Going since 1994, this vibrant annual event is one of 20 international Worldloppet cross-country skiing racing events. Those brave enough to sign up can choose between four races and either discipline -- classic or skate. The Straggle Muster welcomes family groups of all ages and abilities including newcomers to the sport. For even more of a challenge, try the Snow Rake or Merino Muster. Once the land where the Lee family used to graze merino sheep, Snow Farm country consists of 55km of trails and takes in views of the bubbling Meg River. It is now run by a charitable trust and NZ’s home of crosscountry skiing. The race will take place on August 31st at Cardrona Valley Rd, Wanaka. There are different race options that
include the Under 10s (1km), Straggle Muster (7km), Snow Rake (21km) and the Merino Muster (42km) To refuel you can sip ‘n’ snack at feed stations spread around the course. To encourage youngsters to Ardmoreon Street complete the race, there will also be a lolly 19 station Ph 443 7868 the Straggle Muster (7km).
