Clearing the Clutter

What am I going to wear? Yet you have a wardrobe filled with items… sound familiar?

With many of us so time-poor these days, it really makes sense to clear your wardrobe. A wardrobe that is clear of the clutter, clears the mind. It is the first step to getting organised and getting your life back in order.

Yet why do we struggle to clear things out?

Here are some stumbling blocks stopping you from getting your wardrobe cleared.

You spent your hard earned $ on that, how can you possibly get rid of it? You were given it as a gift and don’t have the heart to let them know or let it go

It is sentimental

You might lose some weight and get into it soon

The mere fact that we only wear 20% of our clothes 80% of the time, indicates that we have far too many items cluttering our wardrobe!

How do we get over these blocks? I suggest trying everything on and asking yourself some honest questions:

Does this flatter me? Does this colour suit me? Could it be dressed up and down? Can it be fixed or is it beyond repair? Does it suit my CURRENT lifestyle? Does it suit my personality?

Now that space is cleared in your wardrobe, it is important to organise it in a manner that you can visually see what you have, giving you an opportunity to wear everything you own, plus stopping you from purchasing duplicate items or items that you do not need. You will be amazed at how much time you save yourself in the morning, with one less thing to stress about.

Starting this process with your wardrobe, you will open yourself up to new opportunities elsewhere in your life. Feel the freedom!
