FEBRUARY 2026

everyone’s talking about... CELEBRITIES

BROOKLYN BECKHAM BACKLASH

The eldest son of the Beckham’s, 26-year-old Brooklyn, has publicly spoken out against his “controlling” parents David and Victoria, requesting they only contact him via lawyers as revealed in a social media post backed up by a legal letter in January.

The Beckham feud started way back in April 2022 when photographer Brooklyn married billionairess Nicola Peltz. According to reports tensions grew when Nicola refused to wear a Victoria Beckham dress on her Wedding Day, snubbing her designs for a Valentino gown.

The latest legal letter has shown just how bad things have gotten between the family. Victoria has also been accused of making Nicola cry on her Wedding Day by getting up and doing the first dance with her son, embarrassing him and ruining the special moment between the couple.

It is not known how David and Victoria replied to their son’s initial letter, but it is understood that this was the last formal contact between all parties.

A source close told The Sun Newspaper, “To be clear, this was a request via lawyers, not a direct legal threat. But naturally, it is an unprecedented move which shows just how bad things have become.”

There has been limited family gatherings and talks of feuds ongoing with all the family members for 3 years now. Brooklyn is said to be caught between a “rock and a hard place” with his mum Victoria and wife Nicola and this legal letter is the final straw in making his parents leave him and his wife alone.

Victoria had previously reached out to her eldest son in December with an Instagram Story revealing they are ready to have him home for Christmas.

Notably tied to the fireplace was Brooklyn's embroidered name in his very own stocking. "They've got all of the stockings up ready for Christmas," the Instagram story revealed. The majority of the public response with Brooklyn’s latest claims have been in support of Victoria and David with comments like this Reddit reader who said summed up how the nation is feeling, “Wow I feel so bad for Victoria, anyone can see how much she loves all her children. Brooklyn might understand the pain he's putting her through one day when he has children of

Victoria Beckham hided away for 6 days while her son’s estrangement news hit the front page of all the major tabloid papers. When she was finally pictured out for Spice Girl Emma Bunton’s 50Th birthday on 24th January she was red faced and her eyes looked puffy – a clear indication of how upset she was about the media scrutiny and her eldest son’s recent backlash.

FERGIE IS LATEST OUSTED ROYAL

Sarah Ferguson is losing her 30-room palatial mansion after her ex-husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was forced to give up the home in October 2025, when he was stripped of his royal title by brother, King Charles. Andrew’s former wife is reportedly having to leave the Windsor Royal Lodge imminently and is said to be mulling a move to the US, while she assesses her future

Andrew is said to be moving to a cottage on the Sandringham Estate, where locals are said to be displeased with their latest resident.

BELLA HADID RIDING SOLO

Supermodel Bella Hadid, 29, has split from her rodeo riding boyfriend, Adan Banuelos, after 2 years together.

Bella officially called time on her relationship with 36-year-old on January 26th. The couple originally met in October 2023 and started dating a short time after.

The relationship was said to be very serious for both parties at the time. Bella regularly attended Adan’s rodeos and likewise he was seen in the front row of many of her catwalk appearances.

A source close to the supermodel said of the split, “Bella is doing her best to stay positive and distract herself since their split. She’s been staying busy with work and spending time with close friends. She is still processing the break-up since it was a very serious relationship.”

QYMIRA NEW MATERIAL & TOUR

WHILE OLIVIA WILDE IS BACK ON THE HORSE!

Actress Olivia Wilde has been seen out at The Sundance Film Festival posting a series of sexy snaps on her Instagram, one of them notably cuddling up to hunky art dealer, Caspar Jopling.

She posted underneath the pic, ‘The Invite and I Want Your Sex’ which is a nod to both her films being shown at the Utah-based film festival. But the media are reading a lot more into it. How can you not with that embrace and caption?!

Jopling, aged 34, was previously married to Brit singer Ellie Goulding. Wilde, 41, had previously dated former One Direction star Harry Styles, 31, for 2 years in 2021 after directing him in her hit film ‘Don’t Worry Darling’.

Prior to this she was with actor Jason Sudeikis for nine years and has two children with the ‘Horrible Bosses’ star; Otis (aged 11) and Daisy (aged 9). They broke off the engagement in 2020 saying they grew apart – although her quick subsequent link to Styles caused a great deal of contention!

There was a long legal wrangle into the custody of their 2 children where Sudeikis famously served legal papers on-stage to Wilde at CinemaCon.

After 2 years of being single we are pleased to see Wilde getting back in the dating game.

Following the release of the haunting ‘Shade of My Shadow’ - the official theme from the forthcoming feature film ‘Shadow Transit’ – singer Qymira is set to ignite 2026.

This February, she will embark on a UK tour supporting global harmony group Collabro ahead of her silver-screen debut in March, starring as leading lady Celeste. A rising pop star, philanthropist, conductor, and now actress, the multi-talented artist is firmly claiming the year as her own.

Marking her second major UK tour after opening for Boyzone last year, Qymira joins Collabro on ‘The Harmony Tour,’ performing in cathedrals across the UK, including London’s Cadogan Hall and Edinburgh’s St Giles’ Cathedral.

The tour launches in London on February 1st and concludes at Carlisle Cathedral on February 28th. With her theatrical performance style, classical background, and alluring discography, Qymira is set to be the perfect opener: captivating audiences and winning over a new wave of fans.

RECIPE

STEAK DIANE

Treat someone to a classic steak with Diane sauce this Valentine’s Day supper and impress with your flambé skills. For the ultimate luxury, we’ve gone for fillet steak but any will do just adjust cooking time accordingly.

INGREDIENTS:

• 2 fillet steaks

• (about 200g each), cut from the centre of the fillet

• 25g butter

• 1 thyme sprig

• ½ tsp cracked black pepper

• 1 large or 2 small shallots

• peeled and finely chopped

• 3 tbsp brandy

• 2 tsp Dijion mustard

• 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

• 200ml strong beef stock

• 3 tbsp crème fraîche

• 1 tbsp chopped tarragon

• Thick cut fries

DIRECTIONS:

1. Generously season the steaks all over with salt, then press them down slightly with the palm of your hand so they’re roughly the same thickness. Heat the butter in a heavy-based frying pan over a medium-high heat until foaming, then add the thyme so it crackles and sizzles.

2. Add the steaks and use tongs to turn them every 1 min over the course of 6 mins (for very rare), 8 mins (rare)

or 10 mins (medium). This helps build an even crust on both sides. Remove the steaks to a warm plate and leave to rest while you make the sauce.

3. Scatter the pepper over the butter and thyme already in the pan. Toast for 1 min, then stir in the shallots and cook for another minute until they start to soften.

4. Turn the heat up to high and tilt the pan so the side is against the flame (if using a gas hob). Carefully splash in the brandy. Flambé the shallots until the flames have died down.

5. Reduce the heat to medium and stir

in the mustard and Worcestershire sauce. Bubble for a minute, then pour in the stock. Bring to the boil and cook for 2 mins until reduced by half.

6. Stir in the crème fraîche and simmer until rich and creamy. Taste and add more salt if needed. Scoop out the thyme sprig, then return the steaks and any juices to the pan, spooning the sauce over the steaks.

7. Sprinkle over the tarragon, if using. Bring the steaks to the table in the pan and serve drizzled with more sauce and thick cut chips.

WINE PAIRING

We would highly recommend a full-bodied Pinot Noir from Burgundy or a medium bodied merlot to pair with this Steak dish. For a Pinot Noir, the 2019 Domaine Changarnier Monthelie Burgundy Premier Cru was a Platinum award winner by Decanter Magazine. This wine is a deep ruby red in colour and the nose has a rich and complex aroma of black cherry, black pepper and caramel notes. As it's a full-bodied pinot noir, this wine has higher tannin notes and a long complex finish. Another option is a classic blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, which isn't quite as heavy on the wallet and well stocked in supermarkets such as Sainsbury, M&S and Waitrose. Happy Valentine’s Day Surrey.

MOVIE REVIEW ALBUM REVIEW BOOK REVIEW

WUTHERING HEIGHTS

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Emerald Fennell’s movie adaptation of the 1847 Emily Bronte classic novel ‘Wuthering Heights’ will hit the big screen.

Released on Friday February 13th – this blockbuster stars ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ actress Margot Robbie as Catherine Earnshaw and upcoming Brit actor Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff. Elordi recently got critical acclaim for his role as Felix in the 2023 smash hit ‘Saltburn.’

The chemistry between these two young actors is palpable as you can see from the trailers and were superbly cast by filmmaker Emerald and her team. Apparently, Elordi did not even have to audition for his role in the film, the director and writer were deadset on casting him. He agreed immediately.

Most of the filming took place in the UK at Elstree Studios and the outdoor scenes were typically shot on the Yorkshire Dales. Hong Chau stars as Nelly Dean and Martin Clunes (from ‘Men Behaving Badly’ fame) stars as Mr Earshaw.

The film, made by Warner Bros, will be distributed by Netflix after they won the $150 million bidding war to secure this soonto-be-classic period drama film.

We personally can’t wait to see on Valentine’s Day after our Steak Diane supper!

Actress and singer Hilary Duff is releasing her first album in over a decade.

Fast forward 24 years and 5 hit albums to date it’s been a long time since Duff was in the limelight having taken time off to get married and start a family. She is married to producer Koma and has 4 children!

Duff admits she was nervous releasing new music since her last album ‘Breathe In Breathe Out’ debuted in 2015, but felt it was time to share her story and life experiences through her music. his new album is being hailed as one of her best to date.

Duff wrote on her Instagram: “My new album ‘Luck ... Or something’ is out on February 20th - so much love, late night anxiety and a little chaos went into making this album - hoping you see yourself in here the way I have - I love you and excited is the largest understatement.”

This new album is being hailed as one of her best to date and is available in 3 editions.

IT’S NOT HER – MARY KUBICA

New York Times bestselling author of suspense thrillers including ‘The Good Girl’ and ‘The Other Mrs’ is back with another classic tale.

The book centres on Two families vacationing at a secluded lake resort are subjected to a chilling crime and mysterious disappearance in this unputdownable thriller.

As the police descend on the quiet resort town, disturbing secrets about Courtney’s family start to emerge. When she learns that the town has secrets of its own, it makes her wonder if Reese is another victim in a brutal crime or if she’s the killer.

FEATURES

RAYA

What was once the sole providing dating app for A List Celebrities – Raya is now considered the go-to-dating app for anyone with a celebrity connection. The app is popular with influencers, creatives and high-profile individuals due to its invite-only system, strict vetting process and focus on discretion. It used to have a notoriously long waiting list and low acceptance rate but according to a Surrey Rocks insider “this is not so much the case anymore”. When it famously came out in 2014 Raya was dubbed the "Soho House of dating apps" now a celebrity make-up artist assistant can make the celeb cut apparently. There is a small monthly registration fee of £20 unlike all the other apps that have free versions.

LIKE THE SOUND OF YOU

Taking registrations now this new app will be the game changer for those daters disillusioned with swiping and picturebased apps. The company has promised Like The Sound Of You (LTSOY) will be a better way to connect with users expressing their personality through the power of voice before being judged solely on looks. Finally you can listen and connect with people you truly like the sound of. The founders go on to say “Don’t judge a book by its cover! Happy and lasting relationships all start from having a great conversation.” Join their app to form connections with real people that like the sound of you.

HINGE

Hinge is the dating app that is “designed to be deleted” according to the company’s mission statement. This does seem to be true as it does not encourage subscriptions like Bumble or Tinder that offer and actively target its users with “lifetime subscriptions!” How are you meant to find “the one” if you are tempted back on dating apps that you have already subscribed for forever?! Hinge has a very good point and are trailblazing becoming the most popular UK dating app in 2026. Hinge says it wants to inspire intimate, in-person connections and make lifelong matches.

MATCH.COM

Match.com is the most widely used dating site in the world and has nearly 2.6 million subscribers. It works in the most traditional way: Simply create a profile, check out your potential matches, send them a few messages and then arrange to meet for a date. The love-gods at Match also arrange singles events and provide online dating advice, so it’s easy to see what makes them one of our best online dating sites. Match.com continues to target users looking for committed relationships. The user base spans various ages and demographics, focusing on creating, as they phrase it, "meaningful connections". In the UK, subscription prices start at approximately £9.99 per month.

EHARMONY

If you are serious about looking for that special thing called love, then this is the site for you. eHarmony take this matchmaking lark very seriously, making them one of the best online dating sites around. They’ve even patented the eHarmony Compatibility Matching System. That’s right. They’ve taken 40 years of research to come up with a Relationship Questionnaire and pride themselves on matching users with people who are compatible with them. There is a fee but users and successful daters say it is well worth it.

TINDER

Tinder is based predominantly on looks, with a brief biography feature shown below users pics. Therefore, users swipe with those that they instantly find attractive. There is a tendency for catfishing with digitally enhanced pictures being shown regularly although new photo authenticity software introduced by the app is expecting to reduce these ‘catfish’ numbers significantly. Also been plagued by the reputation of being just a “hook up app” this is the most famous of dating apps that has been serialised by TV shows like the “Tinder Swindler” on Netflix where fake people dupe unsuspecting love victims.

BUMBLE

Dubbed “the woman friendly dating app” – it works in much the same way as Tinder yet women make the first move to message the guys once they “match” so they are not inundated with unwanted messages. It was the considered the number one dating app during lockdown but Bumble’s share price has fallen 50% in the last 6 months with the rise of Hinge and other more dedicated matchmaking services that don’t rely on swiping.

PLENTY OF FISH

Plenty of Fish works by asking users to take a special POF Relationship Chemistry Predictor test, which measures selfconfidence, family-orientation, self-control, social dependency and easygoingness. You’re then matched to those most compatible to you. A bit more relaxed than Tinder and Bumble but not as serious as eHarmony and Match.com. It was very popular in the early days of online dating (2010-2014) but user numbers have slipped of late.

CLUB GORGEOUS

The UK’s first Hybrid introductions service. An affordable matching service designed to sit in between dating apps and expensive matchmaking services. Offering clients some of the more personal aspects they might expect from a matchmaking service and at the same time eradicating the uncertainty and disappointment that often comes with using some dating apps.

SELECT CONNECTIONS

The 50+ Surrey based dating and matchmaking service ‘SelectConnections’ targets people either living in Surrey or who are

open to dating within the Surrey area. This unique and affordable service aims to empower singles in mid to later life who might find the dating sector the second or third time around somewhat daunting. Their network is extensive and they run mixer evenings as well as larger more glamorous days or nights out.

YOUR MATCHMAKER

One of the busiest Matchmaking agencies in the South of the UK. The agency covers a vast area including Surrey, Suffolk and Hampshire. YM clients are aged typically from early 30’s up to 50’s, busy professionals seeking long term relationships. Members complete a unique personality test to help identify potential partners that have compatible personality traits. The success rate has been phenomenal.

THE DATING DIRECTORY

An independent, free – and what can best be described as a “dating comparison site” to help singles navigate their way around the dating sector. The website lists all the best and latest dating apps, matchmaking services and dating events all around the UK. It is regularly updated with news and information and gives singles of all ages a canvass to explore and discover the best possible route possible for them to follow.

FEATURES

ADVICE FROM THE EXPERTS

We got to chat to long-term matchmaker Lorraine Adams, who is owner of the Gorgeous Networks group on her top tips on online dating and navigating the digital dating scene. It’s a minefield so we hope these tips help you in your V day search.

DON'T JUDGE PEOPLE TOO QUICKLY BECAUSE YOUR COMMUNICATION STYLE DIFFERS

This happens so often and means a potentially great romance opportunity falls at the first hurdle. Everyone has a different communication style – this is not usually set in stone, they may be following advice or may be adapting their communication style because of recent interactions. Give them some slack on this. As you get to know each other you can always discuss and relay your irritation about their communication style and they would probably be very open on adapting.

DON'T EXPECT INSTANT ROMANTIC CHEMISTRY

Instant romantic chemistry is more likely to fade as quickly as it started – we call it fake chemistry. If you are fortunate enough

to catch a slow burner and experience the more longer lasting chemistry – it will take you much further into a more meaningful relationship than the instant chemistry of a quick fling.

INVEST TIME TO HAVE A CALL AT THE VERY LEAST, A VIDEO CALL OR AN IRL MEETING

If you are fortunate enough to get a romance opportunity –treat it like gold dust, because a quality authenticated date is exactly that! Having a 15 minute phone or video chat at the very least, with the view to a follow up date, like a short coffee date/ glass of wine is the ideal route to take. Investing this time even if the profile or prospect of a date soes not jump out at you will bring you such huge rewards. Most of the successful couplings up happen this way – with little enthusiasm initially, but upon meeting – bingo!

DON'T RUSH THINGS - BE REALISTIC ABOUT THE FLEDGLING RELATIONSHIP TIMELINE

A rushed fledgling relationship, where one person tries to fast forward everything in an attempt to jump into cosy coupledom is doomed for failure. If you take your time, you will actually end up getting to where you want to be much more rapidly. If you keep rushing fledgling relationships to make the timelines

happen too quickly the other person is likely to run a mile – so you will just end up continuously enduring short-term failed relationships. Take your time to let the early relationship breath and bubble along at a good pace. It is crucial you get to know each other over time. If you feel you are becoming too all consuming too early – date other people too, so that you do not jump in too quickly.

KEEP MULTIPLE PLATES SPINNING EARLY ON INTO FLEDGLING RELATIONSHIP

Don't be too quick to put all your eggs into one basket. Take your time and keep those romance opportunity plates spinning – until the right one starts to stand head and shoulders above the rest!

SET BOUNDARIES WHEN YOU GET TO THE RIGHT STAGE IN YOUR CONNECTION

things about yourself to keep the curiosity and mystic levels high.

COMMUNICATE, COMMUNICATE, COMMUNICATE Keep communication, do not go cold on someone or ghost them. If you have any concerns try and be communicative about them in a soft laid-back way. Don't be too demanding too early on.

Be clear about your boundaries, try not to be too rigid – but be true to yourself. Seek advice from matchmakers and date coaches about the difference between red flags and knee jerk over thinking!

CREATE CURIOSITY AND MYSTIQUE AROUND YOURSELF

Leave them wanting more after each interaction - don't haemorrhage your inner most feelings too early on. Drip feed

AND FINALLY……

The only way you can really be sure that you are going to find someone attractive is if you actually spend some time with them. It feels like an effort to meet people that do not initially jump out at you, but in the long run it will save you so much time and energy, because you will realise how quickly a budding romance can develop, for all the right reasons. When you do actually fall for someone who is so far off what you expected, even if that romance does not work, it is like a light bulb moment that will actually change the course of your search.

Ask anyone who has been in a long-term relationship if the person they have been in love with all these years, actually measured up to their initial expectations, the answer will definitely be no. Instead, they will tell you of all the extra unexpected things they discovered about their partner, some good and some bad.

HILARY DUFF – FROM POP PRINCESS TO DANCE MUSIC QUEEN

Hilary Duff is back after a 10-year musical hiatus! The singer rose to music stardom alongside her well-publicised acting career during the early 2000’s, releasing hit albums including ‘Metamorphosis’ and ‘Dignity’ in 2004 and 2007 respectively. She was hailed as “one of the defining pop voices” for a generation of Disney-era fans.

However, her sound has evolved from those cutesy, teen pop ballads in her early years to more mature electronic dance music influences starting from 2015’s ‘Breathe In… Breathe Out’ success.

Her brand-new sixth studio album called ‘Luck… Or Something’released by Atlantic Records - coming out on February 20th has been praised by music pundits and shows the more mature sound has carved out for herself today.

EARLY YEARS

Born in Houston, Texas, Duff, now aged 39, first rose to fame playing Lizzie McGuire in the Disney Channel comedy TV Series and subsequent ‘Lizzie McGuire’ movies aged only 14.

She also famously went on to star in blockbuster Hollywood movies ‘Cheaper By The Dozen’ and ‘Cheaper By The Dozen 2’ alongside comedian Steve Martin and taking the lead role in the hit Disney movie, ‘A Cinderella Story’ before breaking into the music industry in 2002.

Fast forward 24 years, 5 hit albums and over 10 million album sales to date - it’s been a long time since Duff was in the limelight having taken time off to get married and start a family.

FEATURES

FAMILY LIFE

Hilary Duff is married to acclaimed music producer Michael Koma and has 4 children.

Her first son Luca (aged 14) is from her first marriage to NHL star Mike Comrie whom she divorced in 2016.

She also has three daughters with her current husband, Michael Koma. The eldest is Banks Violet (aged 8), Mae James (aged 4) and Townes Meadow (18 months old).

Duff has been candid about the challenges and rewards of motherhood, describing it as "the best messiest thing ever!”

She often speaks about letting go of perfection, managing guilt and the intense, rewarding nature of raising children, calling it "by far the greatest blessing.”

She has not indicated whether she is planning on expanding her brood further although was quoted as saying that her family “felt complete” with the arrival of her fourth child in 2024.

NEW MUSIC

Duff admits she was nervous releasing new music since her last album ‘Breathe In Breathe Out’ debuted in 2015, but felt it was time to share her story and life experiences through her music.

Duff wrote on her Instagram: “My new album ‘Luck ... Or something’ is out on February 20thso much love, late night anxiety and a little chaos went into making this album - hoping you see yourself in here the way I have - I love you and excited is the largest understatement.”

This new album is being hailed as one of her best to date and is available in 3 editions and has been produced by her husband, Matthew Koma.

a birthday, anniversary or special celebration. With a large main bar, rustic Italian kitchen and beautiful outdoor terrace, there are also 3 individual rooms upstairs for entertaining at the new Rialto Social – your day/night out is well and truly catered for!

Be sure to check out Surrey Rocks calendar pages for their full line up of events including a not-to-be-missed Valentine’s Day Menu running from 9th – 16th February as well as the latest deals on cocktails, Sunday Roasts and new 20 inch pizzas for families and groups.

OUR EXPERIENCE

We arrived at Rialto Social on a crisp Winter’s day and were warmly welcomed by the owner Kiri, and his ever-friendly staff including their talented head chef George and bar manager Daset.

We were offered a welcome cocktail on arrival and went for the most delicious ‘Old Fashioned’ cocktail made with Jack Daniel’s Tennessee honey-based whisky and an ‘Espresso Martini’ served beautifully with a cocoa powder swirl and decorative coffee beans.

TO START

For starter we went for the ‘Traditionale Bruschetta’ which consisted of rustic Italian bread with vine ripened tomatoes, garlic, basil and olive oil. With delicious crusty bread and lashings of hearty toppings this was a perfect and plentiful starter dish - suitable for Vegans and Vegetarians.

Next up we went for the ‘Polpo alla Griglia’ which was a very impressive dish of grilled octopus with olive oil, herbs and lemon. The octopus was seasoned and cooked perfectly –we would wholeheartedly recommend this starter dish, a great addition to Rialto’s superb menu as not many local Italian Restaurants in Surrey offer this rare dish. And those that do – do not do it as well as Rialto!

RESTAURANT REVIEW

FOR MAINS

We got to chat to head chef George Lixandru about his vision for Rialto Social’s hearty Italian menu.

“The idea behind this new menu is to take things slowly and savour the time you have to enjoy good food. All too often people are in a rush, life is crazy, they have to work, collect kids from school and are busy with their day-today life. In Italian they say ‘La Dolce Vita’ which means ‘Easy Life’ or ‘The art of doing

nothing’ which is how we want people to be when they visit us, slow down, relax and enjoy our good food!”

As George put it so eloquently the ‘slow-cooked’ Rialto ‘Osso Buco alla Milanese’ which is also his favourite on the menu - was well worth the ‘slow cooked’ wait! It was our standout main dish of the day.

The Osso Buco/Shank special (seasonally it will be either beef, lamb or veal – depending on what month you visit) is served in a rich Nonna’s tomato sauce with a white wine

reduction, accompanied with a saffron risotto. The meat was so tender having been slow cooked for 13 hourswith its bone marrow adding to the flavours - following it being sealed with olive oil on a hot plate with carrot, onion and celery to begin with for 2 hours. It fell off the bone and went perfectly with the fragrant saffron rice.

Next up on George’s recommendation we went for the ‘Linguini/Riso Pescatore’ dish which consisted of seafood with garlic, chilli, white wine and tomato sauce on a bed of fresh linguini pasta. It was sublime – the fresh fish, herbs and egg linguini made for a perfect main – spicy with the chilli but not overbearing.

There are 12 Neopolitan-style Pizzas to choose from at Rialto Social including classics like ‘Quattro Formaggi’, ‘ Suprema Picante’, ‘Fiorentina’ and ‘Piazza Rialto’.

All their Artisan pizzas are made fresh to order and you can customise your pizza with extra toppings including: Chilli, garlic, olives, sweetcorn, mushroom, egg, onion, pineapple, peppers, artichokes, capers, anchovy, rocket, spinach, tuna, ham, chicken, pepperoni, beef, nduja, Parma ham, mozzarella, ricotta, goat cheese, gorgonzola for just £1.75 a topping.

And go for Crust Dippers: Parmesan, ketchup, mayo, BBQ, mustard, tartar, garlic butter, garlic mayo, sweet chilli, chilli flakes.

Plus, from February 2026 - all pizzas can be made into 20 inches for families and larger groups.

RESTAURANT REVIEW

FOR DESSERT

First up we went for the classic coffee-based dessert the Rialto Social favourite of ‘Tiramisù Classico’ - a delicate blend of espressokissed ladyfingers, velvet mascarpone, finished with a decorative spread of cocoa powder. It was delicious - soft, sweet with a coffee kick to boot. Well done George!

Our little taster of the day – 4-year-old Zeek was the chief taster of Rialto’s famous homemade gelato/ice-cream. He opted for 3 scoops - chocolate, choco-mint and pistachio and chocolate! He adored the ice-cream and finished them all within minutes of being presented his dessert. Rialto have been producing their own gelato for 25 years with over 60 flavours in total there is indeed a wide-range for you to test when you visit! The flavours are brought in seasonally with 15 ice-creams on offer at any one time. You are definitely spoiled for choice. Good luck getting through them all –we are trying too!

Next up was the superbly presented ‘Vanilla Panna Cotta’ – a silken cream infused panna cotta with a hint of vanilla, gently set and crowned with a kiss of red berry coulis. It looked and tasted devine.

HAPPY FEBRUARY

With the January blues behind us, Valentine’s Day just around the corner and the imminent Chinese New Year seeing us shed the Year of the Snake and embrace the energetic Fire Horse, it’s time to blow away those winter cobwebs and look forward to fun times out with a whole new spring in our step.

Think your clubbing days are behind you? Think again! The UK’s #1 day club DAY FEVER is THE biggest thing on the party scene, offering inclusive daytime clubbing experiences which are all about fun, freedom and fabulous tunes.

DAY FEVER CLUBBING WITH LINE OF DUTY’S VICKY MCCLURE!

‘Line of Duty Fans’ are in for a treat… What started as a simple idea between the hit series’ star Vicky McClure, her filmmaker/broadcaster husband Jonny Owen, her brother Chris McClure, pal Jon McClure of Reverend & The Makers fame and businessman James O’Hara has exploded into a nationwide phenomenon, taking day clubs to soaring new heights, with packed venues spreading the fever UK wide.

‘Line of Duty’ star & Day Fever cofounder Vicky McClure

DAYTIME DISCO REVOLUTION

Born from a WhatsApp chat, Day Fever brings affordable, joyfilled clubbing into the daylight hours.

“The first one sold out in two seconds!” says Vicky. “We did Nottingham, Sheffield, Merthyr and Cardiff, and it just flew from there.”

Day Fever, the unstoppable daytime disco dreamt up by Vicky, Jonny, Jon, Chris and James, is flipping the nightlife script. A revolution and joyous celebration where people from all walks of life come together to dance, laugh, and relive the magic of those late nights out, these exciting events have entertained over 85,000 happy dancers to date.

Day Fever

FEBRUARY SURREY!

“Jonny just said, ‘A daytime disco, how good would that be?” Reverend & The Makers frontman Jon explains. “We were like, come on then, let’s do it, and it went nuts!”

Ramping up the energy after its super-successful 2024 launch, 2026 is shaping up to be DAY FEVER's most jam-packed year yet. Running from 3pm to 8pm, this now-established cultural sensation offers the perfect balance; like a proper night out that doesn’t wreck your weekend, where your kids are welcome, too, there’s no dress code, no pressure, just pure positivity, wallto-wall feel-good tunes plus an open invitation to dance like nobody’s watching, with the hangover optional.

“It feels like a massive house party at your nan’s,” laughs actress Vicky. “No drama, no egos, just people acting daft, getting dressed up, and having the best time. It’s about community, people being together.”

From its debut in a ballroom to a UK tour that sees thousands hit the dancefloor each month, the message is clear; people everywhere are craving a space to let loose, laugh and dance, and all before 8pm.

DANCING WITH THE STARS!

You can sometimes spot Vicky herself dancing on stage with partygoers, her ‘Line of Duty’ co-star Martin Compston in the crowd, and you might even catch her or another a familiar face on the decks. Each spirited event fizzes with its own flavour, often led by local DJs. “They’re smashing it!” Vicky grins, “Hits across the generations, that’s the key.”

Keeping the energy high with a nostalgic mix of northern soul, disco, indie, 80s bangers and 90s dance classics, you can enjoy cool singalongs, too. “Manchester goes mad for Oasis,” says Jon, aka ‘The Reverend’. “And if Vicky’s there, we have to play Whitney - it’s the law!”

This feel-good phenomenon sees people of all ages, from their 20s to their 70s and beyond, letting loose on packed dancefloors. “We’ve had Jonny’s mum sneak in a bottle of gin and stash it in a bush outside in Cardiff,” Jon divulges. “That’s the vibe! Bit of mischief, loads of laughs, and not a bit of trouble.”

Striking a chord far beyond the dancefloor, Day Fever’s warm

welcome and spontaneity keeps people coming back for more. “We want it to be accessible to everyone,” Vicky explains. “It’s mothers and daughters, friends reconnecting, people on chemo, people grieving. These are your nurses, your cleaners, your teachers... the people that keep the world spinning, and now they’ve got somewhere to let go and feel joy. We’ve had people in wheelchairs come up on stage and the crowd goes wild. It’s electric!”

In fact, Day Fever feels like a family party. “It’s one big gang, and when people come through the doors, they’re part of it, too,” she reveals. “When they realise we’re just there to have fun, that we’re not up on a pedestal, they really get into it,” she says. “And I mean, come on, when do you get to go clubbing with your mum?!!”

“You leave feeling lighter,” adds Jon. “Old mates, whole families dancing together, people celebrating life... That’s powerful. It’s like a wedding party where everyone actually wants to be there - and that’s magic.”

Day Fever isn’t just a disco, it’s a dose of pure happiness. Because life’s too short to save the dancing for after dark! Come day clubbing with us at the next event on 7th February at Outernet London.

FINE 1917 DINING AT THE IVY

JING tea is proudly served in luxury venues such as the The Savoy, The Langham and The Ivy, where we recently indulged in a delectable dining experience for just £19.17!

Attending the sensational launch of The Ivy Asia in Guildford with Surrey Rocks’ editor Sam a few years ago, photographer Julie and I were blown away by the brand’s aesthetic beauty, fabulous food and creative cocktails.

This time, we checked out The Ivy Soho Brasserie,

where we sampled their great-value 1917 menu, offering a scrumptious two-course meal for under £20.

Inviting us to step back in time to 1917, the year The Ivy made its debut in the heart of West End, this specially curated menu celebrates the luxury and heritage that has made The Ivy Collection renowned worldwide.

For over a century, The Ivy has been a place where stories are shared, milestones are marked, and everyday moments are elevated into something extraordinary.

For starters, we shared the Robata Grilled Chicken Skewers, coated with bang bang peanut sauce, sesame, coconut and lime, and the Tamarind Beetroot and Endive Salad, appetisingly combined with red chicory, plant-based cream, kohlrabi, cranberries and candied pecans with apple cider dressing.

For our main course, Julie indulged in the pan-fried Aegean Sea Bream while I opted for the delicious the Salmon Fishcake with poached egg and crushed pea-andherb sauce.

From timeless starters to extravagant mains and decadent desserts, each plate is a celebration of flavour, craft and the enduring charm that has defined The Ivy for generations.

Experience a carefully curated menu making luxury dining in a premium eatery affordable. Highly recommend!

NEXT MONTH – HAPPY MONDAYS & MORE!

Finally, check out my March celebrity column next month, for which Shaun & Bez from the Happy Mondays chat about their forthcoming gig at G-Live, Guildford, this April, plus a celebrity Sandown racecourse reveal & more.

‘Til, then, hope you enjoy a JING tea, fine dining at The Ivy and have a happy Valentine’s Day!

2026 Hot Stars!

Your Astrology Forecast from PIA TALBOT

Aries

21 MAR – 20 APR

2026 is starting strong for you Aries, as you are honing your skills and working hard on the next achievement. However, don’t fear going through this alone, as there are people close to you that will help along the way. It is unlikely they will be at the forefront of your plans, and will step back to allow you to shine, but nonetheless will be there for you if you need support. Think of something you want to achieve this year. Now turn your attention towards who you think will be best suited to help you get what you want. Remember to trust that other people are as knowledgeable as you are.

Taurus

21 APR – 20 MAY

Being out of control is very distressing for you Taurus. 2025 seemed to be out of your control and it’s time to take the reins back. You know what you like and how you like it. There’s nothing wrong with this. Could you sometimes learn to be a bit more flexible? Yes, but this will come in time. For now, you have a commitment to your values and ideals that will get you back on track. Once you feel you have regained some control back into your life, you can focus on letting go step by step. Don’t overwhelm yourself too quickly. You have the time to go as slowly as you need. Trust the process. You’ve got this!

Gemini

21 MAY – 21 JUNE

Buckle in Gemini, as 2026 is starting with a bang! You are not short of things to do and it is unlikely you will be bored in the coming weeks. This is a positive for you, as Gemini’s worst enemy is boredom. All these responsibilities may not be easy, but you are more than capable of not only getting through them but flourishing because of them. This isn’t the time to procrastinate. More than any sign, you have the energy to get jobs done and focus your energy on what’s important. Keep pushing yourself to be the best you can be. You don’t lack motivation, so keep going and keep being you.

Cancer

22 JUNE – 23 JULY

2025 was your year of reflection, Cancerian, and now it’s time to make some difficult decisions. You have thought through your options enough and whether you believe it or not, are ready to come to a conclusion. Remember how important it is to do right by yourself. It can be easier to make decisions with other people’s happiness in mind, but it is hugely important that you cultivate a life that makes you happy as well. Deep down you know what you truly want, and sometimes it can be hard to admit this to ourselves, but the sooner you do, the happier you’ll be.

Leo

24 JULY – 23 AUG

2025 was a year of growth for you Leo. However, with all this growing you experienced many trials and tribulations, leaving you focused on the negatives and ignoring the positives. It’s time to get back to that almost childlike state of hoping for the best and dreaming big. Don’t allow the pessimistic nature of our world to push that side of you down. Approach each day this year with an open mind. You never know what day may turn out to be the best of your life. Try to have fun, even in the times you find stressful or boring. Make the most of your year and see how a shift in mindset can transform your life.

Virgo

24 AUG – 23 SEPT

2026 brings you a period of selfreflection in order to re-examine your priorities Virgo. You are likely to feel a new calling in your life, but your day-to-day routine isn’t matching up with this. It’s time to connect your outer world with your inner world. It’s all well and good to think about what you want, but now is the time to go for it. Make subtle changes so that your whole life doesn’t change in one day. Take some time right now to think about what it is you want your life to look like. Allow yourself the space to reflect before starting on your new journey. This year is going to be a big one for you!

24 SEPT – 23 OCT

I am very happy to say, Libra, that your pain and sadness is coming to an end. The end of 2025 brought some difficulties into your life, but you are now being released from these woes. This is all down to you. You are releasing the memories of the past and allowing yourself to move into the future. There is a sense of hope about your upcoming year. You are being reborn into a brand new you. If your mind tries to revisit past events, acknowledge your feelings, and gently flow past them. There’s no point in ignoring what you’ve been through, but don’t dwell on any pain you may have previously felt.

SCORPIO

24 OCT – 22 NOV

Scorpio - we need to talk. Why have you been so hard on yourself recently? You should be so proud of everything you have achieved in 2025. 2026 is all about your dreams coming true. It’s safe to say you have worked extremely hard over the year, and you are now going to see the fruits of your labour finally blossom! Don’t limit yourself by dreaming too small. You have the right mindset to go after what you want. Use the beginning of this year to dream big and explore all exciting aspects of your life. You can do anything you set your mind to; you just have to believe it and believe in yourself.

Sagittarius

23 NOV – 21 DEC

As someone who exudes determination and courage, it is likely you have had struggles with confidence, especially throughout 2025. Somewhere along the way, you have felt undeserving of what you have in your life. 2026 is going to fix that. This is a year for YOU. Regain that confidence you once had. Start believing that you are worthy of every little bit of positivity in your life. Why wouldn’t you be? You are a hard worker and a kind soul. However, remember to show the more vulnerable side of your personality. If you’re feeling anxious don’t hide it away. Accept all parts of who you are, and work on a way forward.

Aquarius

21 JAN – 19 FEB

See this as your sign of encouragement Aquarius! Your mind is in ‘expansion mode’ now, leading you to become your most creative and innovative self. You are embracing new ideas and are jumping at the next chance to learn something new. You naturally crave stimulation, and 2026 invites you to produce original ideas only you could dream up. You may be feeling as if you’re floating on a cloud. Go with it. Flow freely without thought of the past. See where these ideas take you, as knowing you Aquarius, it’s going to be an extremely interesting place! Let you mind take over and explore.

Capricorn

22 DEC – 20 JAN

You are a planner Capricorn, and 2026 is going to be all about your long-term view. This is the time to assess where you can best put your time and energy in to get the best results. There’s no point anymore putting effort into an area of your life you’re not getting anything back from. 2025 was an experimental year for you, with lots of trial and error. You now know what works and what doesn’t. Reap the rewards for your hard work and take a large step back from energy-sappers in your life. Focus on the road ahead and not on detours that will end up hurting more than helping.

Pisces

20 FEB – 20 MAR

You are at your most creative Pisces and it’s time to put this into action. You’re getting inspired at the most random moments and it is now too much to keep to yourself. If you are afraid to put yourself out there, just tell one person one of your ideas you may think is crazy and see how they react. Chances are your ideas are actually incredible; you just can’t quite see the vision yet (this is where an Aquarius comes in handy!) If you don’t already have one, buy a beautiful notebook to write down everything that comes into your head. Your potential is limitless. You have nothing to fear.

BoConcept designers reveal their top 3 interior trends for 2026

BoConcept explores three de ning interior trends for 2026: con gurable comfort, mindful calm and curated individuality. Homes are evolving into deeply personal sanctuaries, shaped by lifestyle, emotion and intention. It’s a shift that echoes a core Danish value: design as a re ection of self. The Art of Living Danishly isn’t a look or a rulebook; it’s the connection between how you live and how your home supports that life.

BoConcept invited four designers — Italian architect Claudio Bellini, Danish visionary Hans Thyge Raunkjær, long-term BoConcept designer Henrik Pedersen and René Hougaard of ARDE — to explore how these trends are shaping tomorrow’s homes.

Con gurable comfort: Design that adapts Modular furniture remains essential in 2026. Designed to grow, shift and transform, modular pieces allow spaces to evolve without compromise. Bellini’s Milano sofa embodies this movement, offering sculptural elegance and exible functionality. “As an architect, I imagine a landscape you build at home,” explains Bellini. “Design must evolve with life. Modular systems offer freedom – not just in layout, but in expression.” By choosing modular seating, homeowners gain the ability to future-proof their space, allowing sofas to expand or contract with life’s changes. Ottomans and adaptable side tables punctuate seating

arrangements as movable building blocks, while low-pro le or sculptural coffee tables strike a visual balance that keeps the room feeling grounded and harmonious.

Mindful calm: Acoustic sanctuaries

As open-plan living continues, so does the desire for moments of quiet. Soft, rounded forms, layered textiles and sensory design create emotional refuge, transforming corners into sanctuaries. ARDE’s Aarhus sofa, designed for circularity and disassembly, anchors this trend with a focus on sustainability and clarity. “It’s about designing spaces that invite moments of pause, re ection and sensory engagement,” says René Hougaard of ARDE. Claudio Bellini expands on the idea: “Silence has become a form of luxury. I’m inspired to design spaces that offer not just comfort, but a moment of clarity.” Upholstered pieces like the Bolzano or Helena Christensen’s Ø chair wrap the body comfortably, while wool, felt and textured rugs soften acoustics and absorb ambient sound. Even within open layouts, pockets of calm can be created through mindful placement and layered tactility, carving out restful corners that encourage presence.

“2026 IS THE YEAR HOMES BECOME MIRRORS — NOT OF TRENDS, BUT OF THE PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN THEM.”

porary lines coexist with heirlooms, art and personal objects. Danish designer Hans Thyge Raunkjær, creator of the Paris lamp, sees a distinctive shift: “We see a trend towards authenticity and individuality. People are curating spaces that re ect their unique tastes.” Henrik Pedersen, designer of the Salamanca sofa and iconic Imola chair, agrees: “It’s important to be true and honest, mixing sleek new designs with personal items.” Rather than subscribing to a single style direction, homes are becoming narratives, where modern pieces sit alongside ceramics collected on travels, inherited objects and art that feels emotionally resonant. Warm materials and curved silhouettes provide cohesion, while display systems like Calgary allow collections and personal treasures to take pride of place.

A future shaped by emotion, craft and care

Across all trends, one thread connects them: designing with intention. In 2026, homes are not styled — they are lived, felt and formed through personal stories. BoConcept continues to lead with timeless Danish design, personalisation and circular thinking.

RYAN REYNOLDS TWITTER HALL OF FAME

‘Deadpool’ actor Ryan Reynolds is the master of Twitter humour, regularly publicly dissing his long-suffering wife Blake and talking about life before kids – in too fond a way… in one post he shared to his young daughter, “I’d walk through fire for my daughter. Well not FIRE, because it’s dangerous. But a super humid room. But not too humid, because of my hair.” Ryan is co-owner of Wrexham FC - he bought the Welsh football club as a joke/dare back in 2021 – invested £2m with best pal Rob Mac. The club has recently been valued at around the £350m mark.

At Jonathan Rowlandson Design we have provided a unique design and build service for a range of clients for over 20 years. With an emphasis on innovative, contemporary design solutions we have risen to the challenge of every project, interior or exterior. Combining our unique approach to metal items with wood, glass, stone, and other materials. At JRD we offer a range of furniture items including the Otolo range. We also design and produce items sympathetic to their environment, be it a rustic bar restaurant with an artisan feel – normally providing seating, counters, bars, lighting, signage, etc. such as Dog Star Brixton – or one-off sculptural items such as the tables for Vivienne Westwood. Our inspiration will often come from the clients’ desires, as well as tapping into nature and art to find a suitable solution. Hardly any 2 projects are the same, we continue to provide new and hopefully better designs.
