nchored from Talipan National High School’s (TNHS) thrusts, the 2020 In-Service Training for Teachers was held last December 14 to 18 to intensify teachers’ interest and skills in research writing with the theme “Continuing the Research Culture of Excellence”. According to Dr. Luningning R. Mendoza,school principal the annual training was designed to help teachers pursue professional development by focusing on knowing how to write studies like action researches. “We are eyeing that by 2021, every teacher in Talipan National High School is a researcher”, said Mendoza during her remarks given virtually. Teachers from different learning areas and departments gathered in their respective assigned classrooms and attended the said training virtually, submitted outputs virtually and followed the set IATF protocols and health and safety measures. rules and checking of attendance. It was followed by Session 1 with Dr. Juanito A. Merle, EPS in English who talked about Identifying Research Problem and Framing Research Question. On the second day, Dr. Reicon C. Condes, Master Teacher from the SHS Department shared important points on Language of Literature (Related Studies). Activities and assignments were given to participants that were also asked to submit prior to the research proposal presentation that was held December 17, Thursday. Meanwhile, teachers continued to work collaboratively on the third day of INSET and also started writing and submitting their Weekly Home Learning Plans (WHLP) for the second quarter of the current school year. On the fourth day of the INSET, selected teachers presented their studies and research proposals with one representative from each departments or learning areas. Guest panellist, Ma’am Azaleah A. Gallano, Senior Education Program Specialist from Lucena City helped the teachers on improving their studies and proposals. On the final day of the INSET, school admin hosted the 2020 Gawad Maningning which aims to recognize teachers’ commendable service to provide inspiration and hope. The said event was comprised of recognition of teachers and non-teaching personnel with 20 and above years of public service, teachers with the cleanest and greenest classrooms, committees, and the outstanding teachers from different grade levels where SHS teacher Mr. Sherwin Diala was hailed as the most outstanding teachers.
