Wrinkles and fine lines are usually one of the first signs of aging skin, whether we like them or not. If the thought of wrinkles scares you, there’s one easy step you can take to prevent them: wrinkle cream. With so many anti-wrinkle creams—and anti-aging options in general—available, you would be wise to choose one that addresses your skin care concerns. Since the skin around your eyes is delicate, it deserves the best care. In addition to reducing fine lines and wrinkles, anti-aging products can prevent sun damage as well. The most effective anti-wrinkle cream is one that’s formulated specifically for your age group and skin type. First impression of the products? I have very dry and sensitive skin and I found that L’Oréal Revitalift hydrates well without any irritation. The cream absorbs easily and leaves the skin feeling soft. How long have you use the products? I have been using L’Oréal Revitalift for several years and find it to be a good moisturiser. How did the products help you? While the face cream moisturised my skin, it also visibly reduced the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles with continued use over time.

PROS AND CONS PRO - L’Oréal Revitalift range leaves my skin soft, and my skin has a glow afterward. The range is also developed and formulated for your skin type and age group (between 30 and 55+ years). CON - My secret is out. Now you know why I have great skin and still be looking young despite being over 40.

RECOMMENDATION I would recommend this to anyone who is looking to find the perfect anti-wrinkle cream.

“Most often when I fail in this multi-tasking, I tell myself, I must work harder.”

March Issue I reached home with a splitting headache—a terrible day at the office. Heavy rain and water logging caused me to get stuck in snail traffic again. The father-daughter duo was in the living room. Too busy to look at me. Ahhh! My bruised mind needs absolute rest. Getting fresh, I prepared a light dinner. ‘Let us have dinner early’, I persuaded both. “No dear! Not now. Have yours and relax. We will take care “. Both echoed. I sheepishly believed them, gulped my dinner, and threw myself on the bed. The next morning, on entering the kitchen, I pulled myself back. A big mess - open casserole, curdling milk, and leftover curry were winking at me. I realized a mother needs to clean the kitchen, no matter what. She is sick, damn tired, no issue! She must clean the kitchen. I am a career woman, a mother, a smiling wife, and a supportive therapist for the family. Most often when I fail in this multi-tasking, I tell myself, I must work harder. Am I obsessed with Super Woman Syndrome? In process of joining the dots between career and home. When I say, I am tired. It’s not honky–dory. I am exhausted indeed. This does not mean I want to ignore my family and my responsibility. I just need a concern, and an affectionate hug. When I say I need ME time, it’s some change for me to unwind. That’s all. I did not mean that motherhood was a mistake in my life. It’s wonderful, at what cost? When my children refuse to eat what I cooked at home, I should be sorry for being a lousy cook. When my husband comes home tired from a hectic work schedule, I must take complete care and feel guilty for not being a good wife. Back at work, when something was done imperfectly, I pitied myself for not contributing one hundred percent. There is always a pre-designed box where working mothers are to be fitted into. When you listen to a mother’s scream, it does not mean that she loves to shout. Perhaps she had spoken the same hundred times with a normal tone. When you see a nervous mother on the edge of madness, this does not mean she is insane. When she says she needs help, that’s precisely what she means. She is not incapable of making simple noodles for dinner occasionally. When she loves a break with childhood pals, it does not mean she prefers to be ‘single’ again. When she says, she is worried, that’s literally what she is! She does not want to falter like a coward and disown her responsibility. Do not invent an untruth to judge someone, let alone a woman who gives up her own life to cherish the life of those who are special to her. There is none on earth who can sacrifice more than a MOTHER. And mothers deserve a bit more understanding and fewer trials. We have a little emotion while saying ‘I don’t care ‘and with little pain we say ‘It’s okay’. 13 Articles

Breast VS Bottle by Sandy Hleis As mothers, we’ve all heard the term “breast is best!” We may have learned it from family, friends, possibly even our partners but just how true is that saying? I’m personally on the fence about it. Although I believe breast milk is most beneficial for our babies, I think a mother’s physical and mental health is relevant too. I had a horrible breastfeeding experience with my firstborn because she was a ‘puller’. I’ll never forget the midwife’s reaction when she saw my daughter unlatch at the hospital. She cringed and said, “you poor thing, you’ve got a puller! I truly hope this gets easier for you.” But it never did. Maybe it was her words that stuck with me or the actual pain I felt when breastfeeding my baby. I couldn’t do it for more than four months and had to stop. It all seems like such a blur now, but I remember crying every time she was due for a feed. I remember holding my breath during the ‘letdown’ period when she would latch on, and everyone around would tell me that things will get better. I recall the guilt and shame I felt for not being able to bond with her while breastfeeding. I thought something was wrong with me– that she could sense the negativity and would grow up to hate me. I knew it would be best for us both if I just stopped. She would no longer have to feel my hesitation, exhaustion, and anxiety during feeds, and I could start enjoying her. In my culture, I was expected to breastfeed, but I did what was necessary for both of us, no matter what everyone else thought. I stood my ground, and today I’m so proud of myself and cannot believe what a special bond I have with my daughter. Fast-forward to my breastfeeding experience with my son. Wow! What a difference. Before I even gave birth to him, I was determined to do what felt right for him, whether it meant to breastfeed or bottle-feed. Yet the second he was born, he naturally latched on, but it was so soft, gentle. My heart was at ease, and I finally understood the breastfeeding bond I heard so much of. He’s now eight months old, still breastfeeding, and we’re both enjoying every single moment of it. It’s his safe space and my special time with him, which allows us to create a unique bond that I will cherish for the rest of my life. So, if you were to ask me which is best–breast or bottle? I’d honestly tell you, whatever makes you happy, keeps you healthy, and allows you to nourish your relationship with your baby.

KERRY-ing For Reading

March Issue

by Kerrylene Paulsen My first encounter with a reading book was when I was about four or five years old. I did not attend crèche then but wanted to read a book and tore a page out accidentally. older brother. When my dad learned of this, he wasn't happy with me. When he heard I wanted to read, he was so proud and taught me himself. That's how my love of reading began. I've attended Riverlea First Primary School from Grade one to Grade seven and have been a student of merit. I volunteered at the same school because I wanted to give back to our community. I was disappointed when I learned that the kids in our communities have difficulty reading. I assisted the school with grade three and four classes when a Library Assistant position became available. I applied and was appointed. It was the ideal job to teach kids to read. Flashcards of the alphabet were made and used by children to build words. I joined Readers R Leaders and learned about the inter-primary school reading competition. I prepared Grade six and seven learners for the Phendulani Reading Competition (a competition between seven primary schools in our district). The children read 13 books based on different categories, such as sport, youth, real-life stories, spy stories, and tested on these books. In January, I decided to work with children in smaller groups. Where we also help the children understand and communicate what they are learning. Since our children are future leaders, my passion and goal are to empower them. Just think about setting the trend for readers, and it continues to grow. Where will our country be? Our imaginations open up through reading, and we can transport ourselves to another world. Depending on your interests, you can either relax or be swept away by suspense, romance, or even a thrilling murder series. May God grant me the courage, strength, and wisdom to continue. Thank you

Forming a Healthy

A crucial aspect of a balanced life is having a healthy lifestyle. To maintain a healthy diet, one should make small, manageable changes at a time. With these small changes, you can begin to experience the health and vitality you deserve. Balance is the key Bookshelves are filled with hundreds of fad diets that promise to shed kilos off fast. Diets like these often don’t produce lasting results because they require you to make unsustainable lifestyle changes. If you follow a healthy diet and exercise regime you can live a long, healthy life. Practice moderation. Make wiser choices instead of denying yourself foods you enjoy. Replace your favorites with healthier alternatives that still taste great. Cut yourself some slack- When you indulge, enjoy a small taste and experience dessert without the guilt. Healthy Foods Can Be Tasty Many people believe that all healthy food tastes disgusting. Many who have eaten healthier can testify that this is a myth. You only have to find healthy substitutes and alternatives to the calorie packed food you're used to eating.

Grapes and watermelon, for example, make a great snack food. They satisfy both hunger and thirst, while tempting your taste buds at the same time. If you can satisfy your sweet tooth and hunger with far fewer calories than reaching for a candy bar, why wouldn't you? A healthy lifestyle is about making the right choices, and that is the goal.

Drink fruit juices or smoothies instead of soda. You'll still enjoy a delicious drink and save yourself from the toxic effects of carbonated drinks. Someday, you might replace fruit juice with water, which will leave you more refreshed and save you from the sugar in fruit juices.

Keep It Simple Dramatic changes in your diet are likely to leave you discouraged and deprived. Minor changes that make a big difference can last a lifetime and increase your confidence.

Eat breakfast every morning to jumpstart your metabolism. Exercise and drink plenty of water.

Consume fruits, vegetables, and nuts instead of fattening snacks 18 Articleslike candy bars and snack cakes.

Full time to MY time

March Issue

by Angela Chapendeka I worked in the Information Technology industry for ten years, mainly on the Service Desk. My husband and I worked from home for about a year with the covid-19 pandemic. Our son was just five months old when the pandemic began. Together we juggled days and nights that put tremendous strain on our relationship – Hubby would handle our son from 06:30 AM until I logged off later in the afternoon. He would have to log in later in the day. During that time, we alternated between changing diapers, feedings, meetings, random calls, and focusing on his work (he is an RTA). I responded to logged requests and spoke with users/colleagues to resolve problems as they arose. My strained marriage and watching my son pass milestones without me led me to resign. I decided to focus on my relationship with my family and build a Tupperware business part-time. I enjoyed 'doing nothing' and spending time with my son. Our bond grew this way, and I felt that this was best for his emotional well-being as well as my own. After moving back to Worcester, my best friend introduced me to doTERRA, an essential oil company. From there, we created a small business together; and due to differences, we parted ways a year later, starting our respective ventures. My primary business- I.Eat.Oils was born, and the 'Wife.Mom.Boss' Empire followed shortly after. I Eat Oils provide temporary pain relief naturally. Inspired by my mother, the Pain Blend developed was to support her chronic pain, arthritis, inflammation, and swollen feet. Presented with the opportunity to market and sell medical-grade CBD Oil privately and being in the essential oil business, I thought it would be a good match. The Wife.Mom.Boss Empire was just an 'extra income' project initially. I printed t-shirts and sold them for a small commission which opened the door for me to give a small business 'Wife.Mom.Boss' a chance to feel 'valued' to own her title. I started offering advertising services for a female-owned small business brand, product & services on my social media platforms. The few ladies who have joined the Empire are phenomenal. I learned a few things from them in recent months that I'd like to share with you: • • •

You are of tremendous value in your home and your family; you are replaceable everywhere else. In business, YES, it's about making money and finding fulfillment and value in supporting local, small businesses and paying them what they are due. Spoil yourself! You deserve it.

Know your child:

State of mind during sickness

by Aruna Chandel

Today I am in the hospital for my son's surgery; he tore the meniscus and ligaments of his knee in an accident. A fracture occurred too - He thanked me and wept after the surgery. I believe he struggled accepting that he got injured because of his mistakes, and now we have to take care of him. As a mother, I understand my son's pain and his feelings. It breaks my heart to see him in tears of regret. In his face, as well as in his unspoken words, I can see his pain, his mixed emotions, and his inability to enjoy life as usual. We try to comfort him to help him realize that this is only a temporary phase. And the time between now and the end of the recovery process will take some time. My son was in a poor mental state while undergoing treatment, and for the first time since he had surgery, I saw him smile. He looks relaxed now. I'm not sure if it's because of anesthesia or if it's the confidence that he will recover soon. My son shared this room with another patient, a young man with unbearable pain in his stomach. Both his physical and emotional health are very debilitating. Why I'm sharing this? When a person is sick or in an accident, they have to deal with mental trauma. It pains them to see themselves in a place where they depend on others. Sometimes, feeling like a burden disturbs them. It is common for families to neglect the mental health of their children. Sometimes, this can negatively affect them, resulting in low self-esteem and unresolved emotions. Keep the following in mind. Always check on young people during these times. Hospital beds are not fun for young people, who usually find it hard to stay positive. Their mood can be affected by both the pain and the medication. The key is to boost their confidence. Therefore, I read to my son as reading relieves stress and boost confidence. Moms, remember, there will always be circumstances that will teach us something or show us how to handle life. So, take care of your sick or injured child, stay with them; they need us as much as we need them.

Mauritius is one of Africa’s few social and economic success stories. • Beaches Mauritius is a tropical island surrounded by lush greenery and jet-black volcanic rocks. Visitors can’t help but fall in love with the white sand and the serene lagoons. • Culture The cooking of Mauritius is culturally diverse and tasteful and offers traditional, homey, and sophisticated cuisines. A delightful array of cuisine is created by blending spices, flavors, colors, and aromas. China, India, the Middle East, the Far East, France, and South Africa are among the countries that have influenced the island’s cuisine. Explore the island’s exotic dishes. • Adventure Whether you want to swim, snorkel, fish, or take part in water sports, you can enjoy the idyllic beaches and warm waters in your way. What about land activities? There are a variety of thrills for kids and adults to enjoy, such as horseback riding, quad biking, jeep safaris, zip-lining, canyon-seeing, and canyoning. Mauritius offers several hiking and nature trails. Among its perks are the chance to trek through primary forests, encounter endemic fauna, and pass by deep canyons and waterfalls. • Relaxation and Shopping Private spas offer a wide range of treatments that reflect the country’s diversity. Some propose holistic approaches that balance physical, mental, and spiritual functions for comprehensive rebalancing and rejuvenation. A cosmopolitan consumer can satisfy each of their wishes with local and international shops, as well as luxury brand boutiques. After a blissful holiday in Mauritius, visitors have only one complaint: they wish they could stay longer.- I’ll leave it at that.

Motivational and Transformation Coach, Author, Blogger, Youtuber

...and her take on working mom struggles. What do you think is the biggest challenge faced by working moms? Traditionally, most women prioritized family over everything else. Whenever we think this way, we overlook our preferences, likes, and dislikes. Because of this mindset, we feel guilty when we leave for work, leaving behind our family, especially our children. The feeling of guilt we care about most of the time impacts our work also. So, it’s critical to work on our mindset and remove the guilty feeling. In your opinion, what can working moms do to manage their time better? The important thing is to maintain a to-do list. Always make a to-do list every night for the next day’s work and engagement. A disciplined life makes time management easy. While sometimes, we have to be kinder to ourselves. It is important to take care of our energy levels and pay attention to what our bodies and minds tell us. Do you think work/life balance is possible? Although, we find it hard to have a work/life balance, it’s not impossible. One important thing is that working moms should be at peace, happy, and content with whatever they are doing. As a woman, you are doing what’s best possible from your side. You are supporting your kids and family and fulfilling all responsibilities at the workplace. Don’t be afraid to stand up for yourself, whether at home or work. Be prepared for the unexpected and strive to find a solution that works best. Establish boundaries at work and home. Can raising kids teach you skills you can use in the workplace? You can learn a lot from raising kids and using it in the workplace. In the same way that you can train your kids to focus on their achievements, you can train yourself to focus on the excellent work you have done in your office. Most working moms feel guilt when making sacrifices- What is one guilt you have, being a working mom? How do you deal with guilt? The guilt that I feel, stems from my inability to give my kids the attention they deserve. I am not around them 24/7 like a homemaker who is there for her kids most of the time. So, I make it a point to spend quality time with my kids. Please keep in mind that I am not bringing any office work home. At home, I am with my kids and giving them quality time.

Stop sabotaging your career with these common career mistakes. by Alia Booley Are you unhappy and find it challenging to succeed in your career? Are you qualified but still finding it nearly impossible to land the dream job or the promotion? Your desperate attempt to pay the bills leads you to apply for almost any job. You are anxiously awaiting a response to your application. You have received another rejection email. Your hope is gone, you feel defeated, you question your worth, and you think that you will remain in this miserable job. Regardless of our circumstances or where we are in our careers, we all strive towards success. Yet, on the way, we will all make mistakes. You can learn a lot from your mistakes, but some can do more harm than good to your career.

Here are four career mistakes that may be sabotaging your career journey. Career Mistake One: Believing your self-worth is defined by your title You believe that you must work hard to build a successful career, putting in extra hours often at the expense of your family time. You work hard to prove that you are an outstanding employee. You seek recognition from your manager, who may or may not recommend you for promotion or pay increase. But what if you don't get the raise, don't get an above-average performance appraisal rating, or don't get the promotion? Would this be confirmation you're not good enough? Now you question your self-worth; you get angry, resent your manager, and feel like a failure because you look for external validation. Whenever you question your self-worth or sacrifice your life to work at a job that makes you unhappy, it's time to make a change. Act now, update your resume, expand your network. Career Mistake Two: Not working with a mentor Unless you have a mentor, you may sabotage your career if you keep making the same mistakes. A mentor acts as a trusted advisor, holding you accountable and knowing where you need to improve. One of the most valuable things I gained from my mentor was to take ownership of my career, shift my mindset, and change my strategy. A mentor can also provide clarity, keep you focused, and keep you on track.

Career Mistake Three: You don't have a career plan There's a reason why so many people are unhappy and overwhelmed: their careers don't align with their lifestyles. Careers that do not align with your values, passion, and purpose in life can be detrimental to your mental and physical health. Why? Misalignment between your career and values could lead to depression or even physical illness. As plans are essential to any big decision in life, whether you're going on a road trip or buying a house, the same applies to your career. A career plan will help you set clear goals and ways to achieve these goals. This plan will help you identify where you are on your career path and where you need to be. With a career plan, you can track your progress, and you are therefore more likely to achieve your goals and stay motivated.

Career Mistake Four: You remain stuck in a job that makes you unhappy Are you having fun at work? Is it rewarding to work with your colleagues every day? Do you feel motivated to get up for work in the morning? Researchers found that people who enjoy their jobs are more productive, creative, and healthy. If you remain in an unfulfilling job, you may experience stress, anxiety, burnout, and even

Remember, it is never too late to start over, learn a new skill, and have fun. A career plan and a mentor can also be helpful when considering a change in your career or job.

GETTING TECH SAVVY:

WHAT IS A VPN?

People now live online, but did you always want to keep your personal information private? Well, VPN is a good place to get started. A virtual private network (VPN) is a service that helps you stay private online. A VPN creates a secure, encrypted connection between your computer and the internet, providing a kind of private tunnel for your data while using a public network. A VPN protects your IP address. Meaning that your physical location remains hidden while you are online. The conclusion here is that true anonymity is possible on the Internet. In the VPN mechanism, instead of sending Internet traffic such as online searches, uploads, and downloads directly to your Internet Service Provider (ISP), the VPN server is the source of your data. In other words, a third party cannot see the websites you visit or the data you send or receive online. The VPN filters the data and converts it into nonsense. Advantages of using a VPN •

You can stream from any location. Meaning that even if you live in another country, you can access your streaming account in the United States, for example.

Avoid censorship. Some governments have restrictions on what the public can access, but VPNs give you the freedom to browse the Web.

Along with all the advantages of a VPN, there should be some drawbacks. The disadvantage of using a VPN is that it can slow down due to the extra steps that web traffic goes through. VPNs keep your Internet browsing private, but they cannot block cookies. Tracking cookies, for example, can remain in your browser, but these can be easily removed. A VPN may keep your information online, but you are not completely private because the VPN provider has access to all your information. Choosing a trusted VPN provider is essential. Be sure to connect to your VPN before surfing the web. A good VPN encrypts your browsing activity and redirects online traffic through secure tunnels. Tips for getting the most out of your VPN service. Always use premium VPN services, choose a VPN based on what matters most, such as privacy, and then use a VPN with the best security features. Here are some VPN services: Express VPN- offers effective online protection, internet without borders, connection to any limitless bandwidth, speedy VPN servers. Norton- Secures your net connection, you could adequately connect with your favored websites, browse the net anonymously, do now no longer tune your online activity.
