Bulky sales procurement goes online to Site HQ

Temporary fencing specialist 1300TempFence switches to e-commerce this month, providing clients with fast quoting, ordering, and automated delivery options.

During 2021, the company supplied 1.2mil metres of fencing nationally — that’s enough to stretch from Melbourne to Port Macquarie. 1300TempFence also developed Site HQ, a comprehensive online ordering system, to satisfy its customers’ appetites for planning and booking jobs at a one-stop-shop.

“We saw a gap in the market for an e-commerce solution that’s an end-to-end user experience,” said Dan Clifton, General Manager, Sales at 1300TempFence.

“We also had multiple sales brands and channels that we wanted to amalgamate under a new overarching brand.”

The expectations of a tech-savvy workforce played a big part in moving online and there are plans to optimise Site HQ for mobile devices with an app version.

“We surveyed a group of our customers and conducted our own research into what was available in the market,” said Dan.

“There wasn’t a true e-commerce solution that allowed for transactions of large bulky items to be completed without human intervention. The next generation of site managers and construction leaders have grown up using apps and websites to procure rather than picking up the phone. We needed to provide them with a comfortable solution.”

The new system has benefits for both clients and 1300TempFence sales team.

“Site HQ will give customers more visibility on their purchase history with our business and provide a much more enjoyable user experience in general, and the website’s backend automation will save us many manual steps in the fulfilment process,” said Dan.

The new webpage www.sitehq.com.au will be live in February 2022.
