Preserving the water spraying system
from Dynapac Cold Planer PL 2000 S PL 2000 LS Operating Instructions Manual 900981225 - PDF DOWNLOAD
To avoid damage caused by frost and corrosion when parking the machine for long periods of time, not only should the tank be drained and the filters, pumps and hoses emptied, but the water system should also be preserved. An appropriate anti-corrosion and antifreeze mix should be used for this purpose.
-Unscrew filter housing (1), fill with the mix and refit as usual.
-Close shut-off valve (2), remove intake hose (3) and connect with filler tank (4).
-Fill filler tank with the mix and suspend or hang at a point higher than the pump.
-Start the engine
-Use switch (5) to activate water pump, vent the-high pressure pump (O) at screw (6).
-Switch off pump as soon as the drawn in mix exits the spray nozzles.
-Switch off engine.
-Refit filler tank screw connection on shut-off valve.
Observe safety instructions relating to working with the solution!
A suitable preservative / antifreeze can be ordered under item number 956.94.64.02.
Around 7 litres of the mix is needed for preservation.
When mixed at a ratio of 1:1 with water, this provides frost protection down to around -30°C.

8Emergency steering unit
Should a fault occur near the electronic travel drive control system, the vehicle can be operated and loaded from the construction site or danger area using an emergency unit. The emergency unit is an optional tool and can be supplied with the vehicle. This emergency steering unit provides the operator with the following functions:
-Engine start
-Steering movement for upper conveyor
-Steering for front drive unit pair
-Steering for rear drive unit pair
-Retracting and protruding the chassis legs
-Forwards and reverse direction of travel with speed selection
-Function stop for all movements
All electrical connections needed are established via the emergency steering unit four-pin connector and the socket located behind the engine compartment flap. The socket is secured by a protective cap.
Before connecting up the emergency steering unit, the X6 plug (1) located under the right-hand terminal box must be unplugged otherwise a short circuit may occur!
Only then plug the emergency steering unit’s plug into socket (2) under the operating panel’s guide duct!
