o apprise all education stakeholders with relevant information about the school’s triumphs and future endeavours, Talipan National High School (TNHS) conducted the 2022 Education Summit last March 7 (Monday) at TNHS Covered Court, Pagbilao, Quezon. Led by the school’s principal Dr. Luningning R. Mendoza and with all Department Heads, the half-day programme was participated by PTA Class Presidents, teachers, guests and other stakeholders who learned significant things about the school’s accomplishments and its future plans in preparation for the implementation of limited face-to-face classes. “The primary objective of this gathering is to really inform the parents and our stakeholders about all the things that we’ve accomplished in the past two years. This is to inspire them that despite the pandemic and the current situation we’re still able to succeed in our goal – that education in Talipan was still able to continue and shine brightly,” Mendoza said. “Also this summit aims to update them (education stakeholders) about

our plans and preparations for the implementation of limited face-to-face classes. We believe that transparency thru informing them is the key to unify the TNHS community and with unity we are able to meet our targets,” she added.

The programme started with the singing of the National Anthem and hymns and was followed by an Opening Remarks from Mr. Sherwin E. De Rama, Head Teacher III – TLE Department who also welcomed the participants in the event. GPTA President Mr. Archival P. Arganosa and a representative of Hon. Editha A. Alano, Barangay Chairwoman of Talipan also shared some messages about the importance of unity and hand-in-hand work to put plans into reality especially when these plans cater the needs of the children or the learners. It was followed by an Intermission Number by Mr. Juan Carlo U. Villanueva, MAPEH Teacher and Dr. Rosamarie B. Nolasco’s report about the Guidance Office’s accomplishments. Dr. Nolasco highlighted numerous undertakings like some success rates and the positive results of the conduct of Virtual Career Guidance Program for learners. More accomplishments were shared to the attendees as each Head Teachers from all subject areas, including the Senior High School (SHS) Department also presented their Accomplishment Reports via entertaining AVPs and slides. Mrs. Roselyn S. Acesor, Head Teacher I led the Filipino Dept. in presenting their accomplishments; Mrs. Gina A. Grezula, Head Teacher I for the English Dept.; Mrs. Edna G. Adel, Head Teacher III for the Mathematics and ESP Department; and Mrs. Rowena P. Albaran, Head Teacher III for Science Department. To complete the list of presenters, Mr. Rodante C. De Castro, Head Teacher III also shared their accomplishments of Araling Panlipunan Dept.; Mr. Sherwin E. De Rama, Head Teacher III for the TLE Dept.; Mrs. Maria Teresa C. Tagon, Head Teacher III for the MAPEH Dept. and Mrs. Lorna C. Arenal, Master Teacher II for the SHS Department. For the highlight of the summit, TNHS Principal Dr. Luningning R. Mendoza started her State of the School Address (SOSA) by giving the highlights and the significance of all the accomplishments specified by each department. She also lauded the Department Heads for their leadership that brought realities and feats to every projects and innovations initiated by the teachers. “These accomplishments say it all. TNHS, undoubtedly fulfilled DepEd Secretary Leonor Briones’ words that education must continue despite the hindrances posed by the Covid-19 Pandemic”, she said. She also stressed out one of the big needs of the school as of the present in line with the conduct of limited in-person classes – the lack of water supply. According to Mendoza, the school has already installed faucets and new hand washing areas and has provided necessary materials and supplies yet the lack of continuous water supply remains the biggest need of the school. In line with this, Mendoza eyes more funding for the complete installation of water supply which she sees and understands as the primary necessity of the school to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus and to promote safety of the students and teachers in general. After presenting all the school plans in the Principal’s SOSA, selected SSG Officers also graced the event with an intermission number followed by Mrs. Maria Teresa C. Tagon, Head Teacher III of MAPEH Department who expressed her gratitude to all the parents and stakeholders who attended the Education Summit in the venue and watched it virtually. The programme ended with a unity dance led by teachers of the MAPEH Dept. which also signified the consensus and unity of all the parents and stakeholders for the future plans of the school particularly for the smooth and safe opening of the school for the limited face-to face classes.
