EDITORIAL - James Warrener
Welcome to 2023 and the latest installment o the Terras and their campai n to stay in the Con erence South or what will be the first time ever we have spend consecutive seasons in the division (barrin its initial uise, beore TerrasStatmanpicksmeuponit!!).
We talk about stability bein key at any ootball club and that is certainly the case in our relationship with this particular division, one that we were ounder members o .
We were a solid 7th in the oundation year o Con erence South back in 2005 be ore the run to promotion under Garry Hill. It was an epic battle a ainst St Albans City in that run in and one that cemented a level o rivalry which remains to this day.
A ter two seasons at the top table o non-lea ue 2009-2010 was our next experience in this lea ue. A cash strapped and ownership tan led Terras side went down without a whimper and played in “InvestinUs” branded kit.
9 years passed in the Southern Lea ue be ore another epic title battle, this time with Taunton, saw us make Con erence South. Mark Molesley this time in the du out.
A ain our time in the division was brie . Not even a ull season as it turned out be ore a points per ame avera e saw us into the promotion playoffs.
Dart ord were despatched on penalties in the final be ore another two season National Lea ue spell ended with rele ation back in May o 2022.
Lookin at the table as we stand it's oin to be a scrap until the final day to stay up. Much as I would love to say we will be clear o the drop zone by mid March, that’s not how we do thin s here!
But the battle can be won and in the newly re-contracted Bobby Wilkinson we have a mana er with (almost) unanimous support rom the terraces and a passionate uy with a real chance to put down some roots and build us a lon lastin le acy. It’s all we have ever asked or…

Chairman's Chatter
Happy new year everyone and welcome to the first newsletter o 2023! I hope like me, you were deli hted with the announcement on Thursday last week about our mana er Bobby Wilkinson extendin his contract until 2026!
With the addition o Paul Maitland and Simon Etherin ton also remainin in their roles, this is a massive boost or the ootball club, really positive news. I hope you all see this as a statement o intent to move this club orward.
We have already demonstrated amazin teamwork with the estive raffle undraiser and it doesn't stop there!
More on that in a moment. I believe it is vital that we as a club show positive intent so that our supporters and sponsors, both current and potential ones, can see that we are a serious club lookin to push on. The stability the appointments brin can only urther this. So havin said all that, there has never been a better time to si n up to the Claret & Blue Lottery, the ootball clubs very own undraiser! It is startin to ain momentum and with your help and backin , it can only et better and provide even bi er prizes or participants, but also add vital unds to the WFC coffers!
So check it out and si n up now, it's really easy to play. Details are on the club main Website (andatthebottomo thelastpa eo thisnewsletter).
Next, some dates or your diary. The clubs next undraiser has been set or Friday 31st March 2023 when we will be holdin the Hall o Fame evenin at the club in the Wessex Loun e. We are in the very early plannin sta e and will keep you up to date as we o alon . The outline plan is or a sit down meal, auction/raffle and induction o the nominated players. We don't yet have a ticket price but rest assured it will be as low as we can possibly make it. Details announced as soon as we have them.
Also, lookin a bit urther ahead, there will be an end o season presentations in the Wessex Loun e a ter our last home ame o the season a ainst Slou h Town, Saturday 22nd April 2023, so keep an eye out or details nearer the time.
This latter event will not be a ticketed event but ree to all to come alon and enjoy. Fin ers crossed we can toast to our survival in this lea ue!
So there is plenty to look orward to and also lots to be optimistic about! We are under no illusions there is still plenty o hard ra t ahead o us, but the positive news ives everyone that boost they need, helps to rechar e those batteries so that we can o a ain.
As ever, thanks or readin , until next time, stay well and stay sa e.
Best wishes to you all and thank you or your continued support.

What non-lea ue means
I saw this the other day about a ame up here in Lincolnshire where non-lea ue attendances are up well over 100% in most areas. I ound it really interestin that more and more people are ettin behind their local team and understandin that there is more to ootball than cable TV and 4 new replica kits per season.
Bourne play at step 6 (one below Portland) and have avera ed close to 300 with a top attendance o 800.
Oh and they play in claret and blue which always helps!!
