The Howe Youth Baseball organization has set the first signup date as Jan. 30 from 10 am to 2 pm at Charles R. Thompson Gymnasium at Howe Middle School. The sign-ups will also take place the following weeks at the same time and same place. Peggy's Porch will have some baseball pants and cleats available for free to those in need or want to swap. Parents are encouraged to bring their items from years past that are still in good shape, but may be a little too small for their player. Austin College’s Dean’s List has been announced for Fall Term 2015. The Dean’s List recognizes the top 20 percent of students taking a minimum of three graded, full-credit courses. For Fall Term 2015, the Dean’s List recognizes 254 individuals. Dylan Guthrie, a graduate of Howe High School and son of Graham Guthrie of Van Alstyne, Texas and Veronica Guthrie of Howe, Texas was a member on that list. “We congratulate the students on the Dean’s List and commend them on this accomplishment, especially given the rigor of the Austin College curriculum and the quality of their colleagues,” said Dr. Sheila Amin Gutiérrez de Piñeres, vice president for Academic Affairs and dean of the faculty. “To be named to the Dean’s list evidences students’ commitment to academic excellence and is an honor for the students and their families.”
