When working on slopes or near ravines or plateaus with very high walls, check that the walls are sufficiently supported to prevent landslides. Pay special attention to operations performed in the vicinity of overhangs over the machine, where landslides may occur. Always check ground conditions and the conditions of the material to be removed. Support all areas needed to prevent possible landslides when:
• Decrease work speed. Reaction time could be too slow and the evaluation of the distance wrong. • Warn anyone who is in the work area to keep away from the machine and the load. • Appoint a person in charge of signalling duties.
