St Johns Wine operate their own vineyards, harvesters, local transport, winery, warehouse, distribution, city cellar door and on-line sales. Their vertically integrated business carries out all activities and controls the entire flow of goods from vineyard to venue. St Johns Wine’s first vineyard was established in 1997 in the Blackwood Valley wine region of Western Australia. It is a considerable planting of 60 hectares which places St Johns as the largest grower in the region. The vineyard is blessed to have fruits of such intensity and quality providing the foundation fruit for their iconic wines in their Optimus, Tweed River and Round Puzzle range. The Blackwood Valley wine region is a highly awarded wine region pioneered in the 1800s, with the earliest wine grape plantings in 1978. St Johns Wine’s second vineyard of 40 hectares, located in the northern heartland of the Margaret River Wine Region, was acquired in 1998. Varieties planted are the key French varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Chardonnay, Semillon, and Sauvignon Blanc, providing the finest fruit for their St Johns Brook, Round Puzzle and Crush range of wines.
