The University of Western Australia The University of Western Australia (UWA) is a public research university located in Perth, Western Australia. Founded in 1911, UWA is the oldest and highest-ranked university in Western Australia. It is a member of the Group of Eight, Australia’s eight leading researchintensive universities.
