Food Pantry Dedica on The Lockwood Ministerial Alliance will host a dedication of the new Food Pantry built in Lockwood on Sunday, September 28th at 2:30 p.m. The project was a two year process of receiving grants, raising funds by the local area churches, and construction. Pam Allen assisted in writing a $5,000 grant sponsored by Thrivent Financial which was then matched by Thrivent equaling $10,000.00; Monsanto gave a gift of $2,500.00; and area churches raised thousands of dollars to complete the project. Brian Wehrman drew up the plans for the Food Pantry and constructed it. Thanks to all who made the new Food Pantry a reality for Lockwood and surrounding communities. Sunday, September 28 at 2:30 p.m. the community is invited to attend the dedication of the new Food Pantry located on Immanuel Lutheran Church’s parking lot facing Hwy 160. Those in attendance will be area pastors of the Lockwood Ministerial Alliance, Thom Mehl of Thrivent, Pam Allen, Brian Wehrman, and Rev. Kyle Fittje of Immanuel Lutheran Church who will lead the Rite of Dedication. Those attending are encouraged to bring several food items to help stock the new Food Pantry (no corn or green beans, as there is an ample supply of these items at this time).

Thieves Damage Trading Post, Other Businesses In Attempted Break-ins By Cle s McConnell Vede e Reporter

Police responded to the Trading Post in Greenfield at 4:20 a.m. Monday morning as an alarm went off, alerting them of an attempted break-in. The would-be burglars were not able to enter the front door so they backed their 18wheeler tractor into the front door, taking out a large section, as well as the door and then quickly left to the east in their tractor trailer when the alarm went off. Only minutes earlier, they had attempted a break-in at the Hurricane Bay Car Wash in Greenfield without success. They backed into the money machine, damaging it and a big flower bed. Nothing was taken. After leaving Greenfield, they stopped in Ash Grove at the Larry Cox Car Wash. Some damage was reported. Again,

nothing was taken. The break-ins are under investigation. Call your local police or sheriff if you noticed anything suspicious early Monday. Your name will be kept confidential.
