Fiscal Year 2020 has been an eventful year to say the least. These words permeate and resound with an echo as we navigate and confront the many uncertainties in our world today.
Fiscal Year 2020 was historic for Triad Adult & Pediatric Medicine, Inc. (TAPM) with many victories. TAPM successfully achieved goals never imagined in the areas of service expansion and financial sustainability. The purchase of TAPM’s first medical building was monument; the team anxiously awaits the near future renovations and the grand opening in the year 2021. The Board of Directors and Leadership Team of TAPM are commended as they fulfilled the outlined strategic goals for the fiscal year.
Fiscal Year 2020 also greeted us with the unexpected novel coronavirus (COVID-19). This virus shifted the best-laid plans, and thrusted the world and TAPM to persevere. COVID-19 has changed how we do business and serve our clients. Healthcare providers across the world accepted the challenge of addressing COVID-19 and providing quality healthcare; thus the surge for telehealth patient visits was born. TAPM met this challenge with the implementation of a new telehealth platform, which allowed the flexibility to continue to provide healthcare and behavioral health services with the same level of compassion and respect TAPM patients were accustomed to receiving. The shift from face-to-face office visits to over 50% of our patient visits now being virtual via telephone and/or video, demonstrates TAPM’s flexibility and commitment to patient care.
Fiscal Year 2020 introduced the remote work from home model. This model became the new normal for a large portion of TAPM administrative staff, which promoted social distancing while mitigating the risk of spreading COVID-19.
Fiscal Year 2020 was a successful year for community collaboration and partnerships. TAPM collaborated with many community partners to provide COVID-19 testing to vulnerable populations in Guilford County and the surrounding areas. TAPM pivoted as the news of COVID-19 continued to evolve, thus changing the way we serve our community.
This new way of thinking and working will catapult us into the new fiscal year. Our vision is clear and with the support of our Board of Directors, Community Partners and TAPM Staff, we will continue the fight against COVID-19 and reconciliation in our community.
Sincerely,
Michelle A. Lewis

The fight of a global pandemic, adjusting to the changes in the social climate, and accommodating the changing needs of our patients, employees and community partners are just a few of the 2020 headlines that changed our clinic.
Providing quality comprehensive integrated care is at the forefront of our daily activities. Our diverse provider team spans various disciplines, backgrounds and more. It's their commitment to patient care that keeps our community healthy one patient at a time.

Dr. Faith Lockett Gardner has had a niche for doing procedures since first being trained as a Pediatric physician. When she saw the need for circumcisions to be performed at Triad Adult & Pediatric Medicine, Inc. (TAPM), she turned that idea into a reality. Dr. Lockett Gardner says that, “New parents already have a lot to worry about without having the extra burden of paying out of pocket for the circumcision. This is why I wanted to offer this local and affordable service." Dr. Lockett Gardner says, "that, as a Federally Qualified Health Center, Triad Adult and Pediatric Medicine provides medical care with dignity, and it is our responsibility to make sure patients have access to as many resources possible.” Procedure offered at our Pediatrics at Wendover office for newborn boys up to 2 weeks

The Behavioral Health Team is an integral part of the TAPM integrated healthcare model. The team is comprised of Behavioral Health Clinicians (Licensed Clinical Social Workers), Behavioral Health Care Managers, Community Health Workers and Healthy Steps Specialists. Behavioral Health offers assistance when emotional, behavioral or physical problems are interfering with one's daily life. TAPM focuses on addressing the social drivers of health as apart of our commitment to meeting the needs of the (whole) person - body and mind.
The AIMS (Access Increases In Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services) clinic was designed at our Family Medicine at Commerce location, in compliance with AIMS HRSA (Health Resources & Services Administration) grant guidelines, to provide increased integrated behavioral health and primary care services to patients identified as highest risk for negative health outcomes related to chronic pain, past or current substance use, trauma and chronic disease. Currently, AIMS is managing patients who are seen every other week. AIMS is operating at full capacity within the allotted clinic time. New patients are welcomed as we expand.
The TAPM FIT Program is designed to empower community members upon their return from incarceration to become self-sufficient and to reach their health and wellness goals. Servicing Guilford County, we connect people with needed health services and assist them with all aspects of re-entry: including housing, job training, legal needs, education, transportation, and life skills.
