Wheatbelt Development Commission

The role of the Wheatbelt Development Commission is to maximise long-term positive outcomes for the Wheatbelt region. As a proactive and forward-thinking regional development agency they connect, collaborate and support stakeholders, harness the region’s competitive advantages and address barriers to growth.

The Wheatbelt Development Commission is one of nine independent statutory bodies, formed to:

• promote the region

• facilitate coordination between relevant statutory bodies and State Government agencies

• identify the opportunities for investment in the region and encourages that investment

• identify the infrastructure needs of the region and encourage the provision of that infrastructure in the region.

The Wheatbelt Development Commission leverage their competitive advantages including economic stability, transport connectivity, natural resources, lifestyle and location, and available, affordable land.
