ur annual HIANZ networking event recently took place at the beautiful Wairakei Resort in Taupo, offering great facilities amidst the forested slopes of the Wairakei Thermal Valley. Our HIANZ Golf Day took on a new form this year, with the introduction of an option to go Mountain Biking. Some even took the opportunity to truly relax and make use of the hot pools and spa facilities.
The Golfers took on the 9-hole golf course in a social game of Ambrose Style Golf, with the support of Honda and Hansa, who kept our golfers well hydrated by offering “refreshments” on course in a Honda SBS. The Mountain bikers returned to join the Golfers at Wairakei Resort for some much needed “refreshments” provided by Hansa and Honda. These were enjoyed whilst seeing a

The weather was on our side, and we enjoyed a sunny afternoon of golfing and mountain biking. The group of e-bikers and mountain bikers headed off on a scenic loop of fun on a winding, single track, alongside the Waikato River stopping off at viewpoints to take in the aquamarine waters of the Huka Falls and the geothermal streams. The evening started off with a Cocktail Hour “With a Twist” sponsored by Masport. Mixologist Jules demonstrated how to whip up a couple of our favourite cocktails and gave us tips for the best results, before challenging teams of 5 to get creative by concocting their own versions of these classic cocktails. Bryce Swainson, who took part in and won this challenge, walked away with a brand new Masport pressure washer. This was followed by an indulgent dinner before moving onto the Resort Pub for some late-night networking. Our thanks go to Honda Equipment, Hansa Chippers and Masport for their contributions and sponsorship of this successful event.
