4. CHECKING AND ADJUSTING [1] STEERING WHEEL PLAY Steering Wheel Play 1. Turn the front wheels straight ahead. 2. Rotate the steering wheel lightly by hand, and measure the play (A). 3. If the play (A) is not within the factory specifications, turn the adjusting screw (1) to adjust. Steering wheel play (A)
Factory specification
20 to 50 mm 0.79 to 1.9 in.
(Adjusting) • Remove the battery. • Loosen the lock nut (2) and turn the adjusting screw (1) with a screwdriver to adjust the play (A). When the adjusting screw (1) is turned clockwise, the play (A) decreases. • After adjustment, fix it with lock nut (2) while holding the adjusting screw (1). Tightening torque
