Environmental programme and responsibility: Pyhätunturi is the first carbon-neutral ski resort in the Nordic countries and its goal is to be the cleanest ski resort in the world. Their recycling is efficient. They capture snow with the help of snow barriers, use renewable energy, and have stopped setting off fireworks, among other initiatives. They especially support skiing as a hobby for children and young people. 10-year-olds in surrounding municipalities get a free season ticket and other residents get discount. 75% of the company’s result is invested back into business development.
