For decades, community health centers like Triad Adult and Pediatric Medicine, Inc (TAPM) have fostered and embraced the Health Center movement and Health Equity has been the cornerstone Triad Adult and Pediatric Medicine has remained a stable force in Guilford County throughout turbulent and uncertain times, as the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic continued to shed light on the healthcare inequities in our society
Health Centers like TAPM have faced unrivaled challenges in staffing, meeting local, state, federal and Medicaid Managed Care changes; all while aiming to provide exceptional primary and behavioral healthcare services As we continue our quest to hire mission-driven individuals with a passion for Health Equity, we remain faithful to the call If we are going to conquer Health Equity inadequacies, we must have the right people in the right places Therefore, strengthening our staff development and hiring models will align us to meet the future challenges of the workforce with resilience
It was the forward-thinking of the TAPM leadership team and Board of Directors that led the organization through yet, another challenging but rewarding year As the TAPM team kept Health Equity as the focal point, we were able to navigate and evolve the ever-changing healthcare landscape From providing primary care, behavioral health, telemedicine, psychiatry, and a host of other services, TAPM has remained true to its mission. We have leveraged resources to provide innovative programs and services, incorporating continuous quality improvement while experiencing sustainable success and growth. Our multidisciplinary team approach and staff commitment despite the staffing challenges have remained priceless.
Expanding access to equitable healthcare with new offices in High Point and Greensboro was timely, and the need for increased access to assess, treat, and manage chronic disease and behavioral health conditions remain at the top of the list. TAPM has strategically expanded access and infrastructure while transforming our practice model. But there is more work to be done.
Health Equity requires empathy and relationship building to better understand the needs of those we serve We must close the divide between the haves and the have-nots and work together for a healthier and equitable society There is a bridge to cross the great divide and it is the power of interconnectedness
Strong community partnerships have proven to be key in collectively addressing the many social determinants of health The only way we can transform healthcare is by bringing communities and resources together that help individuals reach their fullest potential as a citizen of this great county
TAPM has reached new horizons and embarked on new territory all with the goal of expanding access to affordable healthcare We are honored that for almost 25 years, TAPM has been a part of the Health Equity movement, and we are positioning our organization to be one of the staples of Future Health Equity in our community
Thank you to our staff, Board of Directors, community partners, funders, and donors You all play a vital role in the Health Equity of Guilford County

It has been another year here at Triad Adult and Pediatric Medicine (TAPM), and certainly one We have been stretched and pushed in ways we would not have imagined, and per usual, TAPM has come out on top! We are very excited about the new and planned services we will offer to our patients Our Behavioral Health department has expanded to include direct psychiatric services – a major win for our patients who might otherwise have to wait months for an external psychiatrist to become available With our recent site expansion, we will be able to offer a dedicated location for Office-based Opioid Therapy (OBOT) as well as other planned specialty services.
More recently, TAPM has entered into a partnership with Greensboro Area Health Education Center and Cone Health to provide “School-based Telehealth” to Union Hill Elementary school in High Point, NC. Our Greensboro and High Point pediatric providers will connect with the school’s medical telepresenter and the student, as well as their parents for a virtual office visit. Using cutting-edge technology, providers can look in the ears, listen to the heart and lungs, evaluate skin conditions, and much more, all while remaining at their primary clinical site. We are so excited to be one of the first FQHCs in North Carolina to implement this novel service With school-based telehealth, we significantly reduce student absenteeism, while allowing parents to remain at work or at home with siblings With this service, health equity and education equity join forces
It has become apparent that COVID-19 is here to stay The good news is that TAPM is more than equal to the task, and continues to adapt to this almost-endemic disease as appropriate It has been so inspiring to see our team members roll up their sleeves, and go head-to-head against this virus We have increased our vaccination efforts, offered outpatient treatment with Paxlovid, attended trainings, and much more in order to provide the utmost protection to our patients, our team members, and the community at large
As we now face the emerging Monkeypox, we have quickly compiled the lessons and techniques learned from the COVID-19 pandemic and have applied them to this new global spread. Already we are revising and adapting our Infection Control policies to ensure safety and mitigate transmission. Our clinical team keeps a close watch on updates from our county and state health departments as well as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
TAPM is on the move. Being Focused on Excellence and Devoted to Care remains our mission and marching order We consider it our deepest honor and blessing to continue serving our community
