Set sail this evening and enjoy a welcome drink, and dinner on board, with a live performance by the accomplished Band of Gold, who'll provide fun and cool sounds throughout your cruise. Tonight’s performance is entitled ‘Welcome to the Swinging 60s.’ Day 2: Bonn Arrive in the former West German capital of Bonn at lunchtime and enjoy an afternoon here. An optional excursion reveals the sights of the town, and in 2022 includes a visit to the birthplace of Beethoven. Tonight’s musical entertainment is ‘The British Invasion’ – spend the evening celebrating the success of British bands in the US and beyond in the 60s including The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Tom Jones and Dusty Springfield. Day 3: Bonn to Koblenz Depart Bonn at breakfast time and sail through the morning to Koblenz, where you arrive early afternoon and moor overnight. Koblenz is set at the point where the Rhine and Moselle flow together. It’s known as 'Deutsches Eck' or German Corner and features a huge statue of Kaiser Wilhelm l. Looming on the right bank is the imposing Festung Ehrenbreitstein, a citadel built by the Prussians. You might like to join an optional tour of the town and castle this afternoon. This evening your on-board entertainers plan to ‘Rock the Joint’ with a set celebrating the pioneers of Rock & Roll including Bill Haley & the Comets, Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard and Fats Domino.
Day 4: Koblenz to Rüdesheim Sail over breakfast to one of the most picturesque sections of the middle Rhine. Arrive in Rüdesheim, a charming wine town, early afternoon and moor here overnight. Perhaps stroll to the Drosselgasse, a medieval street full of restaurants, wine houses and garden taverns, for a glass of the local wine or beer. Alternatively you can join an optional excursion to Siegfried's Museum of Mechanical Music, a whimsical display of selfplaying instruments, or partake in an optional wine tasting at a local winery. Return to your ship in time to enjoy a ‘Musical Kaleidoscope’ from Jeremy and the Band of Gold. They aim to provide a fun night mixing the sounds of the 60s and 70s with Rock & Roll, Blues and a bit of Jump Jive and Swing.
Day 5: Rüdesheim to Cologne to
Konigswinter Sail from Rüdesheim early this morning and, after a lunchtime arrival, spend the afternoon at leisure in Cologne.
