BIO SCULPTURE FOR HEALTHY NAILS with Nails by Michal

s a long-standing nail technician with years of experience in nails, Michal was shocked when a friend mentioned to her that she wouldn’t use her services any more. ‘It’s nothing personal, but I only do Bio Sculpture now,’ her friend told her. Slightly embarrassed that she hadn’t heard of it before, Michal asked her friend about it. ‘It’s amazing,’ her friend gushed, ‘It strengthens the nail and lasts for ages!’ After hearing her friend rave about this special technique, Michal decided to look into it for herself. The Bio Sculpture company was founded by Elmien Scholtz of Clocolan, South Africa in 1988. Elmien was looking to create a nail product that would give women beautiful, strong, healthy nails which would be easy to maintain and which they could admire and be proud of. Her answer was Bio Sculpture Gel. With typical gel products, chemicals are used to bond the gel tightly to the nails. Unfortunately, these gels are very unhealthy for the nails and cause a lot of damage. ‘Women come to me,’ Michal tells me, ‘With nails so thin, weak, and brittle from constant application of gel that when I try to file their nails they just break or bend. Instead, I have to use a special soft sponge.’ With gel polish extremely damaging to the nails, women continue to use it as they know no alternative. However, although not as widely known as regular gel, Bio Sculpture products can be found in every country. With a five-star health rating, they are oxygenating products which are healthy, nourishing and promote strong nails. After much research, Michal decided to invest in Bio Sculpture’s products. She underwent training with an expert in the technique and bought the products, then tried it out on a client. ‘It wasn’t an instant process,’ Michal admits. ‘I still had a lot to learn, and experience to gain. Her client had to return a few times to rectify certain problems, but she herself saw the improvement in her nails so she stuck it out. Over the last four years, I have built myself up, with women who keep returning as they see tremendous improvement in their nails. Over lockdown I was stuck in Israel, and my clients kept asking me, ‘When are you coming back? Our nails are terrible!’ The beauty about Bio Sculpture nails is that whilst gel ruins your nails, the Bio Gel products strengthen your nails so much that they look perfect even without gel on. ‘Women come to me with short, broken nails.’ says Michal, ‘They see instant improvement and end up with long, healthy ones.’ A durable, chip resistant, and self-levelling product, the gel also lasts a long time. ‘I give a two week guarantee for the nails,’ Michal tells me, ‘But they usually last three, and often four, weeks. Being locally based in the Golders Green/Hendon area, people can drop in easily for appointments, but I also do home visits for those who prefer the convenience. I work very hard on customer satisfaction; it is important for me that a customer leaves happy. And of course, I absolutely love my job - I could do it all day!’
