1. DISASSEMBLY (1) Remove the clutch assembly and the shaft. (2) Remove the main change shifter. (3) Remove the separator.

2. GEARS, BEARINGS AND SEALS (1) Check the gears for damage and tooth bearing. Fig. 4-9
(2) Check the bevel gears and thrust collars of the differential for wear. (3) Make sure that each bearing turns smoothly.
