They say home is where the heart is, and for more than 100 years, Jupiter has held the hearts of thousands of individuals. Many have called Jupiter home, and over the years, the homes of some of the earliest Jupiter residents have become cherished parts of our community. A celebration of Jupiter’s 100th birthday is as much a celebration of these early individuals and the historic homes they left us as it is of Jupiter itself.
Several of these early homes have received a Locally Designated Site distinction from the Town and are now featured on the Town’s Historic Map. The Sims House, now a popular local restaurant, celebrated its 100th birthday in December 2024, while the historic Dubois Pioneer Home is the centerpiece attraction at Dubois Park. The Councilor’s House, still a private residence today, housed three of the Town’s early Council members, while the Brooker House and Alice Kitching Benton House were home to some of Jupiter’s early families.

Home is more than just a place – it’s where we gather, create, and unwind. Whether you’re making morning coffee, entertaining guests, or indulging in a cozy movie night, dressing stylish yet comfortably can elevate your everyday moments. Here’s how to curate the perfect look for some of your favorite spaces at home.
Kitchen Chic: Effortlessly Stylish While You Sip & Sauté
If you spend most of your time in the kitchen a lightweight long-sleeve mini dress is the perfect go-to. Minis are versatile and can easily transition from day to evening. Opt for a fun yet subtle print and keep accessories minimal. Think delicate gold jewelry or simple stud earrings for an effortless look!
Lounging in Your Home Theater: Cozy, But Make it Chic
Movie night at home doesn’t mean sacrificing style. Keep things comfortable yet polished with simple silk cargo pants, paired with a jewel-tone button
down blouse. Tie it in a knot for a playful touch that feels relaxed yet sophisticated. Whether you’re watching with family or enjoying a quiet date night, this look is equal parts effortless and elegant!
Hosting: The Art of Entertaining in Style
Jupiter is known for its breathtaking water views, and when hosting outdoors, less is more. A flowy, printed midi dress is always a stunning choice. Pair it with a standout necklace. Think coral, starfish, or bold jewel tones to add personality without overwhelming the look. A simple hoop earring ties everything together, ensuring you’re the ultimate “hostess with the mostess”!
Girls’ Night In: Casual, Cool, & Effortlessly Chic
For a laid-back evening with your besties, keep it casual with your favorite pair of wide-leg, midrise indigo denim. This silhouette pairs beautifully with ivory or cream-toned cropped knit tops. Keep makeup light or go for a no-makeup look to maintain an effortless glow. Sometimes, the simplest outfit exudes the most confidence!

What does the idea of “home” mean to you? For most, it signifies more than a financial asset and carries a great amount of emotional worth. The concept of “home” suggests a sense of belonging, acceptance, safety, comfort, community, and special memories made with family and friends. Feeling “at home” for extended periods of time throughout our lives can lead to positive well-being and contribute to our overall happiness.
Whether you live alone or with family, making your physical space into a home consists of transforming your environment into a personal sanctuary. Here are some ways that we can make homes our own:
• Choose décor that fits your unique personality and style.
• Highlight special memories by hanging photography or art creating nostalgia.
• Incorporate plants, natural light, and comfort in spaces to make home cozier.
• Focus on functionality with organization and storage.
• Prioritize creating spaces to enjoy quality time with family and friends.
• Personalize outdoor spaces with beautiful flowers, vegetable/herb gardens, or butterfly terrariums.
• Foster emotional connection at home through gratitude, healthy communication, and creating fun pastimes with friends/families (game night, family walks, weekly cook outs, celebrating special moments at home).
Making a home in lovely Jupiter includes creating traditions with our friends and family that can

incorporate the beautiful nature and outdoor recreation that is available to us year-round. Here is a list of my family’s favorite local spots that have made us feel at home here in Jupiter for 16 years: bicycling/kayaking through Riverbend Park, exploring Blowing Rocks Nature Preserve, swimming at Dubois Park, kayaking the Loxahatchee River or boating along the Intracoastal Waterway, appreciating the gorgeous sunrises/sunsets, fun family dinners at Guanabanas, and enjoying yearly events like the Holiday Boat Parade.
Home can keep us grounded in our roots and contributes to our sense of identity as we move through the beautiful journey of life. Our innate need to feel connected and establish healthy bonds is as essential to our emotional and physical well-being as food and safety, and it starts at home. Creating a home also includes giving our loved ones our full attention, free from distractions. There is a Japanese saying called, ichigo ichie, which means that each encounter is unique and special, and those moments deserve all our attention. That is how we create lasting memories that remind us of home…by experiencing them with intention and purpose.
Carri Lager has 16 years experience as a Jupiter licensed psychologist and photographer, capturing the natural beauty of our town.

Jupiter’s proximity to the water makes it attractive to many with the means to afford yachts and other watercraft.

When it comes to luxury living, Jupiter sets the bar high. Known for its stunning coastline, picturesque waterways, and enviable privacy, our town has become the destination of choice for U.S. presidents, professional athletes, and A-list celebrities. With notable names like Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, and Nick Saban calling Jupiter home, the lure of our town is obvious. But Jupiter isn’t just about high-profile residents—it’s about the elevated lifestyle they’ve helped shape, one that rivals much larger cities in sophistication and charm.
From exceptional dining to boutique shopping, Jupiter offers a unique blend of small-town vibes with big-city amenities, making it one of the most desirable places to live—not just in Florida, but nationwide.
A Lifestyle Elevated by Influence
Jupiter may be a town of modest size, but it boasts amenities that far exceed expectations. For food lovers, the local dining scene is impressively diverse, offering everything from casual waterfront eateries to fine dining establishments that attract foodies from across the region. Whether you’re craving fresh seafood or global cuisine, Jupiter’s restaurants cater to all tastes. Shopping and entertainment are no different. Jupiter’s array of boutiques, galleries, and local markets offers residents a high-end yet approachable experience.
This elevated lifestyle is part of what makes the area so attractive—not just for celebrities, but for anyone looking to live somewhere that offers both luxury and community charm.
When power players like professional athletes, Hollywood stars, and even U.S. presidents settle in Jupiter, the impact on the local real estate market is immediate and profound:
1. Increased Prestige: The presence of high-profile residents elevates the reputation of the entire area, turning homes into lifestyle investments. Buyers aren’t just acquiring property—they’re buying into exclusivity.
2. Demand for Luxury: Waterfront estates, golf course villas, and gated communities are in constant demand, with properties often selling before they hit the market.
3. Market Stability: High-caliber residents create stability in property values. Even in challenging economic times, Jupiter’s desirability keeps the market buoyant.
What sets Jupiter apart isn’t just its A-list residents—it’s the way their influence has elevated the entire community.
Admirals Cove is among the luxury communities in Jupiter that attract the rich and famous to the town.
While many towns this size might struggle to sustain a wide variety of restaurants, shops, and cultural activities, Jupiter thrives with world-class options that enhance the local lifestyle.
One of Jupiter’s greatest strengths is its balance of privacy and accessibility. Neighborhoods like Admirals Cove and Jupiter Island offer seclusion for those who need it, while the town’s friendly atmosphere makes even the biggest stars feel at home. It’s not uncommon to bump into a professional golfer grabbing coffee or a politician walking their dog. Here, the lines between celebrity and
community blur in the best possible way.
Jupiter’s charm lies in its unique ability to combine luxury and community. It’s a place where you can enjoy waterfront sunsets, world-class amenities, and a supportive, tight-knit vibe all at once. Our town’s elevated lifestyle, fueled by the presence of influential residents, has cemented its status as one of the most desirable places to call home.
Whether you’re drawn by the dining scene, the high-end shopping, or the prestige of living among power players, one thing is clear: Life in Jupiter is simply unmatched.

Home is more than a roof over our heads. It is the first classroom, the safest haven, and the heart of every child’s world. A well-nurtured home environment lays the foundation for children to grow, learn, and flourish. It’s where their personalities take shape, their dreams are nurtured, and their sense of belonging is secured.
Children thrive when home is a place of warmth, stability, and connection. They learn by observing and interacting with their environment. A home filled with love and understanding fosters their emotional well-being, helping them build resilience to navigate life’s challenges. Simple things, like a consistent family routine or shared meals, give children the structure they need to feel secure.
Physical spaces also play a crucial role. A home doesn’t have to be grand or perfectly organized to support a child’s growth. What matters is creating an environment that inspires curiosity and creativity. A quiet corner for reading, a table for art projects, or a backyard patch for exploring nature can become places of discovery and joy.
Equally important is fostering open communication. A home where children feel heard and valued strengthens their confidence and self-esteem. Parents and caregivers can cultivate this by engaging in meaningful conversations, listening without judgment, and encouraging children to express their thoughts and feelings.
Beyond emotional and physical needs, a thriving home nurtures a child’s sense of identity and cultural roots. Tra-
ditions, family stories, and shared values connect children to their heritage, giving them a strong foundation to stand on as they grow.
Of course, no home is perfect. Challenges arise, and mistakes happen. What matters is how families navigate these moments together. Modeling empathy, problem-solving, and forgiveness teaches children critical life skills and reinforces that home is a place of unconditional support.
As society becomes increasingly fast-paced and technology-driven, it’s more important than ever to prioritize the home as a sanctuary for children. Taking time to unplug, share quality moments, and create a sense of togetherness strengthens the family bond and allows children to flourish. We have ample opportunities to spend quality time outdoors in our beautiful South Florida weather!
Home is where the heart is, but for children, it is also where their potential unfolds. By creating a space filled with love, security, and opportunities for growth, we give them the best gift of all—a solid foundation to thrive in an ever-changing world.

Whoever said that kitchens would one day be obsolete clearly hasn’t observed the huge rooms given over to cooking and dining in new homes today.
Kitchens are still gathering spots and workplaces for the cooks, according to designers who specialize in creating the rooms for home builders.
But trends come and go where colors, textures and function figure in.
More often than not, the rooms are used for much more than cooking and serving.
Beth Hales, owner and designer of Custom Cabinet Designs in Jupiter, said people still love to be where the action is. She’s currently designing kitchens in multi-million dollar homes in Admiral’s Cove.
“Center islands remain popular, especially those with seating,” she said. Guests can enjoy wine or a cocktail and watch the show as their meal takes shape. Many feature wine racks or refrigerated storage under them, along with wine serving ware.
Rooms are designed for attractive light, too, day and night, with sweeping windows or skylights to let in natural rays, and dramatic lighting that illuminates back-
Drawers feature outlets and trays so electronics can charge out of sight, enhancing the room’s aesthetics.
splashes from behind. Hanging fixtures on dimmers set a mood.
Designs overall are bolder and bigger for the larger rooms, such as big stove hoods encased in wood paneling to blend in, usually featuring beaded or reeded white oak.
Cabinets with toe-kick drawers are designed for storage, making them ideal for large platters and baking sheets. Often, solid panels are used on the doors and drawers, and hardware is hidden, leaving an unbroken visual line.
“It’s a popular choice here in South Florida,” said Danya Uptegrove, a designer for Schrapper’s Fine Cabinetry in Jupiter. They work throughout the Jupiter-Tequesta area in both new and remodeled homes.
“They come down from the North, and want to get away from dark, heavy woods and overall, keep the rooms brighter.”
She said the neutral grays and whites of the minimalist trend a few years ago are giving way to warmer, organic hues.
“Colors are trending to natural and earth tones, but moodier ones, like deep sage, and terra cotta. They’re still mixing white in with these, but it’s the warmer whites, not the bright whites.”
Glossy finishes are out, she said. “They’re harder to maintain.”
Hales noted that cabinetry design still trends to the sleek. “Floating cabinets — they don’t go to the ceiling — and floating shelves are popular.”
Solid panels are used on the doors and drawers, and hardware is hidden — no hinges or handles are visible, leaving an unbroken visual line. “It’s uncluttered. Small appliances are behind doors, counters are open.”
But function remains a priority. Small drawers feature outlets and trays so electronics can charge out of sight. Another hides a roll of paper towels, with room behind it for boxed papers. Deep pull-outs hide trash and recy-
cling bins; swing-out baskets in corner cabinets contain things like food storage boxes or pot lids.
“They want to hide everything,” Hales said, “Keep countertops clean, and clutter out of sight.”
Cabinets also go to the floor, with useable space never wasted. Their depth make them ideal for large platters and baking sheets, or they function as a step, used to reach the taller cabinets above.
“The toe-kicks are drawers; you use your foot to open them. You don’t have to bend down, so it leaves your hands free.”
Horizontal surfaces have changed as well, Hales said. Woods are cut horizontally to keep a linear look. Countertops are rift-cut oak — a popular choice, along with quartz, or quartzite, she said. Marble upkeep is tedious, so it’s out.
They’re thick-cut, too. “They have 2-inch, sometimes 3-inch thicknesses. It’s just for design.”
Uptegrove is seeing a newer trend in porcelain countertops. “Some have induction elements built underneath so cooks can utilize the linear space as a counter as well as a stove,” she said.
“Because it’s the contents of the pot that heat up, and not the element, you can put your hand directly on the countertop even when it’s cooking. People in condos and smaller kitchens love these — it gives them more working countertop space.”
Double-duty, high end appliances are trending, too, she said, with steam ovens a top seller.
“Anything to speed cooking,” Hales said.
In these, the kitchen can switch from baking bread to spa mode and steam towels or rocks for a yoga session. Washers and dryers are positioned in butler pantries as well, set just off the kitchen. These also feature small service sinks and storage.
Smaller appliances are hidden behind fold-up doors to blend in. Microwaves and dishwashers are now in drawers, often multiple units in one kitchen.
Function and easy-clean features work their way into details such as light switches, faucets, drawers and cabinets that are touchless and/or motion sensor activated.
Hales builds in conveniences and functional spaces whenever possible, and shows a knife drawer that features vertical storage among tiny, flexible rods of sharpening material.
“As you pull out your knife, the rods sharpen the blades,” she said.
Drawers for utensils and flatware have sliding trays that can be arranged to accommodate their contents. Vertical pull-out cabinets for spices, or drawers to stack them in for quick-reach are popular.
Faucets turn on with the wave of a hand. Over-thesink cutting boards and drain boards make the two-faucet sinks a prep workstation to free up more counter space.
While these high-end kitchens are designed for multi-million dollar homes, many of the features can be pulled for modest kitchens as well, Hales said.
“We work in older homes and condos with small kitchens. You can still outfit them with a lot of these features,” she said. Standard cabinetry sizes means most, though not all, will fit older homes.
She advises shopping for well made products that will stand up to the usage a kitchen takes.
As for trends, Hales said, “They come and go, but if you’re building to live in it, choose what you like and what works for you.”

March attracts thousands of winter-weary tourists to the paradise we call home. Spring training, spring break and spring-like weather make Jupiter THE place to be! Tourists come and go but our magnificent natural resources and their inhabitants remain. With the right knowledge and your help, they will continue to drive local environmental tourism.
One of the most iconic sights in our area is the gentle manatee. Admire manatees from a distance, respecting their protected status under the Marine Mammal Protection Act. It is tempting to touch them or feed them water from a hose, but that is both harmful and illegal. Crystal River is the only place in Florida where it is legal to interact with manatees under strict guidelines.
These slow-moving creatures can be found year-round grazing peacefully on lush seagrass beds. Seagrass is vital not only to manatees, but to the entire marine ecosystem by providing food and habitat for countless species. Seagrass beds are sensitive, it is best to avoid them. But if you can’t please tread lightly and avoid dragging anchors across them.
The Indian River Lagoon is the one of most bio-diverse bodies of water in the continental U.S. Cushion Stars and nine-armed sea stars line our Intracoastal Waterway, feeding on the extensive variety of mollusks, crustaceans, worms and fish. Cushion stars are protected and both species are incredibly sensitive to being handled; do not touch or pick them up so that these creatures have a better chance of survival for future generations to enjoy.
Jupiter real estate is in high demand and humans aren’t the only ones in the market! Consider leaving that empty shell you find on the sandbar, there is likely a hermit crab looking to expand from its current shell. Removing shells with living creatures disrupts the ecosystem and taking protected species like the Queen Conch can lead to hefty fines.
Our proximity to the Gulf Stream brings us some of the best fishing, as well as highly protected species migrating through our area. Most recently, right and humpback whales have been spotted offshore as they migrate south for calving, making any encounter a rare and awe-inspiring event. Living where others vacation is a gift and protecting what draws them here is our responsibility. Humans tend to protect what they love - connect with nature, let’s paddle!
For over 15 years, Alex has immersed herself in the local paddling community as a guide, instructor, coach and local advocate. New paddlers are her specialty.

Home is where the heart is! How many times have we said this or heard this?
Owning a dog brings immeasurable joy and companionship, but it can also bring much undue stress, when we just can’t get our dogs to listen or behave the way we need them to. Many of my clients have stopped having friends or family over because of their dog’s disruptive behavior.
It’s at this point that our home no longer feels like our home, nor is it a respite from life’s stressors
We want you to enjoy the relationship, and yes, it’s very much a relationship with your dog, whether you’re a single person or have a large family.
It’s important to remember that dogs will view the relationship differently with each member of the family, whether they are toddlers, teens or adults. Dogs do not know where you land in the family, but rather your individual relationship with them.
Dogs, like humans, have unique personalities and behavioral tendencies. However, certain behaviors, such as excessive barking, jumping, demanding attention, aggression, separation anxiety, or destructive chewing, can quickly change the way we think of owning a dog.
If your dog exhibits any of these behaviors consistently, despite your best efforts to correct them, give us a call.
We can quickly assess the root cause of the behavior and change it. Carrie MonteLeon is also well versed with many advanced techniques that go far beyond basic commands, ensuring that your dog learns to respond reliably, and becoming the family member
that you dreamed of having, even in distracting or challenging environments. Remember that our home is where our heart is!

Renovating your home is more than just a project; it’s a chance to enhance your property’s value, functionality, and appeal. Whether you’re looking to rent, sell, or stay in your home for years to come, tailoring your renovations to your specific goals is key.
A great way to approach this process is by breaking renovations into categories that fit your goals. This method, known as the “Three Tiers of Home Renovation,” helps prioritize your time, budget, and effort depending on your specific situation. Whether you’re preparing to rent, sell, or live in the home, defining your goals early ensures you invest wisely while avoiding unnecessary upgrades.
If your home’s future involves tenants, think efficiency over extravagance. Focus on these essentials:
• Repairs & Maintenance: Ensure all major systems (HVAC, plumbing, and electrical) are fully functional. Tenants value reliability over luxury.
• Affordable Aesthetics: Keep costs down with durable, low-maintenance materials like laminate countertops and vinyl flooring. Renters care about cleanliness
and utility more than high-end finishes.
• ROI Consideration: While the immediate financial return may seem minimal, maintaining functionality ensures fewer long-term costs and consistent rental income.
If you’re planning to sell your home, this tier is all about creating broad market appeal without over-investing.
• First Impressions Matter: Invest in curb appeal. Fresh landscaping, a coat of paint, or a modern front door can set the tone.
• Targeted Updates: Update kitchens and bathrooms using builder-grade materials to avoid overinvesting in taste-specific choices. Buyers want a home with potential—not a finished product they’ll undo.
• Inspections & Repairs: Address major issues before they become negotiation hurdles. A smooth inspection process reassures buyers.
• ROI Consideration: Renovate just enough to appeal broadly—over-customization can be a financial misstep.
For homeowners planning to settle in, this tier focuses on creating a space that’s uniquely yours.
• High-End Upgrades: From quartz countertops to energy-efficient appliances, invest in features that enhance daily living.
• Customization: Create spaces that suit your lifestyle—a cozy reading nook, a luxurious spa bathroom, or a dream kitchen.
• Future-Proofing: If a move is possible in the next 5-7 years, keep designs classic and neutral. This ensures you can easily adjust for market tastes later.
ROI Consideration: Though financial returns may not be immediate, the personal value is immeasurable—it’s your sanctuary, after all!
Before launching into a renovation, it’s crucial to understand your home’s history. If it was previously an investment property, the condition may differ from a traditional family home. Rental properties often endure heavier wear and tear, so systems and finishes might need closer scrutiny. Look out for signs of deferred maintenance or quick, low-quality updates meant to pass inspection but not last. Understanding the home’s use helps you anticipate potential issues and allocate your renovation budget wisely.
Jupiter’s unique coastal charm adds another layer to your renovation strategy. To align with the market:
• Emphasize Outdoor Living: Patio spaces,
screened porches, or lush landscaping can transform your backyard into an extension of your living area.
• Weather-Resistant Features: Given Jupiter’s coastal location, prioritize materials and designs that can handle heat, humidity, and storms—like impact-resistant windows, durable metal roofing, and moisture-resistant finishes.
• Coastal Style: Stick to light, airy designs that echo the beauty of Jupiter’s beachside vibes, with natural textures, soft blues, and sandy neutrals to capture that laid-back, tropical elegance.
Whether you’re revitalizing your rental, preparing to sell, or making your forever home a paradise, approaching renovations with a clear plan ensures your efforts and money are well spent. Define your goals, understand your home’s history, and break down your projects into manageable tiers to set yourself up for success. Renovate smart, and you’ll not only increase value but also create a home that resonates with renters, buyers, or your family.
Let’s make this renovation season a success!

In the ever-evolving world of interior design, kitchen cabinets are no longer just about functionality; they have become a statement piece. Homeowners and designers are shifting away from traditional uniform cabinetry in favor of unique, custom fronts that reflect personal style and add character to kitchens.
One of the most prominent trends is the use of mixed materials. Cabinet fronts now feature combinations like wood with metal inlays, glass panels with intricate patterns, or even stone and concrete facades. This juxtaposition creates visual interest and gives kitchens a bespoke, high-end feel.
Texture is another key trend. Matte finishes, fluted or ribbed designs, and hand-carved wooden fronts bring depth and dimension to cabinet surfaces. These tactile elements enhance the sensory experience of a kitchen, making it not just a functional space but also an artistic one.
Bold colors are taking center stage as well. While white and neutral tones remain popular, more homeowners are embracing vibrant hues like emerald green, navy blue, or terracotta. Paired with unique hardware, such as brushed
gold or leather pulls, these colors turn cabinets into focal points.
For the eco-conscious, sustainable materials and repurposed cabinet fronts are gaining traction. Reclaimed wood, recycled glass, and bamboo not only reduce environmental impact but also add a story to the kitchen’s design.
Open shelving and hybrid designs, where cabinets combine closed fronts with open sections, allow for a balance of storage and display. This trend lets homeowners showcase curated collections while keeping everyday essentials hidden.
Unique kitchen cabinet fronts embody the growing desire for spaces that are as functional as they are expressive. With endless possibilities, they are becoming a hallmark of contemporary kitchen design, ensuring that no two kitchens are alike.

As a dedicated healthcare provider, my goal is to help you achieve long-term wellness and pain relief. While in-office treatments play a crucial role in your care, I also want to empower you with simple, effective athome remedies that complement your treatment plan. By taking just 15-30 minutes out of your busy schedule, you can enhance blood circulation, correct muscle imbalances, and manage pain more effectively between visits. Working together, we can create a wellness strategy that keeps you feeling your best every day.
At-Home Exercises for Muscle Pain & Tension Relief
Foam Rolling for Muscle Relief
Foam rolling is a self-myofascial release technique that targets tight muscles and fascia. It helps alleviate muscle knots and promotes relaxation. You can also utilize lacrosse balls or even PVC pipes as tools for this technique.
How to Foam Roll:
1. Place the foam roller under the affected area (e.g., upper back, thighs, or calves).
2. Slowly roll around, pausing on any areas that feel particularly tight or tender. 3. Hold each area for about 5-6 complete breaths and move on to another trigger point, focusing on deep, slow movements and controlled breathing.
Gentle Neck and Shoulder Stretches
Tension headaches and neck pain often result from tight muscles that pull from the shoulders into the neck. Stretching can help release tension in these areas.
1. Slowly tilt your head toward one shoulder, feeling the stretch along the side of your neck.
2. Hold for 20-30 seconds, then repeat on the other side.
3. For added relief, gently press on your head to deepen the stretch.
Shoulder Rolls:
1. Stand or sit up straight.
2. Roll your shoulders forward in a circular motion for 10-15 repetitions, then reverse the direction.
3. This will help release tension in the upper back and shoulders, where much of the stress from poor posture accumulates.
Using a combination of heat and cold therapy can be an effective way to relieve tension headaches and neck pain.
• Heat Therapy: Use a warm compress or heating pad to relax tight muscles in the neck and shoulders. Apply for 15-20 minutes to ease stiffness and promote blood flow.
• Cold Therapy: Follow heat application with an ice pack wrapped in a towel on your neck for 10-15 minutes to reduce inflammation and numb pain.
• Alternating Therapy: Switching between heat and cold therapy can provide optimal relief—start with heat to loosen muscles, then apply cold to minimize swelling and discomfort.
Your health is in your hands, and small daily efforts can lead to lasting improvements. Incorporating these at-home remedies into your routine can help relieve pain, improve mobility, and support overall well-being between professional treatments. Start today— commit to just a few minutes of self-care and experience the benefits for yourself. If pain persists or worsens, don’t hesitate to reach out to a healthcare professional for further guidance.

In Jupiter, we take pride in our homes, scenic waterfronts, and active lifestyle. Whether it’s boating on the Loxahatchee River, golfing at Abacoa, or walking along Jupiter Beach, good health is key to enjoying it all.
As an ultrasound technologist for 25 years, I’ve seen how preventative screenings can detect health issues before symptoms appear - just like a home inspection catches small issues before they turn into costly repairs.
Routine Maintenance: Your Health vs. Your Home
The Walls: Your Arteries – Strong arteries keep blood flowing, just like sturdy walls support a house. Plaque buildup (like rusted pipes) can increase stroke risk.
The Plumbing: Your Organs – A liver overloaded with fat functions like clogged pipes. Ultrasound can detect fatty liver early, helping prevent diabetes.
The Electrical System: Your Heart – A well-functioning heart, like a good circuit breaker, keeps everything running smoothly. Blockages and circulation issues can be found with imaging before symptoms arise.
The Building Blocks of Health
1. Nutrition: Fueling Your Body Like a Well-Maintained Home
Healthy Fats (olive oil, seafood) = A strong roof protecting you.
Lean Proteins (fresh fish, chicken) = The structural foundation.
Fruits & Vegetables = Insulation, keeping everything running efficiently.
Jupiter Lifestyle Tip: Take advantage of fresh seafood
and local farmers’ markets to fuel your body.
2. Movement: Daily Upkeep for Longevity
Cardio = Sweeping the porch—simple but necessary.
Strength Training = Reinforcing the foundation—prevents muscle loss.
Stretching = Checking for leaks—keeps you flexible and strong.
3. Preventative Screenings: The Health Inspection That Could Save Your Life
Carotid Ultrasound - Detects plaque buildup, reducing stroke risk.
Abdominal Aorta (AAA) Scan - Finds weak spots in the aorta before rupture.
Heart Ultrasound (Echo) – Checks the function of the heart muscle, bloodflow and valves.
Final Thoughts: Protect Your Most Important Home—Your Body
Would you ignore a leaking roof? No. So don’t ignore your health.
Eat well.
Move daily.
Get regular preventative ultrasound screenings—just like a home inspection, it could save you from costly health issues down the road.

Home is more than a place, it’s a feeling, a sanctuary, and a reflection of who we are. While we often think of our homes as the physical spaces we inhabit, our truest and most sacred home is within us: our body is our temple here on earth.
Just as we tend to our living spaces with care by dusting, organizing, and refreshing, we must also nurture and honor the home within. Our body is the vessel through which we experience life, the sanctuary that holds our heart, spirit, and essence. It is where healing begins and where our soul finds refuge.
As we enter March, a season of renewal and awakening, it’s the perfect time to reconnect with your inner sanctuary. Spring invites us to declutter and refresh, not only our surroundings but also our physical and emotional selves. Detoxify your body, clear your mind, and invite harmony into your sacred space.
At Agape Healing Arts, we believe in treating your body with the reverence it deserves. Like any cherished home, it needs maintenance, love, and attention. Practices such as acupuncture, colon hydrotherapy, lymphatic drainage, and sound healing can help release what no longer serves you, creating space for vitality and renewal. These holistic therapies are like opening the windows of your inner home, letting fresh air and
light pour in.
Remember, your body is not just a house for your spirit, it is a temple. It is the foundation of your well-being, the sanctuary where your heart beats and your soul flourishes. Caring for it is not a luxury, it’s an act of self-love.
This March, I invite you to reflect. How are you caring for your home, both within and around you? Let this be a season of intentional renewal, a time to honor the sacred space you call your own. After all, home is where the heart truly resides.

We all experience those times when it can be challenging to hear in noisy restaurants or crowded parties, but what about the quiet times when you’re at home and want to do something simple? Something such as wanting to hear your children or grandchildren or even just watching the TV and you just can’t make out what’s being said. That’s when hearing loss really becomes frustrating. Luckily there are new solutions on the market.
Until now, even the best heading aids sounded like hearing aids. That’s all changed with sound processor speed technology increasing. The new devices can process sound with lightning speed, so there is none of the delay that causes that annoying “tinny” artificial sound. Just pure, natural sound so you hear every “moment”, with sound that over 90% of wearers are satisfied with.
A new technology trademarked by Widex Moment has created an innovative alternative, Puresound™ Technology, changing the game to deliver the most pure, natural sound ever.
Typically, sound processed in a hearing aid reaches the eardrum later than sound heard directly. And when these two out of sync signals mix, you get an artificial
sound. But now you can hear every moment like you used to thanks to the increased processing speed and intelligent algorithms from the PureSound™ Technology team. This tech involves an algorithm that works in real-time to analyze and compensate for the interference. This reduces the artificial sound and provides a more authentic listening experience.
It also has app integration but unlike other old tech hearing aids, this is one of the best and most intuitive apps we have seen, with volume and environmental change settings to let you personalize the way you use the hearing aids.
Thanks to this new technology these devices will not only help in those predictable situations like noisy restaurants and parties but also at home with hearing your loved one’s voices and making television watching enjoyable and understandable again.

In a nondescript industrial park off Interstate 95, a family-owned business is breathing new life into old-world craftsmanship. Maurice’s Furnishings has spent decades perfecting the art of repurposing antique architectural elements, creating one-of-a-kind furniture and home decor that blends the past and present.
A hands-on, creative approach is at the heart of the success of Maurice’s Furnishings. The company sources wood from around the world and then incorporates it into bespoke furniture.
The showroom and workshop at 950 Jupiter Park Drive is currently brimming with up to 500 doors from Egypt. They are being reborn as headboards, cabinets, closets, and yes, interior doors.
“I actually went to Egypt myself,” Maurice Jonker said. “I go to these salvage yards and there is this one dealer that we buy from who had a whole warehouse full. So we just go in and hand-select the ones we want.”
Run by Maurice and Wendy Jonker, the 44-year-old business was started by Maurice Jonker Sr. with a storefront in Juno Beach after he migrated from the Netherlands. He specialized in importing European pine furniture and antiques. Maurice Sr. and his wife Tony remain active in the business.
Maurice’s Furnishings also makes high-quality antique reproductions, some refined at the warehouse but mostly at a manufacturing facility in Port St. Lucie. These pieces are made to look weathered and give a room character and pop through the color and texture of an original piece of high-end carpentry, Wendy said.
“We used to restore antiques and pull them apart, make them bigger, modify them,” she said. “So after doing that, we decided we can build these ourselves by now.”
Wendy Jonker is also from Holland where her family is in the tulip business. She met Maurice when she was 19 after traveling to see the United
States. Both families played Cupid. She also runs a small clothing boutique at the showroom – and yes the pieces are as eye-catching as the furniture.
Maurice Jonker was born with a hammer in his hand, learning the trade of carpentry from his father. “It was almost something that was natural, to follow my dad’s footsteps,” he reflected. “It’s a trade, it’s something you grow up with, and it’s something you follow.”
He currently is designing, building and installing a kitchen for a client in Puerto Rico. When it comes to kitchens, new synthetic shiny material may be the rage, but as Maurice says, “That’s not us. We manufacture only in real wood. We don’t do veneers.”
Attention to detail and commitment to quality earned Maurice’s Furnishings a loyal following, including high-end clients across the country and even internation-

ally. The company has completed projects in destinations like Aspen, Colo., Montauk, N.Y., and even St. Barts, where Maurice personally oversaw the installation of a rotating TV cabinet made from their signature antique doors.
The Jonkers work closely with clients, guiding them through the design process while offering them a unique look that can’t be found elsewhere. For instance, there were live edge slabs cut from the middle of a tree – some wide, some skinny, all with a natural curve.
“They’re great for a bar top,” Wendy adds.
A posted Google review captures that a visit to the showroom is an experience: “From the minute you step foot in their store, you feel right at home and want to buy everything! Maurice and Wendy are always around to assist with ideas, design support.”
Any visit to Maurice Furnishings
would be remiss without seeing the custom-made closet that the company designed for a long-time client. When she passed on, the closet made its way back to the showroom.
The closet was 14 feet long by 12 feet wide and included features like an island, hamper, numerous drawers and a rotating shoe rack. It is the closet all other closets envy.
The client, who also lived in New York, would have an assistant bring down the contents of her whole
closet to Palm Beach Gardens each season.
Spend some time with the Jonkers and it’s hard to deny they love what they do. Back to those Egyptian doors, there is a video that shows how they were repurposed in different homes – as well as real pieces, like the headboards, made from them right in the showroom.
“It’s really a fun, fun process. Right now the doors are just really hot for us, right?” Wendy says.

While many of us travel to escape our usual environment and routine, we still appreciate small touches of home. A well-planned trip can offer moments of comfort and familiarity, making the journey even more enjoyable. As a travel advisor, I take the time to understand my clients’ preferences, using that knowledge to match them with the perfect trip.
1. Home Is Where You Are
Travel advisors have access to extensive knowledge about millions of hotels worldwide—far beyond the carefully curated photos on booking sites. Not only can I verify what you see online, but I can also communicate directly with the hotel to accommodate any special requests that would enhance your stay. Traveling with children? I’ll ensure their needs are met with age-appropriate activities. Have dietary restrictions? You’ll know in advance what options are available, ensuring a stressfree dining experience.
2. Traveling Stress-Free
When you book with a travel advisor, the smallest details are taken care of. Before you travel, you’ll know exactly how you’re getting to the airport, have a safe and reliable transfer to your hotel, and may even enjoy VIP perks along the way. If anything unexpected arises, I’ll be there to advocate for you, making any last-minute arrangements needed to keep your trip smooth and
stress-free.
3. Finding Hospitality and Belonging
Visiting a destination for the first time can be exciting, but it also comes with uncertainty. While photos online may look stunning, the reality can sometimes fall short—especially if hotel staff are unhelpful or unfriendly. A travel advisor eliminates that worry by recommending hotels known for their excellent service, either through firsthand experience or our extensive industry network. With my guidance, you’ll be welcomed with genuine hospitality, ensuring a truly enjoyable stay.
Travel should be about creating wonderful memories, not dealing with stress or uncertainty. By working with a travel advisor, you can enjoy the comfort of home wherever you go, knowing every detail has been thoughtfully planned. Let me handle the logistics so you can focus on what matters most—making unforgettable moments.

Since its founding in 2008, Bella’s Angel’s has been a vital source of financial assistance for families of children with lifelong physical disabilities—covering expenses that go beyond what insurance provides.
“Our goal is to support families who fall through the cracks, those who don’t have the financial means to give their child the care they need,” says Deborah Jaffe, Executive Director of Bella’s Angels. “We want to help these children become the best version of themselves while allowing their families to maintain as normal a life as possible.”
The families Bella’s Angels serves in Palm Beach County often find themselves in challenging financial situations. Many were saving for a home or had recently moved when they learned their child was born with a disability—draining their savings almost instantly. In most cases, one parent must leave their job to become a full-time caregiver, placing an immense strain on the household budget. Bella’s Angels steps in to ease this burden, ensuring that these children receive the essential treatments and resources they need.
One of the most impactful ways Bella’s Angels supports families is by funding home renovations that make daily life more accessible.
For one family, a small bathroom posed significant challenges for their child who uses a wheelchair. The parents, struggling to lift their 100-pound child over barriers, were experiencing physical strain. Bella’s Angels hired a contractor to modify the space, adjusting the sink’s width to allow better wheelchair access and creating a slight ramp for easier shower entry—transforming the bathroom into a safe, accessible space.
Another family, with a 13-year-old who is wheelchair-dependent and

Thanks to Bella’s Angels, a contractor installed a lift that allows him to move from his bed to other parts of his room and even into the bathroom—giving him newfound autonomy and reducing his parents’ caregiving demands.
In the coming year, Bella’s Angels will provide up to $15,000 in
assistance to 48 families, covering essential expenses such as: Home modifications, doctor and prescription co-pays, therapy sessions, medical-related travel costs and supplies vital to their child’s care

In the world of luxury real estate, the kitchen is no longer just a place to prepare meals—it has become the heart of the home, a statement of style, and a showcase of cutting-edge technology. High-end kitchens in today’s luxury properties reflect a blend of sophisticated aesthetics, smart features, and seamless functionality. Here are the top trends shaping luxury kitchens in 2025.
1. Smart Kitchens
Technology continues to revolutionize the modern kitchen. From AI-powered appliances that suggest recipes based on available ingredients to voice-activated faucets and smart refrigerators with touchscreens, automation is elevating both convenience and efficiency. Integrated smart systems allow homeowners to control lighting, temperature, and security with a simple voice command or smartphone app.
2. Minimalist Elegance
Luxury kitchens are embracing a sleek and uncluttered look. Handleless cabinetry, hidden appliances, and streamlined designs create a seamless aesthetic. High-end materials such as matte black or high-gloss lacquered finishes, exotic stone countertops, and custom woodwork enhance the appeal of these spaces.
3. Statement Islands
Islands have become the focal point of luxury kitchens, serving as both a functional workspace and a stylish gathering spot. Expansive islands with waterfall edges, bold natural stone patterns, and built-in wine storage or
bar areas make a dramatic impact while enhancing usability.
4. Sustainable Luxury
Eco-conscious design is a rising priority among affluent homeowners. Luxury kitchens are incorporating sustainable materials like reclaimed wood, recycled metal, and low-impact quartz. High-end energy-efficient appliances, water-saving fixtures, and LED lighting also contribute to a more environmentally friendly yet opulent experience.
5. Seamless Indoor-Outdoor Flow
Blurring the lines between indoor and outdoor living is a key trend in luxury homes. Expansive glass doors, covered outdoor kitchens, and alfresco dining areas allow homeowners to entertain in style while enjoying natural surroundings. These features enhance both the aesthetic appeal and functional versatility of a kitchen.
6. Bespoke Features & Customization
Luxury homeowners seek kitchens that reflect their unique lifestyles. Custom cabinetry, tailor-made storage solutions, and high-end chef’s appliances ensure that every kitchen is as functional as it is beautiful. Personalized touches such as built-in espresso stations, climate-controlled wine cabinets, and dedicated prep kitchens add to the exclusivity of these spaces.
From intelligent design to opulent materials, luxury kitchens continue to evolve, blending aesthetics with functionality. Whether creating a chef’s dream space or a refined social hub, these trends are shaping the future of kitchen design in luxury real estate.

Running a small business from home? You wear a lot of hats—sales, marketing, customer service, and, like it or not, bookkeeping.
And the March tax deadline for businesses is almost here.
Just how much time are business owners spending on tax prep? A Small Business Administration study found:
● 40% spend 80+ hours a year
● 18% spend 41-80 hours a year
● 15% spend 21-40 hours a year
● 28% spend less than 21 hours a year
Those are weeks of your life—just on tax prep. And what do small business owners say about it?
● 47% hate the cost
● 13% hate the admin headaches
● 13% hate the complexity of compliance
● 10% hate the constant regulation changes
● 8% hate the paperwork
● 8% hate how unfair the tax code feels
In short? Most business owners would rather do just about anything else.
Some folks have a knack for organizing information
and keeping records in shape so accountants and auditors can do their jobs. But accounting software isn’t a substitute for expertise—it won’t flag missed tax deductions or ensure your books are always up to date.
You need a good bookkeeper. A good one won’t just track your numbers; they’ll set up processes to keep your records straight and help you make sense of your finances.
You’ll always understand your money better than anyone—but that doesn’t mean you understand it well.
You might not know every detail with a pro, but you’ll know enough to make smarter decisions.
If bookkeeping is the last thing on your mind, it’s time to find someone who can make it their top priority.

The short game is crucial to lowering your golf score, and understanding the difference between chipping and pitching is key. These two shots serve different purposes and require unique techniques. Here’s a breakdown to help you master both, featuring insights from The Golfing Machine by Homer Kelley.
Chipping: The Low and Controlled Shot Using Horizontal Hinging
Purpose: Chipping is used for short-distance shots where the ball stays low and rolls toward the hole. Ideal for situations near the green with minimal obstacles.
Key Characteristics:
● Low trajectory, high roll.
● Focuses on precision and control.
Technique:
Setup: Normal Square stance, weight slightly forward, ball positioned toward the center.
Swing: Minimal wrist hinge, medium backswing, and follow-through.
Key Concept: Use the “hands ahead” principle to control loft and ensure solid contact, as illustrated in The Golfing Machine. The club’s leading edge should strike the ball cleanly
Let the toe close through impact
Illustration: A golfer using a 9-iron with hands positioned even with the ball at impact, demonstrating the “lever assembly” described in The Golfing Machine.
Pitching: The High and Soft Shot
Purpose: Pitching is used for medium-distance shots
requiring a higher trajectory to clear obstacles like bunkers or rough. The ball lands softly with less roll.
Key Characteristics:
● High trajectory, minimal roll.
● Focuses on loft and finesse.
Technique:
Setup: Same stance as a chip, weight balanced, ball positioned slightly forward.
Swing: Moderate wrist hinge, longer backswing, and follow-through.
Key Concept: Use “swinging principles” to maintain a smooth arc and consistent loft, as outlined in The Golfing Machine. The emphasis is on a relaxed yet controlled motion.
Hold the face open through impact
Illustration: A golfer using a sand wedge, with the clubface open and a full wrist hinge, demonstrating a high-arcing pitch shot.
Distance Short Medium
Trajectory Low High
Roll High Minimal
Wrist Hinge Minimal Moderate
Club choice 7 or 9-iron Sand or lob wedge
