The menu is extensive but Nelson says that he's not trying to make a million dollars. "People think that $7.49 is expensive, but smash patties are expensive. We're the only ones in town that serve them." said Nelson. a He says that he's not cut any corners with product even though his distributors have tried to get him to save some money on certain products. Nelson says that he wants to give Texoma the best burger that they've ever had and that doesn't happen by cutting corners. T.J. "People that I've met in small towns have more swagger." says Nelson. "They grew up with the same group of friends, went to church on Sunday." Nelson says he wants to help and mentor kids
that are like he was when he was in high school. He wants to reach out to the principal in Howe and hire kids that might be having a hard time. By opening up Texas Real Burger, Nelson says he's as proud of his food as anyone could be. "I'm proud of my homemade pimento cheese and and my garlic aioli." said Nelson. The grand opening of Texas Real Burger was on Friday, April 24. Even though there was a large rainstorm, Nelson says that it was a great success. The location of Texas Real Burger is located in the building where Fuzzy's Taco's most recently occupied at 1707 Texoma Parkway in Sherman. "I just want to be in people's rotation of places to eat." said Nelson.
