (10), Darci Foster (9), Holly Hawkins (3),
Jaylyn Mosse (3), Hunter Brockelman (3), Madisyn Hargrove (2), Landry Rhoten (2) and Payton Griffin (2). The win was number 347 for Howe Head Coach Derek Lands.

On Friday night, the girls had the same scenario as in many recent match ups with Pottsboro. Howe led for the majority of the game, but failed to bring home the victory. Pottsboro closed the game late and took the 54-48 win back to Cardinal territory. The loss moves Howe to 20-7 on the season and Pottsboro moves to 25-3. Both teams have clinched playoff spots.
