CHECK OUT OUR JUNE HIGHLIGHTED PROVIDER VIDEO!
Meet Irene Yaya, FNP, a compassionate provider at TAPM’s Family Medicine at Arlington location.
Born and raised in a small village in Kenya, Irene’s passion for healing began with her father, who cared for neighbors using traditional remedies. Today, she brings that same heart to every patient she sees building trust, offering support, and creating care plans that truly meet people where they are.
Millions of Americans are living with viral hepatitis. Many don’t know it.
Between emails, texts, group chats, social media, and the steady buzz of breaking news, it’s easy to feel like we’re always “on.” While technology connects us, it can also leave us feeling overwhelmed, distracted, or emotionally drained. The pressure to constantly respond, scroll, or stay informed can take a toll on our mental health, especially when we don’t take intentional breaks.
This summer, take a moment to reflect on your digital habits. Are you reaching for your phone out of boredom or stress? Do you find it difficult to disconnect at the end of the day? These are common experiences, and you're not alone.
Here are a few ways to create more balance:
Set screen-time limits or “tech-free” window your day
Turn off non-urgent notifications to reduce m clutter
Swap late-night scrolling with a calming ritual reading or journaling
Use wellness apps to support your mental hea without overloading yourself
Reconnect with nature or hobbies that help y grounded
Remember, digital tools should work for you — n other way around. Protecting your mental space essential part of wellness, and small changes can big difference. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, TA behavioral health team is here to help, and staff a encouraged to reach out for support.
Summer often brings a welcome change of pace vacations, family gatherings, outdoor events, but it can also disrupt our usual routines. With full schedules and longer days, it’s easy for wellness habits like balanced meals, sleep, or self-care to take a backseat. The key isn’t perfection, but finding simple, sustainable ways to stay grounded and take care of yourself amid the busyness.
Consider creating small wellness touchpoints throughout your day. Pack a water bottle and healthy snacks to keep your energy up during back-to-back activities. Try light movement in the morning or wind down with stretching before bed. Even just stepping outside for a few deep breaths between tasks can help reset your mood and focus.
Don’t forget mental wellness while summer brings fun, it can also bring stress from packed calendars and increased caregiving demands. Give yourself permission to say no when needed, set boundaries around work/life balance, and check in with yourself regularly. A five-minute mental break can go a long way.
Whatever summer looks like for you, we encourage you to find moments of balance, rest, and joy. Your health matters year-round, and small acts of care can help keep you energized and resilient through the season.

Integrity is more than just honesty, it’s about aligning our words with our actions, being accountable to one another, and upholding the ethical standards that shape how we care, serve, and lead.
At TAPM, integrity means showing up every day with a commitment to do what’s right, not what’s easy. It’s reflected in the trust we build with our patients, the transparency we maintain with our colleagues, and the courage we demonstrate when facing difficult decisions. Whether we’re honoring patient confidentiality, supporting a coworker, or following through on a promise, we do so with character and consistency.
Integrity is foundational to our culture. It fuels respect, strengthens collaboration, and allows us to serve our community with dignity and purpose. When we act with integrity, we earn the confidence of those we care for and create a workplace where people feel safe, valued, and proud to contribute.
Throughout this quarter, let’s challenge ourselves to embody integrity in all that we do. Speak up when it matters, take ownership of your responsibilities, and lead by example. Together, we’ll continue to build a culture that not only meets expectations, but exceeds them.
