o deliver the looked-for means of verifications (MOVs) for the RPMS KRA 3 Objectives 11 and 12, English Department of Talipan National High School (TNHS) conducted its second SLAC-PMT Session that focused on crafting and implementing various programs for education last Wednesday, March 9. According to Dr. Reicon C. Condes, Master Teacher II and SLAC Chair, the session enlightened the teachers about the simplest and most convenient ways on how to observe the required MOVs for Objectives 11 and 12 which mainly include the programs or projects initiated by the teacher. “When we think of a project, it should be focused on the curriculum or the language [that] we are teaching our students. It should address their needs or topics that they still need to master… with your project’s set of documents, we can provide the necessary

MOVs for our target rating [in Objectives 11 & 12 of the RPMS],” said Dr. Condes. The master teacher also stressed that teacher should design projects not only to furnish as requirements but able to sustain it just like other projects initiated by the department or by the school. The SLAC Chort started the first part of the session with the discussion of Objective 12 which focuses on utilization of assessment data to inform the modification of teaching and learning practices and programs.

He explained three important concepts namely: Assessment Data, List of Least or Most Mastered Skills, and Modified Teaching Learning Practices of Programs and suggested the Response to Intervention (RTI) Approach upon crafting them. “It (RTI) has three levels to consider - the Primary, Secondary and Tertiary… RTI becomes more effective with PBIS or the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports,” he explained. It was followed by the showcasing of sample MOVs for the discussed objectives with Mr. Michael O. Perez who shared about his on-going project called REMOVE-SARDO or Revitalizing Motivation on Virtual Education-Student-At-Risk of Dropping Out. Though Perez wasn’t able to demonstrate the exact samples to help teachers prepare their MOVs for the desired ‘Outstanding’ rating, teachers still lauded Perez for the results of his project which generally concerns the psychosocial aspect and related behaviours of students towards learning. Dr. Condes and Gina A. Grezula, Head Teacher I, SLAC Co-Chair on the other hand cut in to clarify the steps and other preparations of MOVs intended for Objective 12 and asked Perez to revise the MOVs presented and just focus on addressing the least mastered competencies from the presenter’s own subject. After Dr. Condes presented examples of MOVs for the 12th Objective, Reading Program Coordinator Ma. Cassandra S. Antoni showcased her prepared MOVs for Objective 11 which highlights the adapted and implemented learning programs that ensure relevance and responsiveness to the needs of all learners. To give details on how to provide the right MOVs for the said objective for Proficient Teachers, Antoni used her Project ST2AR or Stakeholders, Trainers and Teachers Assisting Developmental Readers but was only able to hit the two lowest ratings with the project design, activity matrix and other technical report she exhibited. Hence, Dr. Condes made clear that Antoni’s project hasn’t been evaluated yet which is the primary requisite to obtain an ‘Outstanding’ mark in Objective 11. “Proof of evaluation on the implementation of the adapted or contextualized learning program ang kailangan natin para maging Outstanding…that’s why we need to craft and prepare our projects well,” Dr. Condes said. The Master Teacher then continued with the discussion of several concepts to wrap up Objective 11 which takes in the Learning Program, Evaluation Tool and the Accomplishment Report. Host of the session, Mr. Jomar Pornobi then led the group in an Open Forum where teachers were given chances to ask questions related to the topics discussed. The session ended with giving of announcement and awarding of certificates to the speakers and to the technical-working group.
