Koblenz sits at the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle
Day 1: UK to Cologne. Travel by coach from Folkestone to Cologne via Eurotunnel or ferry – a journey of approximately five hours. Embark your ship and enjoy a welcome reception and dinner on board.
Day 5: Bernkastel-Kues to Trier Sail to Trier, Germany’s oldest city. An afternoon included tour reveals the cathedral and the spectacular Roman city gate, Porta Nigra.
Day 2: Cologne to Koblenz to Winningen. Set sail for Koblenz, the city where the Rhine and Moselle meet at Deutsches Eck. Perhaps join an optional city tour including Ehrenbreitstein Fortress. Cruise to Winningen where you moor overnight.
Day 6: Trier to Traben-Trarbach. Pass stunning Moselle scenery as you cruise to the ‘twin towns’ of Traben-Trarbach. Straddling the river and linked by a bridge, it was once the second-largest wine-trading centre in Europe. Discover its art nouveaustyle buildings or perhaps join an optional wine tasting.
Day 3: Winningen to Cochem to Zell. Cruise upstream past vineyards and villages to Cochem. It has a beautiful setting beneath a romantic Neo-Gothic castle which you can visit on an optional tour. Sail to the wine town of Zell this evening. Day 4: Zell to Bernkastel-Kues Sail from Zell to Bernkastel-Kues, where Renaissance houses line the market square. This afternoon perhaps take an optional trip on the Bernkastel-Kues panoramic train.

Day 7: Traben-Trarbach to Boppard Take a leisurely cruise to Boppard. This evening you can go ashore and explore this picturesque town in the valley of the mythical Lorelei. Alternatively, enjoy an optional wine tasting. Remain moored in Boppard overnight.

Day 8: Boppard to Rüdesheim Sail south past the famous Cat and Mouse castles and Lorelei rock to Rüdesheim. Take in the town’s early houses and wine taverns or perhaps join an optional wine tasting, or visit to the entertaining Siegfried’s Museum of Mechanical Music. Remain moored overnight in Rüdesheim. Day 9: Rüdesheim to Mainz to Andernach Arrive in Mainz with time to explore the home town of Johannes Gutenberg, the father of modern printing, independently or during an optional walking tour. During lunch, cruise to Andernach with its historic old town. Perhaps join an optional excursion to see the extraordinary cold water geyser here. Day 10: Andernach to Königswinter to Bonn Sail downstream to Königswinter. Perhaps join an optional excursion by rackrailway to the ruins of Drachenfels castle. Cruise on to Bonn and explore independently or join an optional guided city walking tour.
