Right To Farm Amendment Stays Winning After Recount By Bob Jackson

The Missouri Secretary of State announced Monday, September 15, 2014, that after a statewide recount of ballots in the 114 counties and The City of St Louis Amendment 1 The Right To Farm change in the Missouri Constitu-

tion passed by 2375 votes. The vote count in favor on August 5, 2014, had the measure winning by 2490 votes. Election officials statewide did the recount and in Dade County the final total was 1252 yes and 689 no.

Results on 8-05-14 showed 1251 yes and 688 no. Some 64% of Dade County voters approved the measure. Supporters of Admendment 1 stated Missouri Family Farmers and Missouri Consumers are the winners of the recount,

validating the passage of the measure. Missouri farmers will have greater protection from unjustified and costly restrictions placed upon them by out-of-state extreme organizations like the Humane Society of The United States.

The next voting election will be Tuesday, November 4, 2014. There will not be on the ballot a proposal to abolish township goverment in Dade County. The earliest that vote could occur would be the April election of 2015.
