The hands of the emerald clock were running nimbly through the glass, as if they wanted to forestall the crystal drops of faded hope The moonlight hid behind the veil of the starlit sky, a gentle breeze whistled softly through the smokestacks of the road Bluebells were hunching towards the face of the earth, closing their cocoon of life in silence, their petals withered by the wear and tear of time as they had played out their final dance of fate And when a dark shadow glided haltingly through the crusted window, a driblet of dolor inundated the room and the beats of the scarlet pump of life became more and more sluggish until the wheel of fortune pointed to the winged angels No one could reinstate him from the abrasion of time No one could reinstate him from the pain of life
