photos by Sharla Ross The Howe Lady Bulldogs captured their fourth overall district championship and second outright district championship in school history. It's also the program's first since 2010. Not only is this a great accomplishment, but considering the team has five starters that are either freshman or sophomores mean that this train could keep on rolling for several years to come. The girls are the number one seed out of District 10-3A after a back and forth see-saw game with Pilot Point on Saturday night. Pilot Point took the early lead, 1-0 in the top of the first. In the bottom of the inning Peyton

Streetman sacrificed home Erin Blackburn to tie the game after one. There was no more scoring until the fourth inning when Streetman struckout, but was safe on the drop third strike. She then lured Pilot Photo by Loretta Anderson Point to make a throwing error which allowed her to score and give Howe the lead 2-1 after four. A two-run homer by Pilot Point gave them the lead 3-2, however Stubblefield gave Howe the lead again, 5-3 with some clutch hitting in the bottom of the sixth. The Lady Bearcats had the bases loaded in the top of the seventh but couldn't get the big hit from the girl who had previously homered.
