3.REPLACING FAN BELT

CHAPTER 10. MAJOR ADJUSTMENT

Bolt (SP) M8×16

Spur gear (29T) Damper disk

Coupling

Snap ring C (shaft)

Input support (metal)

(1)Remove the snap ring C and shift the coupling forward to disengage it from the spline of spur gear (29T).

(2)Make access to the eight bolts (M8×16) for the dumper disc by turning the fan and remove them. Then remove the damper disc along with the input shaft.

(3)Remove the two bolts (M8× 25) and then the dumper bracket.

Then replace the fan belt in an ordinary manner.

Precautions for reassembly:

a.The bolts for the damper disc assembly and dumper bracket should be tightened temporarily for the first time and then tighten them securely after having centred the damper disc and dumper bracket.

Engine crankshaft pulley b.The bolts above should be tightened to the specified torque of 29.4 N·m (300 kgf·cm). c.Apply sufficient amount of molybdenum-based grease (wear resisting grease). d.Snap ring should be installed securely without fail.
