JLG grows Compact Crawler Boom range

The new X26JP Plus is a feature-packed addition to the team.

JLG’s range of Compact Crawler Booms has expanded following the release of the new X26JP Plus model, bringing the total number of machines on offer to four.

Ideal for a broad scope of applications including arboriculture work, civil, construction and general maintenance duties, the X26JP Plus features the many benefits of JLG’s smaller compact crawler booms, with the added horizontal reach of up to 17.75m.

The X26JP Plus also offers an impressive overall platform height of 23.60m (25.60m working height), and a 230kg unrestricted platform capacity, which provides the ability to accommodate a two-person crew and their equipment.

The X26JP Plus platform features SkyGuard™ as standard – SkyGuard™ is an innovative JLG proprietary system that automatically stops all machine functions and temporarily reverses them to what they were prior to the system being activated.

The benefits of the new machine continue with auto levelling outriggers with integrated lifting lugs – these increase stability and ease of set-up, allowing the model to be operated on slopes of up to 16° and to climb grades of up to 28 per cent. Other features include auto cut-out which actuates when the machine is out of level; emergency descent systems and an envelope management loadsensing system.

Despite this impressive functionality, the X26JP Plus still maintains its compact dimensions with a 0.99m wide undercarriage (retracted) and stowed width of just 1.43m (with platform), ensuring the machine remains easy to transport to jobs, is manoeuvrable around work sites and remains compact when stored.

Equipped with non-marking rubber tracks, the machine’s weight is evenly distributed across the ground, minimising the likelihood of damage when it’s used on delicate surfaces such as paving, paths and lawned areas.

The X26JP Plus comes with a diesel or electric engine

The X26JP Plus is available with two power sources that can be selected depending on operator preference or application requirements. The diesel option sees adoption of a modern T4F (Stage 5) Kubota D902 engine which produces 16.1kW (21.6cHP), alternatively the operator can opt for the 100Ah / 83V Lithium-ion electric engine.

A major benefit of Lithium-ion power is its quiet operation, meaning this machine is more suitable for use in noise sensitive situations such as residential areas or parks.

JLG Industries Marketing and Product Manager – ANZ, Arron Cooper, said the new X26JP Plus further broadened the appeal of JLG’s already popular Compact Crawler Boom range.

“The X26JP Plus joins existing X13JP, X17JP and X20JP models in the range, allowing us to offer our customers platform height options spanning from 11.30 to 23.60 metres, and therefore allowing us to cater to a wider range of applications,” Arron said.

“Along with the added reach, the X26JP Plus still offers the compact dimensions that many operators are looking for in a Compact Crawler Boom, especially when transporting to and from a job or when negotiating job sites with tighter footprints.

“The controls and functions of the X26JP Plus mirror those of the smaller models in the range, that means it’s easy-to-use and high on features – for operators, it also makes for a seamless transition between all machines within the JLG Compact Crawler Boom range.

“JLG is looking to further expand the model line-up in early 2022 with the arrival of the X33JP Plus, which will broaden the range’s appeal even more,” Arron said.

While similar-sized machines are available in the market, the X13J, X17J, X20J and X26JP Plus models are the only ones that are offered by a major supplier, meaning owners and operators can rely on the superior back-up and support they’ve come to know from JLG.

With strategically-located branches throughout Australia and New Zealand as well as a fleet of field service vehicles, JLG’s service and support extends well beyond both countries’ major metropolitan centres to more remote rural and regional areas.

For greater convenience, JLG also offers scheduled maintenance programs. These packages can be customised to suit the application and customer requirements, effectively transferring the responsibility of the maintenance process to JLG for a competitivelypriced fixed fee, providing owners with enhanced cashflow, budget control and of course, more time.

The new X26J Plus is backed by JLG’s ‘1 & 5’ warranty which provides a full year of coverage on the complete machine, plus five years’ coverage on all specified major structural components.
