Hire&Rental

INDUSTRY NEWS

FEBRUARY 2022

Innovators connecting systems A tech partnership has hastened the digital future of rental. The first question clients have for technology innovators in the hire market is “will it work with my existing platforms?” The key to successful software integration is in collaboration, creating outcomes greater than the sum of each part. Two exciting companies in the hire and rental industry have combined their powers to create even more innovative, cutting edge solutions that customers like working with. Point of Rental and Teletrack first started working together in 2020 with a mutual client, Botany Access. The market-leading innovations between the two include deep API integrations with Point of Rental’s rental ERP Syrinx and Teletrack’s cloud based telematics system. Teletrack was founded by Cade Robinson and Alex Stewart, both with backgrounds in understanding the challenges of managing large fleets and the technology required to keep them under control. Their Australian owned, operated and developed telematics and job site safety management solutions go much further than basic tracking. Teletrack is an enterprise solution provider, but has the speed and nimbleness to rapidly create new, customised functionality to the cloud based platform on a daily basis. Their expert knowledge, professional service and customised approach mean that regaining control of your equipment and making data-driven decisions has never been easier.

Teletrack’s technology

Teletrack’s technology has disrupted the market by ensuring the safe management of job sites, and the protection of equipment. This means fewer accidents and damages, as well as full visibility and control maintained at all times. Industry leaders have found measurable benefits and return on investment by deploying Teletrack’s services largely for these reasons. Safe job site management is enforced by a smart phone based pre-start program, mechanically integrated into machinery and equipment to immobilise until the operator’s competencies and the machine’s condition has been checked and verified. Geofencing, remote

immobilisation and usage tracking are all additional to the groundbreaking pre-start system, enabling Teletrack’s rental partners many wins in becoming exclusive machinery providers for job sites.

Point of Rental service integrations

Point of Rental and Teletrack have partnered to bring data to job sites in order for operators and safety managers to manage compliance. An AEMPv2 integration allows telematics data from the asset captured by the Teletrack system, such as location and asset hours, to upload into the Point of Rental Syrinx system. Syrinx also includes a maintenance module, so the service team will be fully aware of any assets approaching the need for a service or three monthly inspections. The service history is then accessible via the Teletrack QR code. Teletrack’s directors believe that Syrinx’s highly functional system pairs perfectly with the Teletrack platform to fully digitise and automate all aspects for rental companies. So sure is this belief that dedicated software engineering resources and funding have been allocated towards bringing their vision to life this year.
