Are You Ready for Summer Camp?
We Are!
After careful thought and planning, we are pleased that we are able to support sending children of 1199SEIU members to camp this summer, while following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines to protect campers, families and our community. Camp experiences offer exciting opportunities for socializing and skill-building in a natural environment, but the health and safety of our campers and staff remain our highest priority. Fortunately, the CDC’s recent approval of COVID-19 vaccinations for children as young as 12 will afford added protection. Take a look at a few of the best practices and actions we anticipate that summer camps are taking to help ensure COVID-19 risk remains low:
Intensifying cleaning and disinfection practices within our facilities, using safe and effective products to sanitize and disinfect shared objects and transport vehicles.
Keeping campers in small groups, prioritizing outdoor activities and maintaining socialdistancing measures whenever possible.
Limiting the number of items that are shared or touched by campers and staff.
Promoting healthy hygiene practices, including handwashing and using hand sanitizer.
