Fire Testing Technician

Job Location: DUL House, Barfrestone, Kent

Job Purpose: To perform fire resistance tests on various products in accordance with relevant BS, EN, and ISO standards, using various fire furnaces.

MAIN DUTIES

• Receiving and checking the customers product(s) to be fire tested, ensuring it meets the requirements and is suitable for fire testing on the various fire testing rigs.

• Setting up the fire computer software on the fire testing rig, ensuring it is calibrated and functioning correctly, prior to testing.

• Carry out fire tests on various products, adhering to BS, EN, or ISO standards, and to the customers’ requirements. This includes entering data on worksheets.

• Collate all fire testing data so that it can then be used in a customer fire test report.

• Maintain the fire testing rigs and associated software and report any errors or malfunctions to the manager.

• During slack periods, assisting with any office duties that the manager may require.

Position ideal for someone who has worked in a Fire Test Laboratory before.

Person to have some engineering background and good at Mathematics.

The role will involve the psycho-social assessment of those who have presented in crisis. They will be required to provide specialist advice regarding mental illness to service users, carers and other practitioners.

The successful candidates will have responsibility for the effective management of a shared caseload of children and young people referred into the service. The service provides the following functions; urgent triage, assessment for people in crisis, home based treatment, facilitating early discharge from hospital, and supporting the coordination of Section 136 referrals. Safeguarding Education Specialist

Salary: £41,659 to £47,672 a year Per Annum

The post-holder will play in integral part within the Trust's Safeguarding Team, fulfilling the role of the subject matter expert for safeguarding education. Fire Testing Technician

Job Location: DUL House, Barfrestone, Kent

Job Purpose: To perform fire resistance tests on various products in accordance with relevant BS, EN, and ISO standards, using various fire furnaces.

MAIN DUTIES

• Receiving and checking the customers product(s) to be fire tested, ensuring it meets the requirements and is suitable for fire testing on the various fire testing rigs.

• Setting up the fire computer software on the fire testing rig, ensuring it is calibrated and functioning correctly, prior to testing.

• Carry out fire tests on various products, adhering to BS, EN, or ISO standards, and to the customers’ requirements. This includes entering data on worksheets.

• Collate all fire testing data so that it can then be used in a customer fire test report.

• Maintain the fire testing rigs and associated software and report any errors or malfunctions to the manager.

• During slack periods, assisting with any office duties that the manager may require.

Position ideal for someone who has worked in a Fire Test Laboratory before.

Person to have some engineering background and good at Mathematics.

We are looking for staff with a minimum of 3 years practical work experience in a Housing related environment providing advice on prevention of homelessness, housing advice and assistance.

It is not essential but advantageous if you have carried out homelessness assessments under S184 (Part VII, HA1996) applying relevant Legislation, Case Law, the Homelessness Code of Guidance 1996 and Homeless Reduction Act 2017.
