MANAGER’S MESSAGE

Dear Residents,

Fall is here, and Palm Terrace is buzzing with activity! We have some exciting updates and important reminders to share with you this month.

Halloween Costume Party – You’re Invited!

Get ready for a spook-tacular celebration!

Date: Friday, October 31st

Time: 11:00 AM

Location: Palm Terrace Clubhouse

We’ll have food, music, and of course, costumes! Bring your grandkids along – the more the merrier! This will be a potluck-style party, so if you’d like, bring a dish to share. Let’s make this Halloween one to remember for our Palm Terrace family!

 Curb Appeal Reminder

Palm Terrace is a beautiful community, and we’re proud to show it off to visitors and future residents. We kindly ask everyone to continue doing their part by keeping yards neat and tidy, maintaining landscaping, and making small improvements where needed. A well-kept home doesn’t just boost pride in ownership – it enhances the entire neighborhood for all of us.

 Shuffleboard Is Ready!

We’re excited to announce that our shuffleboard court accessories are now available! If you’d like to play, simply stop by the office to request the equipment. It’s a great way to spend time outdoors, stay active, and enjoy friendly competition with your neighbors.

Thank you for making Palm Terrace such a special place to live. Your participation, care, and pride in our community help us create the warm and welcoming environment that everyone loves. Let’s make this October festive, fun, and full of community spirit!

 Reminder – Mailbox Keys

We still have several residents who have not picked up their new mailbox keys. Please stop by the office at your earliest convenience to collect yours. Having your updated keys ensures smooth mail delivery and avoids any unnecessary delays.

Broccoli Cheddar Soup

INSTRUCTIONS

INGREDIENTS

• 4 tablespoons unsalted butter

• 1 medium yellow onion, chopped

• ½ teaspoon sea salt

• Freshly ground black pepper

• 3 garlic cloves, chopped

• ¼ cup all-purpose flour

• 2 cups whole milk or unsweetened almond milk

• 2 cups vegetable broth

• 3 cups chopped broccoli florets

• 1 large carrot, julienned or finely chopped

• ½ teaspoon Dijon mustard

• 8 ounces shredded cheddar cheese, about 2 heaping cups

• Homemade croutons, for serving, optional

1. Melt the butter in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the onion, salt, and several grinds of pepper and cook, stirring, for 5 minutes, or until softened. Stir in the garlic and cook for another minute, then sprinkle in the flour and whisk continuously for 1 to 2 minutes, or until the flour turns golden. Slowly pour in the milk, whisking continuously.

2. Add the broth, broccoli, carrot, and mustard and stir to combine. Simmer for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the broccoli is tender.

3. Gradually add the cheese, stirring after each addition, until all the cheese is melted and the soup is creamy. Season to taste and serve with croutons, if desired.
