Muchas veces, los egresados de la Escuela de Ciencias Lingüísticas no cuentan con el conocimiento específico de qué hacer después de terminar sus estudios. Por esta razón, en el Seminario 2022 se abarcaron diferentes temas para intentar darle solución, tales como: áreas de trabajo de un traductor, consideraciones del encargo de traducción, postraducción, elaboración de presupuesto, cálculo para cobro de una traducción, cobro de honorarios, facturación, impuestos, registro ante la SAT, registro de contabilidad, constitución y tipos de empresa y sociedades mercantiles, diferentes tipos de propiedades (intelectual, industrial, autoral...), subcontratación, contrato civil de servicios profesionales colegiación, registro de logotipo, proceso de registro de títulos profesionales ante diferentes entidades.

Many times, graduates of the School of Linguistic Sciences do not have the specific knowledge of what to do after finishing their studies. For this reason, in the 2022 Seminar, different topics were covered to try to solve it, such as: translator's work areas, translation commission considerations, posttranslation, budget preparation, calculation for charging for a translation, fee collection, invoicing, taxes, registration with SAT, accounting registration, constitution and types of companies and trading companies, different types of properties (intellectual, industrial, copyright...), subcontracting, civil contract for professional services, association, logo registration, registration process of professional titles with different entities.

La cual abarca puntos como: etapas del proceso de traducción, niveles de la traducción, perfil y competencias del traductor freelance, clasificación de textos, software para distintas tareas (edición de texto, memorias de traducción, edición de videos e imágenes, etc.).

Por último, se adjunta la experiencia de los estudiantes que participaron en la elaboración del Seminario 2022 para que sirva como referencia a las futuras generaciones de egresados de la Escuela.

Según Garcia (2021), el Instituto Nacional de Estadística (INE) de la República de Guatemala registró que poco más de 38,000 estudiantes se graduaron de la universidad en 2019; un 56 % perteneciente a una universidad pública. Los egresados deben enfrentarse a la búsqueda de trabajo, tarea que se complica cuando no se tiene experiencia laboral, no se conoce el campo al que pretenden dedicarse. Lo cual, puede perjudicar el desenvolvimiento profesional, por consiguiente, la creación de un manual con información compilada que permitan la facilidad de su inmersión en el campo laboral, todo ello con el fin de beneficiar al estudiante y egresados de la Escuela de Ciencias Lingüísticas. Para la elaboración del manual se tomaron en cuenta aspectos éticos, monetarios, tributarios, legales y mercadeo de la profesión y se desglosa en los siguientes capítulos: CAPÍTULO 1: TIPOS DE MANUALES Y ESTRUCTURAS. Existen diferentes tipos de manuales, un manual es una guía la cual se debe seguir con el objetivo de guiarse y apoyarse en determinado tema. Como traductores es importante conocer y tener un manual para poder guiarse. Entre los tipos de manuales que existen están: organizacional, departamental, política, técnico, bienvenido, calidad y el de procedimientos.

El propósito del manual de procedimientos es establecer los pasos que debe seguir una organización o empresa, su objetivo es establecer un orden. CHAPTER 1: TYPES OF MANUALS AND STRUCTURES. There are different types of manuals, a manual is a guide which must be followed in order to be guided and supported in a certain subject. As translators, it is important to know and have a manual to be able to guide yourself. Among the types of manuals that exist we can mention: organizational, departmental, political, technical, welcome, quality and procedures.

The purpose of the procedure’s manual is to establish the steps that an organization or company must follow; its objective is to establish an order. CHAPTER 2: FREELANCE TRANSLATION PROCESS

CAPITULO 2: PROCESO DE TRADUCCIÓN FREELANCE Existen diferentes procesos que se llevan de llevar a cabo al momento de traducir. Un traductor freelance debe seguirlos para poder realizar una traducción lo más fiel posible. Para esto se debe basar en diferentes teóricos, tipos de texto, formato, entre otros aspectos los cuales son de suma importancia para tener una traducción de calidad. Existen diferentes etapas en el proceso de traducción: la primera fase que es el análisis del texto origen, la segunda fase que es la transacción del texto a la lengua meta y por último la tercera fase que es la parte de la revisión. CAPÍTULO 3: PROYECTO DE TRADUCCIÓN Un proyecto de traducción es el convertir un texto de una lengua a otra. Para poder realizar un proyecto es necesario tomar en cuenta tres aspectos fundamentales: El tiempo, el costo y la calidad del trabajo. Estos elementos, en conjunto harán que se presente una traducción de calidad. CAPÍTULO 4: ORIENTACIÓN TRIBUTARIA Y LEGAL PARA EL TRADUCTOR FREELANCE. Como traductores autónomos en muchas ocasiones nos vemos en la necesidad de presentar ciertos documentos tributarios, que There are different processes that are carried out at the time of making. CHAPTER 4: TAX AND LEGAL GUIDANCE FOR THE FREELANCE TRANSLATOR.

As freelance translators, we often find ourselves in the need to submit certain tax documents, which are mandatory by law, this is why it is extremely necessary to know, be able to apply and be informed of all that this

Un manual de concepto se entiende como un documento que brinda información especializada en cuanto a cómo se lleva a cabo las distintas operaciones, políticas o normas. Con esto el traductor debe cumplir ciertas competencias y contar con diferentes herramientas para ser un buen profesional.

Cada uno de estos capítulos nos muestra como un traductor no solo debe saber trasladar un mensaje de un idioma a otro, sino también debe tener la capacidad de conocer de diversos temas y aplicarlos para ser un buen profesional.

En esta ocasión, el seminario estuvo conformado por cinco comisiones: audiovisual, cierre, protocolo, revisión y edición, y revista. Se realizó una encuesta a los estudiantes para conocer su opinión acerca del trabajo realizado en sus comisiones. Los resultados fueron que un 51.7 % de los encuestados opinaron que su experiencia fue excelente y para un 37.9 % entails, in order to present a good job.

CHAPTER 5: PROPOSED PROCEDURES MANUAL.

On this occasion, the Seminar was made up of five commissions: audiovisual, closing, protocol, revision-editing, and magazine. A survey was conducted among the students to find out their opinion about the work done in their commissions. The results were that 51.7% of those surveyed thought their experience was excellent and for 37.9% it was good. On the other hand, 10.3 % considered their experience to be average. However, no bad experiences were

El trabajo dentro de la comisión fue eficaz, se coordinaban sin problema, se apoyaban mutuamente y cumplían con su trabajo a tiempo; todos los miembros de la comisión aportaron ideas significativas. En cuanto al tema de seminario la comisión manifiesta que será de mucha ayuda para los futuros profesionales de la traducción en su vida laboral ya que se detallan temas del ámbito profesional que ayudarán en la vida de los traductores. Como punto final, la comisión de audiovisual recomienda una reported.

Cierre La opinión de la comisión de cierre acerca de su experiencia durante este seminario ha sido excelente, dicha comisión tuvo a su cargo la actividad de final de semestre y expresan que ha sido interesante y significativo tener la oportunidad de celebrar el esfuerzo de todos estos años. En cuanto al trabajo dentro de su comisión manifiestan haberlo hecho de una manera efectiva y excelente, consideran que el tema escogido es muy bueno y será de mucha utilidad para las futuras generaciones y para los traductores freelance. Sin embargo, esta comisión presentó dificultades en cuanto a la fluidez de su trabajo debido a que ellos dependían de la información enviada por las demás comisiones, aun así, expresan satisfacción por su trabajo final y recomiendan una mejor organización y participación de todos los alumnos.

Protocolo Esta comisión opina que el trabajo hecho dentro de la comisión fue mayoritariamente aceptable, sin embargo, tuvieron problemas internos en cuanto a la colaboración y coordinación. En cuanto a su experiencia Closing The opinion of the closing commission about their experience during this seminar has been excellent. This commission was in charge of the end-of-semester activity and expressed that it has been interesting and significant to have the opportunity to celebrate the effort of all these years.

Regarding the work within their commission, they state that they have done it in an effective and excellent way, they consider that the chosen topic is very good and will be very useful for future generations and for freelance translators. However, this commission had difficulties in terms of the fluency of their work because they depended on the information sent by the other commissions, even so, they express satisfaction with their final work and recommend a better organization and participation of all the students.

Protocol This commission is of the opinion that the work done within the commission was mostly acceptable, however, they had internal problems regarding collaboration and coordination. Regarding their experience with this Seminar, the protocol committee believes that it helped them to work with a variety of

En cuanto al tema del seminario esta comisión opina que es un área de mucha importancia ya que son temas útiles tanto para la promoción actual como para venideras, especialmente en cuanto al área laboral. La comisión de protocolo también opina que este seminario pudo ser mejor, especialmente en las áreas de participación y el trabajo en equipo.

Revisión y edición La mayor parte de las estudiantes pertenecientes a esta comisión opinaron que su experiencia trabajando juntas fue buena, ya que todas colaboraron y fueron responsables al realizar su trabajo. Sin embargo, también consideraron que el trabajo no se pudo repartir de la forma más equitativa posible. Además, opinaron que la organización del tiempo y la repartición del trabajo son aspectos que se podrían mejorar. Nevertheless, several members stated that they liked the chosen topic and that it will be very useful for their professional lives and for

Así mismo, piensan que el tema de seminario es muy útil, ya que durante la carrera no se cuenta con mucha información acerca de lo que sucede después de graduarse. En general la comisión piensa que su experiencia en el seminario fue muy buena, sin embargo, muchos coinciden en que la organización pudo haber sido mejor, ya que la de organización y que algunos compañeros no participaran en la toma de decisiones provocó que un retraso en la organización.

En conclusión, como promoción la experiencia del seminario fue buena (en un 58.6%), excelente (34.5%) y regular (6.9%). Afortunadamente, no hubo reporte de malas experiencias (0%). future generations of students.
