COVID-19: Where We’ve Been and the Path Ahead

It may seem hard to believe, but after more than a year of uncertainty, isolation and anxiety, it looks as though an end to the COVID-19 pandemic may be on the horizon, thanks to the availability of vaccines and growing vaccine acceptance. Yet we realize that for many of you, especially our nursing home workers, the effects of the pandemic linger. With resident loss and overwhelmed staff making national news, getting back to “normal” remains a challenge. We know how important your health benefits have been during this time— and how important they continue to be.

As the vaccine rollout continues, we are encouraged that so many of you have stepped up to protect your health and the people you care for by getting vaccinated. Although getting vaccinated is your choice, the vaccines are a powerful tool in preventing the spread of COVID-19, protecting yourself, your families and your residents. If you missed the initial vaccination wave for essential workers but would still like to get vaccinated, it’s not too late. First, check with your employer about vaccine availability. If your employer is not offering the vaccine, you can make an appointment at any participating pharmacy or New York State or New York City vaccination site:
