The annual meeting of the Hendricks County 4-H and Agricultural Fair Association, Inc. will be Monday, September 27, 2021 starting at 6:30 pm at the 4-H Fairgrounds Conference Center, Danville, Indiana. The purpose of the meeting will be to elect directors to represent specified geographic areas on the fairboard. Directors will be elected from the following townships and district for a three-year term: Clay Township, Eel River Township, Guilford Township, Union Township, and Second Fair District which includes Middle Township, Center Township, Liberty Township and Union Township. A director will also be elected from Washington Township for a oneyear term. Hendricks County residents in these respective townships or district, 18 years old or over and interested in being nominated for one of these positions must submit their intentions in writing to the Hendricks County 4-H & Agricultural Fair Association, 1900 East Main Street, P.O. Thompson Chairs Committee on Pension Management

State Rep. Jeff Thompson (R-Lizton) will serve as vice chair of the Interim Study Committee on Pension Management Oversight, which will host its first meeting Wednesday, Aug. 25. Thompson said the pension committee reviews the annual Indiana Public Retirement System financial report to ensure the state’s REP. JEFF THOMPSON public pensions continue to be well funded. They are set to meet at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 25 in the Senate Chamber at the Indiana Statehouse. “Indiana has a reputation for having a strong pension system,” Thompson said. “Despite the financial effects of the pandemic, our pension systems grew in 2020. Hoosiers who plan for their futures can be confident that their investment will be there when they are ready for retirement.” Throughout the summer and fall, Indiana state legislators serve on interim study committees where they work on policy, examine top issues, gather testimony and recommend legislation ahead of the legislative session kicking off in January. According to Thompson, the Indiana House of Representatives and Senate switch who leads summer study committees. He said Senate lawmakers will serve as committee chairs this year, while House members serve as vice chairs. Thompson chaired the Interim Study Committee on Pension Management Oversight in 2020. In addition to serving on the Interim Study Committee on Pension Management Oversight this year, Thompson was appointed to the Interim Study Committee on Fiscal Policy, the Distressed Unit Appeal Board, and Indiana Stadium and Convention Building Authority. Thompson said members of the public are welcomed to attend and testify at committee hearings, which typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis. Hearings are also livestreamed and archived online at iga.in.gov, where committee calendars and meeting agendas are posted.
