Tongue-Tied by Anastasia Spyromitrou Like deluges and tornados, the thoughts swirl in my brain drowning me in secret glances shared between us. Because we talk but we don't speak and we never say what we really mean. Even though sometimes we feel perfectly aligned and in sync, I am no poet and you're no reader. And when the thoughts become words And I find the courage to oppose the cages that hold me hostage, I feel like god. Until I look into your eyes And in a frenzy they get lost in the obscurity of this world. Marvelously I am no longer sure how to speak or to breathe. And I am left there, standing totally disarmed. So if I’m bound to live in this world aphonic, just know your eyes are worth singing for.
