Christmas Street Party
To prove there is an upside to every situation, residents of the 12 terraced houses from 277 to 319 Millwater Parkway literally went into the street for their annual block Christmas party this year, taking full advantage of the current road closure for wastewater tunnelling.
The celebration was centred on No.313 to better appreciate the Christmas decorating efforts of Alan Geddes and partner Sarah Smith who, for the second year running, won the award for the best decorated townhouse in Millwater.
Usually held in one of the participating terraces’ front courtyards, more than a dozen neighbours brought picnic tables and chairs out to the middle of the road and happily partied on in the absence of passing traffic. While the adults got on with the serious business of festive feasting, children and grandchildren performed circuits on bikes, scooters and hover boards and drew chalk pictures on the road.
