n support to the BIDA Kid Campaign of the Department of Education, Talipan National High School (TNHS) kicks-off its localized program called BIDA Talipeño to further promote health and safety protocols as the school welcomes the reopening of classes on the same week. According to Dr. Luningning R. Mendoza, School Head, the campaign aims to strengthen the school’s campaign activities about health and safety protocols in the expansion phase of limited face-to-face classes. “Base sa memorandums na ating natanggap mula sa DepEd and Division Office, we want to support the campaign to highlight the importance safe reopening of classes. We want our students and the whole community to be knowledgeable about what to follow pagdating sa mga protocols natin dito sa ating paaralan,” said Mendoza.

The campaign was also launched to highlight the importance of 3Bs or Bakuna, Bayanihan and BIDA. BIDA stands for Bestfriend natin ang Mask, Ingatan at Hugasan ang Kamay, Dumistansya sa Kaklase, and Airflow ay Panatilihin). In line with this, TNHS administration through the help of the GPTA, stakeholders and teacher-coordinators will hold a weeklong celebration where different activities that seek to promote the campaign will take place. From Page 1 On the first day of the event, selected classes from Junior to Senior High School levels conducted a simulation of face-to-face classes where the actual students who will regularly attend the in-person classes participated. The second day on the other hand welcomed the students as TNHS formally reopen the school for the Day 1 of face-to-face classes. I was a successful first day and smiles from teachers and students were seen all day. Filipino Department and School Information Office (SIO) tied up to conduct the BIDA Talipeno Slogan and Poster Making Contest where selected students participated and shared their talents and skills in writing and arts to foster the theme “BIDA Talipeño, Ligtas na Balik-Eskwela Panalo!”. The said contest was held virtually and outputs were posted online to bring awareness to the online community. Winners of the competition and participants received certificates of participation and prizes from sponsors and organizers. “Nagpapasalamat ako sa lahat ng mga mag-aaral na ngayong nakikilahok sa ating patimpalak, sa lahat guro, kina Sir Jerwin for his efforts, Filipino Department headed by Ma’am Roselyn Acesor, to all the Head Teachers, sa ating GPTA officers headed by Mr. Archival Argañosa and Treasurer Mrs. Riza Argañosa paras lahat ng sakripisyo at tulong na inilaan para sa paaralan para muling maibalik ang face-to-face classes sa Talipan NHS,” said Mendoza in her message during the Virtual Orientation on May 19. Meanwhile, the school facilities were even made more colourful by placing localized DepEd BIDA Kid Posters and Tarpaulins. Each classroom advisers also received IEC or Information, Education and Communication materials where students can learn more about the health and safety protocols. “Malaking tulong ito sa ating lahat lalo na sa mga bata. Minsan sa dami n g ating ginagagawa nakakalimutan na natin magsuot ng mask o sundin yung mga health protocols but with these IEC materials, we will always be reminded kung ano ang dapat sundin at gawin para lahat tayo ay ligtas,” said Nerissa Nanadiego, Grade 7 Adviser. Moreover, to announce the campaign in the community for bigger impact, SIO lead the BIDA Kid DP (Display Picture) Blast on Facebook thru the DepEd Tayo Talipan NHS Quezon Province Page. They also made noises on social media by posting the BIDA Kid activities and sharing of BIDA Kid Materials on the Page like the BIDA Kid Official Jingle. “I feel proud po syempre na parte ako ng campaign na ito with this DP frame. Ofcourse hindi sa frame natatapos ang part ko kundi sa pagpasok ko po sa school, dapat nandun yung pina-practice po talaga yung ibig sabihin ng BIDA”, said Mark Vincent Macasinag, a G11 HUMSS Student. TNHS still eyes for more activities to further promote BIDA Kid campaign and sustain the effort that the school, the GPTA and other stakeholders have started.
