The machine has a (200 hp 950 VAC non/X/P) electric motor that drives the pick breaker and hydraulic pump for the feeder breaker.
emergency stop pull cord switch
The emergency stop pull cord switch is located on the receiving end of the machine. To actuate the switch, pull the cord that is across the conveyor. When the cord is pulled, all machine functions are shutdown immediately.

These sensors are used to detect the state of the belt conveyor (running or not running) and to detect the state of the pick breaker (turning or not turning). If the selector switch (“REGULAR/OFF/ REMOTE”) is in the “REGULAR” or “REMOTE” position and the conveyor belt that is used to convey the coal from the feeder breaker stops, the motor will be shut down. If the pick breaker rotation stops or slows down the pick break sensor will detect this and shut down the motor. There is a high temperature switch for the feeder breaker located onboard the machine at the oil tank. If it detects a high temperature at the oil tank the motor will be shut down and a light (high temperature) will be illuminated. This light is located on the cover of the electrical enclosure. There is a low oil cut off switch for the feeder breaker located onboard the machine at the oil tank. If it detects a low oil issue the motor will be shut down and a light (low oil) will be illuminated. This light is located on the cover of the electrical enclosure. One panic strip is located at the operator’s station on the left hand side of the machine and the other is located on the right side above the crawler assembly. Striking with a small amount of force will actuate either of the panic strips. The panic strip (s) is used to break the control circuit in emergency situations. When either of the panic strips are struck, all machine functions are shutdown immediately.
