everyone’s talking about... CELEBRITIES
‘MOON LANDING WAS FAKE’ SAYS KIM K
It takes one to know one, they say! Surgically enhanced reality TV star Kim Kardashian has claimed the 1969 Moon Landing was faked.
Kim K spoke out on her latest episode of her reality TV show ‘The Kardashians’ aired on Hayu on Thursday October 30th that Buzz Aldrin and the Apollo 11 mission never landed on the moon and that the whole thing was made up.
Conspiracy theorists were “over the moon” about the high-profile star using her platform to millions of viewers on support their cause!
However, on the downside, mum of three Kim – has been trolled by staunch ‘Moon Landings Believers’ who think the star is crazy and out of her depth!
The convo with her co-star and friend Sarah went like this: “I'm sending you, so far, a million articles with both Buzz Aldrin and ... the other one.”.
Sarah replied, “Yes, do it.”
Kim went on to explain about an interview she heard with Buzz, “This girl says, ‘What was the scariest moment?’ And (Aldrin) said, "There was no scary moment, cause it didn't happen. It could've been scary, but it wasn't, cause it didn't happen."
Kim then suggested that Aldrin's old age (he is now 95) made him blurt out comments like that, before ruling at the end of the conversation with her pal - “So I think it didn't happen.”
Despite correcting her “thoughts on the fake landings at the end of her convo with Sarah, mum of three Kim, has been trolled by staunch ‘Moon Landings Believers’ who think the star is crazy and out of her depth! This is despite the American flag flying (not laying flat) despite there being no wind on the moon and the footprint would not have been that prominent on the moon’s surface.
There are also no stars in the video, inconsistent shadows, lack of a blast shadow from the lunar module and also ‘Space Odyssey’ director Stanley Kubrick had close ties and “meetings” with NASA - which was allegedly to do with the hit space film he made in 1968.
ANDY ON LOOKOUT FOR DIGS AND BENEFITS!
The former “Prince Andrew” has been forced to go house hunting and get a job!
As Surrey Rocks was going to press the news broke that his brother King Charles was evicting him from his tax-payer-funded, multi-million pound Lodge home and stripping him of his royal title. Andrew, nicknamed “Randy Andy” by the press due to his multiple sexual conquests, is now to be formally known as “Andrew Mountbatten Windsor”. He will receive no income from the royal family as he is now not a “working royal” and will have to get a job or find a new source of income. He also has to find new living accommodation. As does his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson (Fergie) who currently receives a grant and living accommodation from the royals. Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie are to keep their royal titles and homes.
The reason for Andy’s “late royal eviction” was due to pressure from the public and the rest of the royal household following his close ties with the late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein paying Virginia Giuffre (his accuser) off costing the taxpayer millions and the “embarrassing” Newsnight interview with Emily Maitlock in 2019.
The most damning statement from the Palace came saying harshly at the end: “Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse.”
CAR CRASH A ‘SIGN’ FROM LIAM
‘One Direction’ singer Liam Payne’s girlfriend Kate Cassidy has just been in a car crash and believes it was a sign from her ex-boyfriend Liam Payne, one year after his death.
As well as almost writing off the blue Lamborghini on Wednesday October 29th, Kate was given a “crash report” by police with the incident number ending in 4444 – an angel number signifying “positive transformation and guidance from guardian angels” (aka Liam she believes.)
“Tell me how I got a car crash yesterday and the police report number ends in 4444,” Kate said, sharing a photo of the report, to her one million Instagram followers.
Liam singer tragically fell to his death from the third-floor balcony of a hotel in Argentina’s capital city Buenos Aires on October 16th 2024.
Rising to instant stratospheric fame after auditioning on ‘X Factor’ in 2010 and being added to the boyband One Direction, Liam and his former ‘1D’ bandmates - Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Zayn Malikshot to global superstardom status overnight when their debut album ‘Up All Night’ was released. Liam was briefly married to Cheryl Cole and they have a son called Bear who is now eight years old.

MONICE LONDON NEW COLLECTION FASHION NEWS
After making her mark in the early 2000’s, designer Janice Akhtar has re-emerged on the fashion scene with a powerful relaunch of her brand, Monice London. Her return feels like a natural evolution, rooted in experience, femininity and a deep understanding of how women want to feel in their clothes.
“Designing with intention & purpose, I wanted my brand to be timeless, bra-friendly and incredibly flattering,” Janice shares. “Back in the day, I loved backless styles but always needed to wear a bra. That’s where my signature back band was born, a clever detail that conceals the bra strap while keeping the back beautifully open. Women should feel like they can have the support they need, whether they wear a bra for support or extra enhancement, either way, they should feel sexy, not restricted or annoyed that they can’t wear something.”
That signature detail now runs throughout the collection, a visual thread that defines the Monice London aesthetic. Each of her designs is meticulously crafted by Janice herself, a process she describes as both art and precision. “I pattern cut and fit every style personally. It means the proportions are exact and nothing is left to chance,” she reveals.
Her designs balance structure with sensuality. “Fitted dresses aren’t always forgiving if you’ve got a bit of a tummy, so I add double ruching around the waist to clinch you in or a wide waistband to define your figure. I want women to pull these dresses out season after season, year after year because something that truly suits you will always be on trend. I recut my best shapes in new colours, not just trending shades, but in tones women genuinely love.”
Monice London’s latest collection introduces ‘The Imani Jumpsuit’ the ultimate statement piece that embodies power, confidence and timeless elegance. With sharp tailoring, dramatic cape sleeves, a contrasting leather-look
waistband, and the brand’s signature bra-friendly open back, Imani commands attention from every angle. Whether you’re stepping onto the red carpet, attending a glamorous dinner date or hosting a special evening out; this is a piece that ensures you own the room.
Launching alongside is the irresistibly sultry Selene halter-neck dressa masterpiece of understated seduction. Double-lined in luxurious silky jersey, it drapes beautifully over the body, creating a fluid silhouette that feels both sensual and refined. Strategic ruching flatters every curve, while Monice London’s signature back band elegantly conceals the bra strap, leaving a breathtaking open-back finish. Perfect for a Summer wedding guest look, a dreamy destination celebration or any black-tie affair where sophistication meets allure, Selene is designed to make an unforgettable impression.
Elegant, empowering and consciously made, Monice London is fashion that feels as good as it looks. See www.monicelondon.co.uk to buy now.

JOOL’S FAVOURITE BEEF STEW
Jamie Oliver’s root vegetable-based beef stew is one of his wife’s favourite recipes of his. Healthy and full of goodness, this is a perfect Winter warmer recipe the whole family will love. Jamie says, “The great thing about this stew is that it gets put together very quickly, and this is partly to do with the fact that no time is spent browning the meat. Even though this goes against all my training, I experimented with two batches of meat – I browned one and put the other straight into the pot. The latter turned out to be the sweeter and cleaner-tasting, so I’ve stopped browning the meat for most of my stews these days.”
INGREDIENTS:
(Serves 4)
• Olive oil
• 1 knob butter
• 1 onion: peeled and chopped
• A handful of fresh sage leaves
• 3/4 pounds stewing steak or beef skirt: (800 g) cut into 5cm/2 inch pieces
• Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
• Flour: to dust
• 2 parsnips: peeled and quartered
• 4 carrots: peeled and halved
• 1/2 butternut squash: halved, deseeded and roughly diced
• Optional: a handful of Jerusalem artichokes
• 500 grams small potatoes (1lb 2oz)
• 2 tablespoons tomato purée
• 1/2 bottle red wine
• 1/2 pint beef or vegetable stock (285 ml)
• Zest (of 1 lemon) finely grated
• Handful rosemary leaves, picked
• 1 clove garlic: peeled and finely chopped
RECIPE
METHOD:
(Takes 3-4 Hours)
1. Preheat the oven to 160ºC/300ºF/gas 2. Put a little oil and your knob of butter into an appropriately sized pot or casserole pan. Add your onion and all the sage leaves and fry for 3 or 4 minutes.
2. Toss the meat in a little seasoned flour, then add it to the pan with all the vegetables, the tomato purée, wine and stock, and gently stir together.
3. Season generously with freshly ground black pepper and just a little salt. Bring to the boil, place a lid on top, then cook in the preheated oven until the meat is tender.
4. Sometimes this takes 3 hours, sometimes 4 – it depends on what
cut of meat you’re using and how fresh it is. The only way to test is to mash up a piece of meat and if it falls apart easily it’s ready.
5. Once it’s cooked, you can turn the oven down to about 110°C/225°F/gas ¼ and just hold it there until you’re ready to eat.
6. The best way to serve this is by ladling big spoonfuls into bowls, accompanied by a glass of French red wine and some really fresh, warmed bread.
7. Mix the lemon zest, chopped rosemary and garlic together and sprinkle over the stew before eating. Just the smallest amount will make a world of difference – as soon as it hits the hot stew it will release an amazing fragrance.
WINE PAIRING
Making stews like this hearty recipe from Jamie Oliver is an excuse to break out the full-bodied red wines. A Pinot Noir or a dark and fruity Bordeaux like the Chateau Fantin Bordeaux Superieur would be a great option. Cabernet Sauvignon or a Merlot would be a good alternative as they both contain sufficient tannins to counter the rich taste of the stew. For those wine novices out there, tannins are the compounds found in all red wines and they come mostly from the grapes’ skins and seeds, as well as from the barrels in which the wine was aged. They give wine ageing potential and are an essential part of a wine’s structure and balance. Enjoy!
MOVIE REVIEW ALBUM REVIEW BOOK REVIEW
WICKED: FOR GOOD MOVIE
The final chapter of the untold story of the Witches of Oz begins with Elphaba and Glinda estranged and living with the consequences of their choices. Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo), now demonized as The Wicked Witch of the West, lives in exile, hidden within the Ozian forest while continuing her fight for the freedom of Oz’s silenced Animals and desperately trying to expose the truth she knows about The Wizard (played by Jeff Goldblum).
Glinda, meanwhile, has become the glamorous symbol of Goodness for all of Oz, living at the palace in Emerald City and revelling in the perks of fame and popularity. Under the instruction of Madame Morrible (played by Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh), Glinda is deployed to serve as an effervescent comfort to Oz, reassuring the masses that all is well under the rule of The Wizard.
As Glinda’s stardom expands and she prepares to marry Prince Fiyero in a spectacular Ozian wedding, she is haunted by her separation from Elphaba. She attempts to broker a conciliation between Elphaba and The Wizard, but those efforts will fail, driving Elphaba and Glinda only further apart. The aftershocks will transform Boq (Tony nominee Ethan Slater) and Fiyero forever, and threaten the safety of Elphaba’s sister, Nessarose (Marissa Bode), when a girl from Kansas comes crashing into all their lives.
As an angry mob rises against the Wicked Witch, Glinda and Elphaba will need to come together one final time. With their singular friendship now the fulcrum of their futures, they will need to truly see each other, with honesty and empathy, if they are to change themselves, and all of Oz, for good.
Out on November 21st, this preChristmas family movie will be a hit for fans of the ‘Wizard of Oz’ and ‘Wicked’ theatre plays.
A PLACE I RECOGNIZE - ELINA
Swedish singer-songwriter and Ivor Novello nominee Elina returns with her second EP, ‘A Place I Recognize’, released on November 14th. It marks her most daring and soul-baring work to date.
The new EP ‘A Place I Recognize’, is a project born from one of the most transformative seasons of Elina’s life. After years of pushing herself to the brink, the Swedish artist made the life-changing decision to leave Stockholm and, with it, the relentless pace and pressures of the city, to begin again in the quiet countryside near her hometown. At its heart, ‘A Place I Recognize’ is a collection of songs about courage, healing and coming home to yourself.
The album sees Elina leaning into bolder, richer sounds, a vibrant new energy that reflects the grounded confidence she’s found in this chapter.
“Sonically, it’s the boldest I’ve gone,” she says. “It’s been so fun to flirt with the band corners of my heart and bring that energy into something that still feels very me. This project is a reflection of where I am now: more grounded, clear, and finally ready to live in a way that feels true.”
Elina opened 2025 with ‘Never Know’, a song she co-wrote for Britpop legends The Kooks, and followed it with her warmly received EP ‘Under Different Skies’ in June.
Now she invites listeners deeper into her world with ‘A Place I Recognize’, a body of work shaped by courage, vulnerability and the gentle power of letting the light in, also featuring her powerful new single ‘Scars’ - a heartfelt duet with acclaimed British artist James TW.
BRIGANDS & BREADKNIVES – TRAVIS BALDREE
Return to the cozy fantasy world of the Number One New York Times bestselling ‘Legends & Lattes’ series with a new 336 page adventure, featuring fan-favourite, foul-mouthed bookseller, Fern.
Fern has weathered the stillness and storms of a bookseller’s life for decades, but now, in the face of crippling ennui, transplants herself to the city of Thune to hang out her shingle beside a long-absent friend’s coffee shop. What could be a better pairing? Surely a charming renovation montage will cure what ails her!
If only things were so simple… It turns out that fixing your life isn’t a one-time prospect, nor as easy as a change of scenery and a lick of paint.
A drunken and desperate night sees the rattkin waking far from home in the company of a legendary warrior surviving on inertia, an imprisoned chaos-goblin with a fondness for silverware, and an absolutely thumping hangover.
As together they fend off a rogue’s gallery of ne’er-do-wells trying to claim the bounty the goblin represents, Fern may finally reconnect with the person she actually is when there isn’t a job to get in the way.

Below are just a handful organisations that offer free mental health support to those in need. It is advisable that for anyone feeling vulnerable that they speak with their local GP to see what other options might be available to them.
Mental health has its own unique way of presenting itself to every individual it takes a hold of. Meaning no two people are ever the same with what they might be feeling or even why they feel the way they do. We urge you to get in touch to a medical professional if anything is affecting you. A problem shared is a problem halved.

Glenn’s Story
In 2020 my wife passed away after a long illness, MS 45 years and Epilepsy 6. I was Michèle’s part time carer for 6 years and full time 1. After Michèle passed I struggled with loneliness, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem and no confidence, as this was during COVID there was little available support. I had many sessions of therapy, online and telephone, which didn’t help. Consequently, I went into a downward spiral which led me to the conclusion that I no longer had any reason to continue, I no longer served any purpose, I was a waste of oxygen. I got close several times and remarkably close twice to taking my own life but something would stop me and I would contact Samaritans. Two years ago, my niece recommended We Power On, a men's walk and talk group on Sundays on Epsom Downs. I deliberated for some time before messaging Chris Waller. I arrived at the meeting point and I could see a couple of guys, I eventually plucked up the courage to introduce myself, for those that know me this was a big deal and was instantly made welcome then two other new guys arrived. Within minutes we were all chatting as if we had known each other for ages and it felt natural. The past two years have seen a significant improvement in my life. By listening to me and letting me share my difficulties without passing judgment, the guys in WPO have given me the courage to face my problems. I now, volunteer at Brooklands Museum, have become a Mental Health First Aider and Counsellor, and have not had to contact Samaritans. At WPO in addition to Sundays, we socialise together, support and encourage one another. I’ve also made some great friends. In conclusion, this group has saved my life. The main reason for the massive improvement in my wellbeing, it would have to be the men in We Power On. Chris and the rest of the guys in WPO, both the walking and social elements of the group, have given me a renewed self confidence in my personal life and within the group, to that end I’ve become motivated to be more actively involved in WPO and men’s mental health in general.
Now that I've discovered my tribe, I no longer feel alone.
FEATURES JASON BURRILL
AGE: 49
JOB TITLE: ENTREPRENEUR & PHILANTHROPIST
LIVES: BRIGHTON AND LONDON
Jason’s Story
Surrey-born ‘Bond’ star, entrepreneur and philanthropist
Jason Burrill won the UK's biggest reality game show ‘Big Brother’ in 2016 after being the most popular “good guy” in the house. His acting work’s since seen him star in ‘The Serpent’, and Jason’s also known for being a body double in the James Bond film ‘Spectre’ and Marvel’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’. He has experienced mental health problems including Anxiety, ADHD and Autism. He talks about his Big Brother experience to Angela Sara West. “It was a lot tougher than I ever imagined. Like a complete and total idiot, I didn't put a lot of thought into the concept of what was actually involved with entering a house for two months, being totally cut off from the outside world, and living with 16 attention-seeking ‘strangers’ manipulated by a production team and being watched and recorded 24/7. All my life I have lived alone and pretty much done what I want without scrutiny. I was only approached to go in a month or so before the show started and, at the time, was more concerned about getting everything in place in the real world so I still had something to return to. I thought I would just deal with the house as and when it happened. Was I in for a shock! In the eight weeks I was in there, I walked out on the final night to find out that we were no longer in Europe, we had changed the prime minister, Andy Murray had won Wimbledon again, Mick Jagger had had a baby at 74 and England had lost to Iceland and were out of the Euros!”
Were you also shocked that you won Big Brother?
Yes, I was shocked. To be honest, I don't think anyone can or should go into something like that and expect to win (although plenty of egos think differently). No-one wants to get kicked out and hated on, just some people are thicker skinned than others. My aim was, ‘Please don't let me be the first to be voted out’, then you set yourself a goal to make it to halfway and then, if you get that far, you want to make it to the final night.
You own a successful international property business. What is the secret to your success as an entrepreneur?
I don't think there is a secret as such... Obviously work hard, the more hours you put in, the more chance of something being successful. No-one gets very far doing a 10-hour week!
Never relinquish control, have good people around you, trust no one 100%.
What are your top tips for men just starting out in business?
Sometimes, you may have what you think is the best idea in the world, and no matter how much time and money you throw into it, it’s just not working out. You have got to walk away, lick your wounds and start again.
There is no point in putting all your effort into something that's just not happening, be it a car that, no matter what you spend on it, it still breaks down, or a relationship that no matter what you do is still toxic. It’s no different with a business that makes no money. Walk away and start again. Learn from what went wrong and do not make the same mistakes twice!
Whatever you do in life, give everything 110%. If it fails, then at least you can say you tried. If you don’t give 110% then you'll never know if it would have worked! That goes for work, love and life. And enjoy it... There is no point in doing anything in this world if you don’t enjoy it. You can have a lot of money but never be happy… Trust me, I know.
What are the biggest challenges you have faced and overcome in life?
Okay, I had a bit of a breakdown a few years ago. I would
have given everything and anything just to feel happy for once.
I sought help but the system is broken. It was disgusting what little ‘government’ help was out there and the lack of empathy and understanding. I called 111 as a last resort, after a woman in the waiting room saw I was struggling and suggested I do that. She was amazing, thank you.
I have since been diagnosed with high social anxiety, ADHD and autism. The anxiety stems from being bullied at school and putting on a front all my life, an act, to just get through the day. I still do it now. But I try to use autism and ADHD to my advantage to keep everything in order and have some continuity in my life.
What have you learned from this?
I've learnt to say ‘No.’ If I don't want to do something, I just say ‘no’, instead of people pleasing and saying ‘yes’ and then being anxious and worried for days, weeks and months and, when the time comes, pulling out at the last minute. Talk about it, explain to people how you’re feeling. You’ll be surprised how many understand or relate to you. If I can help someone with advice from my mistakes and it helps them, then that’s all that matters.
Who are the men who have had the biggest influence on your life?
My Dad. I didn’t realise it at the time he was alive. I think sometimes we take people for granted or don't understand them because of the generation gap. But I now realise his work ethic, his love and protection of us, were a huge influence. Plus, he taught me to speak to everyone how I would expect to be spoken to myself.
What do you do to stay mentally healthy?
I sleep four hours a night. I need a reason to get up in the morning and that reason for me is work, a project, a job, a meeting, just something… I cannot get up just to have breakfast and sit around waiting to have lunch! I need to train most days to stay fit and healthy and I play as much sport as I can to the highest level I can. It’s good to stay active mentally and physically.
I also stay busy with my charity work. I support the Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice, Starr Trust which supports young people, Raystede Animal Sanctuary, Goals4G.O.S.H which fundraises for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s charity and The K9 Angels.
And, of course, I’ve hosted and walked the catwalk at your Surrey Fashion Week (wearing a matching outfit with a K9 Angels’ Romanian rescue dog!) in aid of Mind mental health charity, Prostate Cancer UK and Surrey’s Royal Marsden cancer hospital via your fundraising platform The Triple C www.thetriplec.co.uk
What advice would you give other men going through a difficult time?
No-one is going to help you if you don't want to help yourself. There are too many people in this world who are out for themselves, are selfish or will let you down. Only you can decide your own fate. DO NOT GIVE UP. Make 10 calls and if 10 don't find you help, make 11 calls. Fight, never give up.
I've learnt to not rely on anyone and to have no expectations of others. Sometimes it’s you, and only you, that can make a difference. Sometimes you have to do things
yourself. It may be because of others that you feel like you do, or are in the situation you are in. So, even more reason not to rely on anyone to pick you back up only to drop you again. Sometimes you are the only person that can help yourself.
Set yourself a goal, a target, something to aim for, and when you hit that goal, set yourself another. Be as strong as you can. Eat healthily. Sh*t food affects you mentally as well as physically. You are what you eat! Check food intolerances. You'll be shocked at what your body can't break down that you've been eating all your life. It can lead to depression, fatigue, sleep deprivation and anxiety. I found out last year that I was intolerant to wheat, barley, bread, peanuts, peas, brewer’s yeast, cow’s milk… 60% of my diet!
An intolerance is not an allergy. I assumed my bloated stomach and energy levels were due to the quantity of food I ate when it was actually down to the content. I changed my diet and am now less bloated after eating and have more energy to do the things I want or need to do. Good luck, be strong!
FEATURES PHILLIP DUNFORD
AGE: 49
JOB TITLE: INTERIOR DESIGNER
LIVES: WALTON ON THAMES
Philip’S Story
At the age of 17 I had my first panic attack in school while doing my ‘A’ levels followed by years of feeling overwhelmed by heath anxiety, sleeplessness, agoraphobia and claustrophobia. I only achieved one ‘A’ level in CDT. However, I managed to continue in education and manged to get a job as an interior architect. Over the years I managed my condition through avoiding situations and making up excuses during my time at university and early jobs. I hid my condition as best I could through fear of judgement and/or being fired. It was a constant battle, and I felt like I was alone in this battle for many years. There wasn’t so much of an understanding of mental health back then that there is now. It was a difficult time. After one bad job after another I decided I wanted to travel to Australia to push my mental health but in fact I was essentially running away. I had a massive mental breakdown there, considered taking my own life, and it took 3 months and pumped full of antipsychotic medicine to return. I haven’t been abroad since, that was 2008. On returning my agoraphobia was worse than ever and I struggled leaving the house. However, I built myself back up from rock bottom to return to work and have been employed ever since and things were going okay. However, the Pandemic and my Mum’s dementia have lately tested my mental health to the limit once again.
What challenges have you faced and overcome?
In the most part I have had to deal with my struggles on my own and have learned to have to dig deep to find a way through. One thing I am most proud of is managing a successful, although stressful, career at the highest level while managing my anxiety. At times this has felt like an insurmountable challenge, but I have always managed to do it. I never gave up on myself and in tough times have sought out help.
What does being a positive male role model mean to you?
The young men and women of today have the same problems that I
had when I was young, crippling anxiety. However, they also face additional challenges that I never had to face like social media, toxic masculinity, global economic hardship and challenges. What being a positive male role model means to me is delivering the tools, through lived in experience, to help young people navigate the challenges.
Who are the men who have had the biggest influence on your life and why?
While my mum suffered from a string of mental health issues that very negatively influenced me, my father was always there. In times where I have been at rock bottom, he has picked me up and pushed me back into education, helped my financially and been a constant all these years. I’d say pretty much all male mental health advocates who have voiced their opinion and volunteered themselves are also a huge influence on me. Chris Waller and the men on the walk he offers have been there constantly for me as I struggle with slowly losing my mum to dementia.
What advice would you give other boys or men who may be going through a difficult time?
I’d say my mental health was roughest on me during my teenage years, early twenties. This is because I had no reference point and did not have a clue what was happening to my mind and body. It was terrifying. This might sound like a cliché, but things do improve, you will feel better and that these feelings are temporary. There wasn’t much help back then, but nowadays there is help available and that mental health issues are normal and acceptable. You may not feel right now that you can see your way out of this, but I’m telling you it can be done because I did it. Just keep going strong.
What would you say is the secret to your mental health success?
I’ve put probably about £15,000 into therapy. Psychiatry, hypnotism, counselling, meditation, read self-help books, you name it I’ve tried it. While I would say that some of these things have helped me, it’s two things that have worked the best. Being as physically fit as possible is one of them. If
you can’t afford or train in the gym, train outside, even better. The other is facing your fears and with that one, although difficult there are no two ways about it. Gradual exposure works best.
Why do you think there is a stigma around Men’s mental health and how could we break down barriers?
I was hoping that the stigma in the schools and workplace might have changed since the early 90’s and beyond. From what I’m hearing not much has changed. The perception of mental illness is still weakness, failure and now with so much talk around mental health, faking it to exploit it. Anyone with a real mental health issues wants to get better. They want it gone and there just isn’t enough support to do that free of otherwise. This needs to change.
What are your plans for the future?
I would very much like to support young people going through what I went through.
Personally, I would love to work on my fear of travel and have a holiday abroad.
WILL STAMMER, FOUNDER OF STAMMER STORIES
AGE: 27
JOB TITLE: SENIOR OPERATIONS EXECUTIVE, ADVERTISING INDUSTRY & FOUNDER OF STAMMER STORIES
LIVES: WALTON ON THAMES, SURREY
Will’S Story
I have stammered for as long as I can remember. For a long time it felt like a curse. People would say, “You will never speak properly” or “It will be harder for you than others.” When you hear that as a child you start to believe it, even when it is not true.
I did not speak my first words until late and I spent years in speech therapy. School was hard, often cruel. I felt like I did not belong anywhere. Sunnydown School changed that. For the first time I felt safe. Later, at the Michael Palin Centre for Stammering, I met people who stammered and realised I was not broken. I was different. That was the moment I started to see my stammer as part of me, not something to hide.
It has not been easy. I have been judged, laughed at, mocked and even told to “f*** off” because of how I speak. And yes, some days I still feel that fear creep in. But I have also discovered resilience, humour and determination I did not know I had.
Now I work in advertising, host a podcast called Stammer Stories and speak openly about stammering. I am not trying to inspire anyone. I am just living my life honestly and proving to myself that struggling does not make you weak, and being different does not make you less than.
What challenges have you faced and overcome?
The hardest challenge has been me. I spent years thinking my stammer made me less, that it made me useless. On top of that there is the way people react. They finish your sentences, joke about your speech, treat you like you are invisible. That stays with you.
But over time I stopped apologising for it. Speaking publicly, starting my podcast,
having conversations where I stumble, all of it taught me something simple but huge: my voice matters, even when it shakes. I had to fight for the belief that I am enough, even with my stammer, even with my doubts.
What does being a positive male role model mean to you?
Being a role model is not about being perfect. It is about showing people what it is really like to be human, to struggle, to fear and to keep going anyway.
I want young men to see that vulnerability is strength, that admitting you are scared does not make you weak. If me talking openly about my stammer helps even one person feel a little less
alone, then that is enough. It is not about preaching, it is about showing that it is okay to be exactly who you are, even when it is hard.
Who are the men who have had the biggest influence on your life and why?
The men who have shaped me most are a mix of family and people I have met along the way. My dad has always been quietly there, showing me what it means to keep going even when life feels impossible. He never judged me for my stammer. He just believed I could do anything and that belief has stayed with me. My grandpas taught me in their own quiet ways. One showed me how to push through when life is hard. The other showed me how to find joy in small moments, even when things feel heavy. From them I learned that strength is steady, patient and lived in the little things every day.
Then there are men I have met or admired who have inspired me in ways I cannot put into words. Meeting Ed Balls and seeing him speak openly about his stammer with honesty and humour gave me hope. Gareth Gates has shown me that you can chase your dreams and make your voice matter even if it sounds different.
All of these men taught me that you can be vulnerable and strong at the same time and that being different does not make you less. Role models do not have to be perfect. They just have to keep showing up, even when it is hard.
What advice would you give other men who may be going through a difficult time?
Talk. Even if it feels messy. Even if you do not have the words. Find someone who will listen without judging. Stop beating yourself up for struggling. Struggling does not make you weak.
Try to see your differences as strength. The things that make you feel broken can become the things that make you unshakable. Owning my stammer has changed how I see myself completely. I am not hiding anymore. I am standing tall.
What would you say is the secret to your success?
There is no secret. There is only acceptance and patience. Some days are easy, some days are heavy and exhausting,
and that is life. Learning to be kind to myself, to stop wishing I was normal, to stop running from who I am has made all the difference.
I still have bad days, but they do not define me. What defines me is showing up, speaking up, refusing to hide. That is what keeps me going.
I am a very active person so even if it is going for a walk around the block or meeting a friend for a coffee. That can have a really beneficial effect to me and my mental health.
What are your plans for the future?
I want to keep speaking, keep sharing my story, and normalise being different. I want people who stammer or feel like they do not fit in to feel seen and understood.
I want to continue growing at work and doing work that makes a real difference, especially in inclusion and disability. Most of all I want to keep reminding myself and others that struggles do not hold us back. What holds us back is believing they do.
NICHOLAS MARK DULAKE
AGE: 35
JOB TITLE: FOUNDER & CREATOR OF START AGAIN
MONDAY - S.A.M.
LIVES: LEATHERHEAD
Nicholas’ Story
I have faced so much trauma over my 35 years of being on this planet. As a child I was sexually and physically abused by my parents, which lead me on to being wrapped up within the care system. Just days before my 16th birthday I was forced to leave my family home, having disclosed to my mother that I was gay. Never to speak to them or any of my “family” again.
In my younger years I moved home more times than I care to count, at times having to either sofa surf, sleep in my car or for a very brief period sleep rough on the streets of London. I’ve experienced the abusive, coercive relationships, been stuck in soul destroying jobs under the evillest of employers and faced numerous other challenges where I honestly thought I’d hit rock bottom.
However, I found a whole new meaning to hitting rock bottom in February 2024, deciding that suicide was the only option I had. However, having died four times and been in an induced coma for five weeks, transferred between three different hospitals over the course of three months, I now live with the life changing consequences of my actions. This being not only mentally but physically, having been fitted with a tracheostomy having paralysed my voice box, which allows me to talk.
What challenges have you faced and overcome?
I can’t say that I’ve overcome the challenges I have faced but more so come to terms with certain situations for me to be able to move forward in life. Everyone deals with life’s obstacles differently but for me personally I find writing has been extremely beneficial. Talking has never been one of my strong points, even before my suicidal attempt. I’ve found a passion for writing and setting up my own blog with the intention of helping others with real if not at times my direct way of writing. Furthermore, I also now have a better understanding of my own boundaries. This meaning I now know when to say no, something of which I didn’t know how to do before. I don’t do things just to please others but because I genuinely want to. I stand up and say what I think (when needing to) instead of keeping everything inside and agreeing with others just to keep the peace for an “easy life.” By prioritising my own needs before that of others, loving myself more and reminding myself that I am only human but also an individual, can I now strive towards living or be it dealing with the challenges once faced or of those still to creep up over time.
What does being a positive male role model mean to you?
In my opinion, being a positive male role model requires traits that cannot be purchased but traits that some are naturally born with or simply learnt while in their adolescent
years by their parents. Or for many, like myself, are learnt over time by tackling the various obstacles life has chucked their way. In today’s way of living, I see it very dated and selfish to blame the way in which one responds or sees a situation with negativity due to their own personal life experiences. In my opinion everyone has a choice in how they decide to handle a situation or be it how they decide to respond and move forward from a previous situation that they once faced. It is from that decision in how they respond or act that really dictates, who is or isn’t a positive male influence. For example, if I was to use my past trauma as an excuse for being rude, aggressive or violent then this would just be repetitive behaviour, carrying on a cycle for many others to endure and potentially carry on themselves. However, as individuals everyone has a choice as to how they handle a situation. Learning from previous trauma and being able to break a cycle in how we treat others lays the foundations in creating a role model, be it male or female. Being open minded to the sexual preference of others, race, religion, allowing for freedom of speech or be it an opinion. Remaining open minded to an
individual’s sense of style, chosen occupation without assuming their sexuality because of it, taste in music, way of living and right down to the political views of another should be accepted with an open mind and understanding. Being able to still love regardless of the opinion held by others and encouraging self-expression are all attributes to what I consider in being a positive male role model. As individuals, we are all entitled to our own views, views that not all will agree with regardless of the subject but views and opinions that every individual person is allowed to have without the judgement of others. By listening to the opinions of others this may even educate many who have no real understanding having not been educated on matters or exposed to the many differences we, as individuals hold. Giving a different perspective doesn’t mean others should or need to agree with you but more so understand and appreciate without judgement. It is these traits that I feel make a positive male role model.
Who are the men who have had the biggest influence on your lives and why?
There are two male individuals who have played an integral part to my life in one way or another and at various times throughout my adulthood. Both of which I’ve known for a decade plus, both through different circumstances and both of which have many similarities such as being able to adapt to change quite easily, being practical whatever the circumstances, open minded regardless of what is presented and most of all, both with good, honest intentions. The first being a Mr Iain Buchan who was initially my partner for a period of time before coming one of my most valued friends. His straight talking, witty sense of humour and numerous phrases that often ring in my ears don’t touch the sides in describing the strength this man has. From running bars in Soho to going back to school to study, to now being a fully qualified solicitor. His strength and wisdom knowns no bounds. And although he lives in Scotland, I know he would be by my side should I need him in an instant with no questions asked. One of his many quotes he recently reminded me of went as follows “Today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday, and all is well.”
The second gent has to be the most charismatic person anyone could ever meet! With a head full of ideas and an ambitious attitude, he simply is one in a million. He
is the type of person that doesn’t just tell you a story, but actually embraces you within that story, creating an illusion full of possibilities, leaving you full of excitement and a willingness to make what was just a story, real life! I regard Mr Joe Davey as more of a brother than a friend. Having seen his children grow, having worked for him and quite recently even pumpkin picking together! Regardless of any personal challenges, he’s a fighter! His strength, determination, charm and genuine love goes far and wide having done various favours over the years for many or from simply lending a helping hand to those who needed it, he would be there. My appreciation for Joe goes above and beyond having saved my life 12 years ago, pulling me out of the depths of depression. Presenting me with the love of my life, a pug called Betsy. And for that, ill always be grateful.
What 3 things do you do to stay mentally healthy?
For me personally I find much mental comfort in writing, be that for my blog or just in general. By writing down any thoughts or problems I might have I feel allows my mental state to have much more clarity over situations or just in general. Writing is a fantastic tool to express ones own feelings and is something of which I often encourage others to do. Be it writing just a list of jobs to do, a plan of action, a letter, a poem or even just to rant can really help one’s own mind, especially if you’re like myself and not the best of talkers. In addition to writing, I find that socialising with the right people to be another healthy way to keep a healthy mental mind set. Far too often people are put into situations or feel forced to socialise with others they either don’t particularly like or really don’t want to be around. By setting our own boundaries and being strong enough to either distant ourselves from those we don’t particularly like or to simply turn down an invitation from friends because we either don’t want to go or just simply cannot
FEATURES
be bothered isn’t being rude but more so taking care of ourselves.
And lastly, I would have to say that giving up all social media in July of this year has also played a positive role in aiding my mental health. Living in the here and now and communicating with friends more directly and meaningfully, out of genuine interest rather than interacting via a social media platform with the odd like to a post or comment has in my opinion grounded me more and again given me more clarity, rather than seeing irrelevant posts, upsetting news articles / photos or the drama of which others may choose to advertise. This decision did not come lightly for various reasons however one that has really paid off in a number of ways.
to be mindful as to who it is we reach out to. A problem shared is a problem solved as the saying goes but that does not mean we need to tell everyone we know of our problems. Confiding in one person who is not particularly within your inner circle but someone who is still seen as a loyal and genuine friend can help shed light onto a situation with possible new ideas in how to tackle a challenge you are faced with, while remaining neutral with their opinion. Honesty is key, even if at times it hurts and I for one would much rather an honest opinion that an opinion that is purely based on what another might think I want to hear rather than what I should hear.
What is the secret to your success?
What advice would you give other boys/men who may be going through a difficult time?
My advice to any male going through a difficult time would for starters be to write whatever it is they are going through down on paper. Although modern technology allows us to write notes on various electronic devices, there is just something about writing things down the old-fashioned way by using pen and paper. By writing these challenges down by hand we get to not only express in detail what it is we are feeling but are also able to physically write down what’s going on in our minds, rather than tapping away on a keyboard to which in my opinion holds no comparison to that of a pen and paper. It’s only when we can write our thoughts down that we can truly see what it is we are dealing with, freeing up our minds to look on at situations in a different light or be it perspective.
Secondly, I would also suggest eliminating any unnecessary pressures or commitments that are not vital or needed to get through one day to the next. This could be favours in which you’ve been asked to help with or going to social events in which you have no interest in. This could be going to the cinema to see a film with friends with the film not being to your taste or visiting a landmark that you have no interest in, just to name a few examples. DO WHAT YOU WANT TO DO! And not because you feel you must because your friends are. This is called self-care and something that should be taken very seriously. Many may tell you to talk, to reach out, to seek medical help but those that are preaching are not in your shoes, facing whatever challenges you might be facing. Many will only ever see one side of you, the side they know. But what goes on in one’s head when alone and behind closed doors could be a totally different side that not many will ever have seen or even know.
Men in general find it hard to talk about their feelings, their thoughts or the challenges they are facing, especially when supporting a family or seen to be such a happy, go lucky type of person. Stepping back and saying no to focus on oneself is not selfish or rude, its self-care. Being forced into talking about potential worries or being told to reach out can come across as extremely patronising and speaking from experience rather belittling. However, please don’t interpretate what I have said to meaning that we as males should not reach out but more so
There are many words I could use to describe myself however, in the life I live today success would not be one of choice. BC or better known to close friends as ‘before coma’ success would have been a familiar word used by many when giving me praise or writing up a testimonial relating to the services, I would offer in one of my two equestrian businesses. If anything, one thing I can say with absolute certainty is that there are no secrets as to how I live my life now. If anything, it was keeping secrets that lead me to the path of attempting to follow through with my suicidal attempt. Not opening up, not talking, masking the pain and sorrow I held onto for so long behind a cheesy smile, limp wrists and a forever listening ear! Forever putting the needs of others before my own, putting on an act to please others simply because that was what was expected of me or more so what I felt was expected of me by my clients of whom id literally bend over backwards for, forever doing favours, replying to messages late into the night, over exerting myself to the point of being told I have exhaustion by my GP. Exhaustion in which I naively thought was just an expression and that of which could be fixed by a weekend getaway. How wrong was I!? If there is to be any inkling of success to be mentioned, then I can only refer it to being in connection with those 17 individuals that replied in private to a Facebook status in which I posted while laid in bed in ICU, thanking me for my honesty and for aiding them with their own mental battles faced. Or be it with regards to the money in which I raised in February 2025 by completing 56 miles for the mental health charity, Mind in which I raised over £4000. Or the many in which I responded to with empathy and understanding while being a volunteer for a mental health charity known as SHOUT, where individuals could text in with their problems for free, non-judgemental advice. Or lastly, that of my blog, Start Again Monday, also known as S.A.M. where I have and continue to delve deep into my own story, my thoughts and feelings all laid completely bare and accessible for all to see in the hope that it will show others facing similar thoughts that they are not alone.
So, my success I guess you could say is that of holding no secrets. Being truthful to not only myself but to those around me. Regardless of the cost incurred, one’s own happiness or be it self-worth is priceless.

Slip On KALM
with Ksenia
We got to catch up with our stunning November Cover Star Ksenia Lavrentieva, Co-Founder & Creative Director of KALMTHREAD, the new glove brand redefining wearable skincare - turning everyday essentials into ritual worthy elegant pieces crafted from intelligent, skin-friendly fabric. Designed for Skin, Made for Style. We’re excited to share Ksenia’s and KALMTHREAD’s story in this exclusive interview.
From performance to purpose, the story of resilience that turned a forgotten utility into a ritual of elegance.
WHAT'S THE FIRST THING PEOPLE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT YOU BEYOND YOUR JOB TITLE?
Beyond strategy decks and business plans, I'm deeply spiritual, endlessly curious about the human mind and how we can rewire ourselves to reach our highest potential. I've always been drawn to psychology and helping people heal; I might have become a therapist in another life. I'm fascinated by neural pathways, emotional patterning, and how our thoughts shape our lives. I'm that agony aunt friend everyone comes to for perspective. I work hard to understand myself just as much as I do others, always trying to peel back another layer of conditioning and become a better version of myself.
YOU HAD A SUCCESSFUL CAREER IN THE SPOTLIGHT. CAN YOU TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR JOB?
It was less "successful" and more "transformative." I grew up in the shadow of my mother, a well-known actress from Russia and for a long time, I thought performing was my destiny. I gave everything to that world, but the industry wasn't as open then as it is now. Being Eastern European came with stereotypes that often limited what was possible. I was even asked to change my name more times than I can count. But that chapter taught me resilience, self-belief, and how to connect with people. Expression and creativity are in my DNA, and though I didn't find lasting stability in the media world, I found my voice, which was the real success.
YOU'VE MOVED FROM MEDIA TO WELLNESS ENTREPRENEURSHIP. WHAT CONNECTS IT ALL FOR YOU?
Looking back, every chapter has been a rehearsal for the one I'm in now. My media background taught me how to communicate authentically, tell stories that hold attention, and merge creativity with performance. Those same skills now shape my work as a founder; they help me build a brand that feels human, emotional, and alive. Entrepreneurship, like acting, demands imagination, courage, and emotional stamina. The only difference is that I'm now directing my story rather than performing in someone else's. Everything has finally converged, reactivity, business, storytelling, into one clear purpose.
WHAT'S ONE DECISION THAT CHANGED THE COURSE OF YOUR CAREER?
During the pandemic, I decided to step away from the media world entirely. It was a difficult letting go, but also a liberation. For the first time, I stopped waiting for someone else's approval or opportunity and began building something of my own. Entrepreneurship became my new stage, where I could create impact on my own terms. I discovered a new kind of empowerment in business: my ideas, not my appearance, became the currency. That decision to bet on myself rather than chase another audition changed everything.
WHAT'S ONE LESSON THAT TOOK YOU YEARS TO LEARN, BUT CHANGED EVERYTHING ONCE YOU DID?
Focus. For years, I tried to open every door, chasing possibilities instead of purpose. But true growth came when I learned to become selective, to narrow my vision, and to pour my energy into one clear direction. When you stop scattering your light, you start to shine brighter. I also learned the delicate balance between persistence and letting go, knowing when something is worth fighting for and when it's simply not your path. Once I understood that clarity is power, everything began to align naturally.
WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO CREATE KALMTHREAD?
The inspiration came from a deeply personal frustration. I’ve always had sensitive, delicate skin, and I’d always try to source clothing made seamless with natural fibres that didn’t irritate but comforted and felt like a second skin. I could never stand the harshness of cheap mass-
market synthetics; they didn’t feel kind to the skin and lacked warmth, softness, and integrity. When I looked for alternatives, I realised that people with sensitive or dermatologically challenged skin were often forced to wear products that looked purely medical with no style. There was nothing beautiful, nothing that made you feel good while caring for your skin. I wanted to change that.
I wanted to change that, starting small and with purpose. We decided to begin with the hands because they tell our story first: They age first, they work, they touch, they endure, and sometimes are the most overlooked part of us. We saw a real gap and a need to care for them better...beautifully.
KALMTHREAD was born from the desire to merge style with comfort, to create something discreet, tactile, and elegant that people would genuinely want to wear. Our gloves aren’t just wellness accessorises; they’re sensory style pieces, soft, breathable, and so beautifully made that you could pair them with any outfit. They turn hand care into a ritual, something indulgent, not clinical.
IN
THREE WORDS, HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE BRAND?
Pioneering. Eco-Luxe. Elegant.
HOW
DO YOU WANT PEOPLE TO FEEL WHEN THEY WEAR KALMTHREAD?
I want people to feel comforted, cocooned in softness and calm. The beauty of these gloves isn't about perfecting another beauty accessory; it's about feeling. The first touch is everything: the softness against the skin, the comfort that settles in, the sense of being protected. Whenever someone slips them on, we hear the same reaction, "Oh, wow." That instant sensory pleasure is why we created KALMTHREAD. For those with sensitive skin, comfort isn't a luxury; it's a necessity. These gloves are about more than function; they're about mood. The beautifully tactile design was made to soothe the senses, lift the spirit, and help people feel good about their skin again. It's that moment where practicality meets a tender touch, feeling cared for and confident all at once.
WHAT DOES KALMTHREAD MEAN TO YOU PERSONALLY?
It means elegance in comfort and purpose in design. I believe a truly great brand should improve people's lives in some way. Knowing that something I've created brings relief, beauty, or confidence to someone's day is everything to me.
KALMTHREAD is about small, meaningful luxury. You give yourself a moment of care, wrapped in beauty and intent.
WHAT'S THE MOST CHALLENGING PART ABOUT BUILDING A LUXURY BRAND?
Finding the right people. You can't build anything significant alone, but in the beginning, when you're bootstrapping, you wear every hat, from product, business and brand development to packaging and PR. It's overwhelming. The hardest part is finding manufacturers and partners who
get it — who understand that this isn't just another product but a statement of quality, refinement, and emotion. Your team makes or breaks your brand. When you find people who align with your vision, that's when it all connects and the alchemy begins.
WHAT'S NEXT FOR KALMTHREAD?
A collection of unisex mineral-infused, intelligent skinwear, sensory essentials designed to support, protect, soothe, and restore the skin’s natural balance. We’re expanding into functional wellness couture, redefining wearable body care by turning everyday basics into therapeutic, elegant pieces crafted from intelligent, skin-friendly fabrics infused with natural minerals like zinc that look and feel beautiful. It’s where wellness meets style, and style becomes selfcare.
HOW DO YOU BALANCE CREATIVITY AND BUSINESS?
It's a constant dance. The creative part comes naturally; it's where I feel most alive, but the business side was a steep learning curve. Forecasts, finances, logistics... all the unglamorous parts that are just as vital. There are days when creativity and commerce collide, and balance feels impossible. You just learn to prioritise and outsource where you can. For me, discipline has become its own form of creativity. It's not about balance; really, it's about flow.
WHAT'S YOUR NONNEGOTIABLE WELLNESS RITUAL?
My night-time ritual. I always cleanse my face thoroughly, apply my night creams, and slip on my KALMTHREAD gloves when my hands need that extra care.
HOW DO YOU STAY GROUNDED WHEN LIFE GETS CHAOTIC?
Honestly, I don't always. I try, but meditation isn't my strong suit; I struggle to stay still, although I always listen to Joe Dispenza's meditations while I potter around the house. But what grounds me most is stepping away, taking a walk, having a deep heartto-heart over a cocktail that reminds me there's more to life than business. And my partner, he's my calm in the storm, bringing me back to softness when I've been in warrior mode too long. He's my reset button. Where I can take off my armour and return to my femininity.
WHAT DOES SELF-CARE LOOK LIKE FOR YOU ON A BUSY DAY?
Movement. I need to move to clear my mind. I do hybrid CrossFit-style workouts and even have a treadmill under my desk to walk while I work. It keeps my body active and my mind sane. I'll listen to audiobooks and podcasts about neuroplasticity and self-growth throughout the day. They remind me that we're constantly evolving and that balance isn't found; it's created.
WHAT'S ONE SMALL THING YOU DO DAILY THAT MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE?
My morning coffee ritual. Those quiet thirty minutes before the day starts, just me, my coffee, and my thoughts…and a few emails ;-)
YOU'VE WORKED WITH INCREDIBLE PEOPLE LIKE TOUKER SULEYMAN FROM BBC SHOW ‘DRAGON’S DEN’. WHAT DID HE TEACH YOU?
Working with Touker was a defining and turning point in my career. His drive, even in his seventies, is extraordinary. Seeing his resilience and hands-on approach to every facet of business taught me that energy and persistence are everything. Under
FEATURES
his mentorship, I led creative and business development for his women’s health and wellness platform, Healthista, an online multimedia magazine dedicated to health, beauty, wellbeing, and lifestyle. There, I immersed myself in the world of beauty journalism, wellness marketing, and digital product creation, gaining a deep understanding of how storytelling and strategy intertwine. That experience was more than a job; it was a launchpad, where I realised I wanted to build something of my own and pour my whole heart into it. It shifted me from being a creative within someone else’s vision to becoming the creator of my own.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO A WOMAN STARTING HER OWN BRAND?
Have capital. It sounds blunt, but it's true. You need enough runway to test, fail, pivot, and build without running on fumes. Bring on someone experienced who's been through the process; it'll save you time, money, and sanity. Most importantly, treat it like a full-time commitment, not a side hustle. Your business needs your full energy and focus. Start small, prove your concept, and let traction be your loudest pitch.
HOW DO YOU LEAD WITH BOTH STRENGTH AND SOFTNESS?
It's a work in progress. I've always been empathetic, but experience taught me to grow a thicker skin. I can be demanding, I see every detail, but it comes from wanting excellence, not control.
I've learned that good leadership isn't about making people comfortable; it's about helping them grow. Kindness with clarity, softness with standards, that's my balance.
WHAT DOES FEMALE EMPOWERMENT MEAN TO YOU?
To me, empowerment looks like peace, a woman who radiates calm, is content within herself, and has built a life that feels aligned. It's not just about business success, it's about thriving in love, health and purpose. When you can influence others positively, stand on your own two feet, and remain soft and centred…that’s real power.
WHO INSPIRES YOU RIGHT NOW?
Jessica Alba. I recently listened to her story on Emma Grede's podcast, which resonated deeply. Her journey from the acting world into entrepreneurship mirrors what I've felt, stepping out of a space where you're often judged for being "just an actress" and building something meaningful in a maledominated business landscape. What she created with The Honest Company was more than a brand; it was a statement of
courage and integrity. I admire how she did it all, leading with authenticity and purpose. Hearing her story reminded me that you'll always face steep hurdles to reach your greatest potential, but you push through them, stay focused and don't take no for an answer. Where there's a will, there's a way.
YOUR PERSONAL STYLE IN THREE WORDS?
Timeless. Elegant. Creative.
IF KALMTHREAD HAD A SCENT, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Jasmine with a whisper of light oud, soft, sensual, and grounding.
WHAT'S CURRENTLY INSPIRING YOUR MOOD BOARD?
Chocolate, caramel, and coffee tones, warm, earthy, cocoa and creamy palettes that feel grounded and luxurious. And always the view from a rooftop bar at sunset, cocktail in hand, watching the city come alive beneath you.
YOUR DREAM COLLABORATION?
Grace Beverley. I admire how she's built TALA sustainably, intelligently, and purposefully. I'd love to collaborate with her on therapeutic, minimalist wellness basics.
QUICK FIRE Q&A WITH KSENIA
Morning or night? Morning.
Creative inspiration? London. Always.
Last thing you Googled? "Luxury beauty distributors."
Wellness trend you love? Polynucleotide injectables.
Wellness trend you can't stand? Mouth taping! I just can't.
What's on your desk? A photo of me and my partner.
Favourite piece you've designed? The opera-length gloves, minimalist, elegant, and utterly divine.
Power outfit? My white suit makes me feel unstoppable.
Mantra? "All will make sense later...sometimes much later."
Instant calm? Classical music and again my partner! ha
One thing you wish people understood about you? I always mean well, even when I'm intense or sometimes contradictory. I've always led from the heart, sometimes too honestly, perhaps, but I've never quite mastered the art of holding my tongue.
What would it be if you could send one message to your younger self? Don't make decisions based on fear or scarcity. What's meant for you is already on its way; it will arrive when you're ready. Trust the timing. YOU ARE SAFE!
FEATURES
WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO SOMEONE STANDING ON THE EDGE OF A LIFE PIVOT, READY TO STEP AWAY FROM WHAT'S FAMILIAR TO BUILD SOMETHING OF THEIR OWN?
Don't just follow your passion, follow your talent. Passion burns hot and fast; it flares and fades. Talent is steadier; it learns to endure. It's where you can do something exceptionally well, even when you don't feel like doing anything. That's where your true power sits. Be ruthlessly honest about what you bring to the table that others can't. The world doesn't need more of the same; it needs something that serves. The real shift begins when your work genuinely helps people and meets a need rather than just feeding your ego. But know this: Building something of your own will strip you down and test you in every way. You will wear every hat and juggle every role; at times, it will feel impossibly heavy. You'll need capital to delegate, or you'll burn out trying. Build a small, trusted circle. Protect your energy and cash; they will vanish faster than you think. You'll discover just how fast money
disappears when every decision has a price tag. But you'll also grow a resilience you didn't know you had. Above all, don't romanticise it. Reinvention isn't glamorous. It's not a montage of coffee cups and mood boards. It's gritty, humbling, methodical, often lonely, and deeply human work. But if you stay true to what you do best, keep your integrity intact, and hold your vision steady, one day, you'll look up and realise you didn't just start a brand or a business..... YOU BECAME IT.
WHAT LEGACY DO YOU WANT TO BUILD, PERSONALLY AND THROUGH YOUR BRAND?
My legacy, above all, is love. I want to leave behind a sense that I made people feel cared for, whether through actions, gestures, or products. Personally, my greatest legacy will be my family, the people I love, and the energy I've shared with them. Through KALMTHREAD, I want to leave behind something that brings people daily comfort and quiet joy, where care and beauty co-exist in harmony. Love has always been my message. If I can weave that into something tangible, through my work, my words, or the lives I touch along the way, then I've done what I came here to do.
For sensitive skin, comfort isn’t a luxury — it’s essential. These gloves turn relief into a moment of beauty.
The first touch is everything — softness, comfort, protection. I want people to slip on these gloves and feel held, not just covered.
KALMTHREAD is a soft armour — elegance that soothes and protects as much as it adorns.

NOTORIOUS PARTNERS
Acclaimed rocker John Fishell and world-renowned flautist Deepak Ram have joined forces for ‘Notorious Partners in Crime’, an adventurous genre-blending album, blending the grit of British rock with the soul of Indian classical music and touches of jazz.
PARTNERS IN CRIME
‘Notorious Partners in Crime’ reimagines some of Ram’s most celebrated instrumental works with Fishell’s vivid lyrics, alongside original compositions and a classic cover. The result is a fresh take on Eastmeets-West, Indian classical music wrapped in the storytelling and melodic sensibility of pop, rock, and Americana. ‘Space Time’ will be followed by a second single, ‘Night in Lenasia’.
Originally an instrumental by Ram, ‘Space Time’ has been transformed by Fishell, traversing time signatures from to 12/8, mirroring its theme of giving
“space” to “time.” Recorded live with bassist Karine Chapdelaine and percussionist Jamey Haddad (Paul Simon), the track is both meditative and explosive, closing with a hand drum solo fade-out.
Speaking on the pairing, Fishell says, “Like a fancy wine (Deepak) with a greasy cheeseburger (me). Deepak’s virtuosity meshed in with my “deceptively simple” rock/pop approach feels great to me. It’s an honor to sit next to Deepak as he plays - sometimes so good that I get distracted and forget to to play! We get along wonderfully and you can hear that in the music like some intangible authentic friendship thing that lives inside the songs.”
“This collaboration is unexampled, as we both
come from very different musical traditions, but is intriguing to create something new. John is an amazing songwriter and has written lyrics to some of my older instrumental work. Working with John on his original songs as well as popular covers is both perplexing, and easy at the same time! John has extensive knowledge of other music genres, and all the technical aspects of audio manipulation and recording, which makes working together a breeze and joy” say Deepak Ram.
STANDOUT SINGLES
Valentine – A jazz-adjacent ballad with a “Summertime” vibe. Lyrically about a man forgetting Valentine’s Day and pleading for forgiveness, it blends relaxation with anxious resignation. Ram’s flute gives the song a soulful lift.
The Rain Song – A reimagining of the Led Zeppelin classic, with Fishell on baritone guitar and Ram invoking John Paul Jones’ Mellotron string textures. Haddad’s unique homemade “witch’s broom” brushes add a distinctive percussive touch.
I Believe in You – A
blues-based original built from the chord structure of Zeppelin’s “Since I’ve Been Loving You,” with a new bridge and intricate rhythmic interplay between Brian McRae’s intentionally “overplayed” drums and Fishell’s bass lines. Hints of Pink Floyd and The Beatles emerge in the layered backing vocals and Mellotron textures.
A Night in Lenasia – Inspired by Ram’s childhood in the Johannesburg suburb of Lenasia during apartheid. Sparse arrangements give space for lyrical guitar and flute interplay, with McRae’s drums anchoring the track.
If I Were a Carpenter – A reimagined Tim Hardin classic inspired by Robert Plant’s version. Fishell recorded it on his new Taylor 12-string after a basement flood destroyed most of his guitars, layering it with his restored 1952 Gibson J-45 inherited from his father. Notorious Partners in Crime is a testament to how two distinct musical worlds can meet, clash, and ultimately merge into something entirely new, rich with technical mastery, cultural depth, and pure joy in playing.
SOHO KARMA SANCTUM LAUNCH EVENT
Review by Ruchir Dey
Notorious Partners in Crime, a fusion music journey in Soho London on October was a delightful evening for a group of 25 carefully selected individuals. When the lights dimmed as the party was a few drinks in, we were greeted to the echoey voice of John Fishell singing The Beatles’s “Within You Without You” as Deepak Ram matched the legendary tune with his flute. It was clear that this was going to be an intransient evening.
Ram introduced us to what he calls “the sixth generation” of his composition “Space Time”. A “mesmerizing piece of music” as described by the lovely girl seated next to me. All in the room were transfixed as he breathed life into that flute, creating an atmosphere which transported one to a completely different realm of reality. In this piece the influences and no doubt lessons of discipline from his master, the great flautist Maestro Pundit Hariprasad Chaurasia.
Fishell soon segwayed into the duo’s latest single “Valentine”. He introduced this as a song for “all men who’ve forgotten Valentines day”, leading to a chuckle around the room and various people nodding their heads recalling the sentiment! Finally, both of them broke into a rendition of “Kashmir”, the iconic song by Led Zeppelin. This experience highlighted the hard-work and detailing they’ve both done to adapt this rock ballad of the ages and their adaptation held its own to the original.
Their musical chemistry shone through in the performance and audience interactions, a testimony to their friendship of 32 years. Their banter reflected the authenticity of both musicians and their obvious comfort with each other, setting
the tone in the room for honest discussions. They recognise each other’s strengths and are happy to reveal their own musical deficiencies, which they overcome together to create their music. Ram, a soft spoken renowned flautist while Fishell being a chatty vocalist, showed how they successfully utilised their contrasting personalities and different skills to create beautiful fusion music together, reflecting both their musical heritage and cultures.
Avid fusion music enthusiasts would recall Indian classical music being merged with western music by George Harrison and The Beatles, incorporating this in some of their albums, like Revolver and Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band. Music aficionados would remember the stellar collaboration between Maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar and Yehudi Menuhin. And more contemporarily speaking, John Mclaughlin and Shakti are the gold standard for this type of fusion music. With John Fishell and Deepak Ram we witness something similar to how perfectly John Mclaughlin's classical guitaring accompanied Shakti's Indian classical sound.
Notorious Partners in Crime is a great title that encapsulates all that this duo stand for and what they bring to their listeners, as John Fishell laughingly suggested they were a combination of a “greasy cheeseburger” and a glass of “red wine”. While I may pass up this combination in a meal, the duo of Ram & Fishell is not to be missed, their music certainly uplifting your listening. I personally wish them all the best and hope to see a lot more from their collaboration.

cocktail made from Havana Club 3 Años Rum, Lime, Mint, Sugar, Soda, topped with Passionfruit and Watermelon Juices.
‘The Whispering Angel Belvedere Spritz’ - a tastebud tantaliser made with Whispering Angel Rosé Wine, Belvedere Vodka, Noilly Prat Vermouth, Orange Bitters and Grapefruit Soda.
‘Whisky Business’ - made with Johnnie Walker Black Label Whisky, Mango Liqueur, Peach, Egg White and Lemon. For Whisky lovers out there is the best cocktail on the market!
‘Cucumber And Rose Petal G+T’ - a light and floral twist on a classic Gin & Tonic, made with Hendricks Gin, Cucumber Syrup, Lime, Rose Petals and topped with Double Dutch Tonic.
On the ‘Bosco Classic Cocktail List’ you have a huge choice of 12 of the firm favourites: ‘Classic Champagne Hennessy Cocktail’, ‘Stolichnaya Martini’, ‘French 75’, ‘Negroni’, ‘Lychee Mojito’, ‘Strawberry Daiquiri’, a ‘Straight Up’ or ‘Blended Old Fashioned’, ‘Cosmopolitans’, ‘Passion Fruit Martini’, a fruity ‘Bramble’ or the South American inspired ‘Margarita.’
There are also 4 different specially curated Bosco Martinis to test out including ‘The Ruby’ - Vodka, St Germain, almond syrup, Chambord, ‘The Mezcal: Mezcal, Passion Fruit, Lemon, Orange, Rimmed With Smoked Salt, ‘The Manhattan’: Dry And Sweet Vermouth, Bulleit 95 Rye, Bitters, Morello Cherry and last but not least ‘Le Citrone’: Bacardi, Coconut Rum, Pineapple and Citrus.
CHAMPAGNE, BEER & WINE ON TAP
There are also over 50 different Wines, Sparking Wines and Champagnes to sample including the finest Chateauneuf-duPape - Domaine du Grand Tinel Red Wine, Whispering Angel Rose, Armand de Brignac and Dom Pérignon Champagnes. There are also lots of different Magnums, Shooters, Draught or Bottled Beers and Cocktail Towers to make your night out at Bosco the best yet.
PERUVIAN & MEXICAN DINING AT ITS BEST
The Cocktail Bar & Club at Hotel Bosco serve the most impressive Peruvian and Mexican Small Plates that are great for sharing on a night out including Ceviches, Tacos, Empenadas, Tiraditos and Bao Buns. There is indeed something for everyone on their impressive Latino-inspired menu.
On the advice of our helpful waitress, Christy, we went for the ‘Chicken Anticucho’ which consisted of flamegrilled skewers of the tastiest and most succulent Chicken thigh with a spicy Chalaquito and Chilli Sauce accompaniment. Totally devine.
With various different ‘Ceviche’ on offer we went for the ‘Sea Bass Ceviche’ which was made with Sea Bass flakes, Aji Amarillo Limo Tiger’s Milk, Sweet Potato, Avocado, Mango and Pomegranate. So fresh, healthy and light – this colourful dish is a great dining option for those that are filling up on Champagne & Cocktails, as it’s less than 350 calories a portion.
With 6 different Tacos to choose from including ‘Conchinta Pork’, ‘Barbacoa Beef’, ‘Halloumi Al Pastor’, ‘Ancho Mushroom’ and ‘Tinga Do Pollo’ – the Tempura Cod option of ‘Baja Fish’ enticed us the most with its Salsa Tartare and Cilantro sauce. It did not disappoint. The cubed Cod Portion was large and the encasing Tempura Batter was both fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. This was perfectly offset with the tanginess of the Tartare and Cilantro Dressings and delicious Wholewheat Taco. A winning dish in our opinion.
We also opted for the side of ‘Crispy Baby Roast Potatoes’ served on a bed of Sweet Potato/Uchucuta. It was presented beautifully and had just the right amount of crisp on the cute mini baby potatoes.
The ‘Braised Short Rib Bao Buns’ and ‘Prawn Dim Sum’ on the neighbouring table looked to die for too. Next time for sure!!
And for Dessert/Postres we couldn’t resist
the famous ‘Bosco Churros’ – the Classic Mexican Dessert was everything we had hoped for…Mini Sweet Doughnut yumminess, perfectly fried with no greasiness, served with the most delicious Hot Chocolate Sauce.
Although we didn’t get to sample the full Dessert menu, the enticing ‘Dulce De Leche Tart’ served with Pistachio Ice-Cream and ‘The Chocolate Turron’ served with Caramelised Pecans & Chocolate Ice-Cream will be next on our hit list. We will be back soon for sure!
WORLD CLASS ENTERTAINMENT
Bosco have the best DJ’s spinning their decks every Friday and Saturday nights including the likes of DJ Craig; who has performed with Snoop Dogg and comes direct from London’s Sky Garden Terrace and DJ Ress; resident at Mahiki and Bluebird in Chelsea. Plus the best in local, from DJ Max Erreira or DJ Kobbie. Late night dancing till 1.30pm on weekends, what’s better than that?!

FEEL GOOD & SHINE
With the holidays right around the corner, it’s all too easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of planning, shopping and socialising. But what if you could swap some of that stress for a real festive glow - inside and out?
Spoiler: You can, with a little help from two surprisingly simple selfcare treats - tree hugging and face reflexology.
FEEL-GOOD BENEFITS OF TREE HUGGING & FACE REFLEXOLOGY
Yes, you read that right - tree hugging! Next time you’re out, pick a tree (any tree will do - don’t overthink it), wrap your arms around it, and just enjoy the moment. Take a close look at the bark, whisper a thank you, or simply breathe in the fresh air. You might even feel a giggle coming on and he best bit? You’ll walk away feeling grounded, calm, and somehow recharged by nature’s quiet magic. It’s all about reconnecting with the world around us and giving our minds a chance to slow down.
As someone who swears by holistic living, I’m all about gentle, nontoxic routines that treat both mind and body - they really are a double act.
And that brings me to another one of my favourite rituals: face reflexology. It’s an ancient therapy where a bit of gentle pressure on certain spots on your face helps melt away tension. After a session, most people feel seriously rejuvenated - relaxed, radiant, and ready to take on the world.
SHINE BRIGHT THIS WINTER
Combining these easy-going practices is a top way to shake off stress and be present as the year winds down.
We all know the holidays can pile on the pressure, leaving you frazzled, edgy, or just plain tired. Face reflexology (especially with crystals for a little extra sparkle) is a brilliant way to activate the “rest and digest” part of your nervous system. That means less stress, more pep, better sleep, happier digestion - and yes, brighter eyes and clearer skin too.
End of year offer
Fancy giving face reflexology a go? If you book three sessions before 31/12/2025, you’ll get a freebie in January 2026, plus a half-price voucher to treat your best mate (valid until mid-January 2026). Every 30-minute session is like a mini reset - think lifted spirits, deep relaxation and a lovely post-session glow.
QUICK TIPS FOR A FESTIVE GLOW-UP
• Book a crystal face reflexology session to really unwind - don’t miss the special deal.
• Make tree hugging part of your daily routine. It’s a brilliant, a no-fuss way to boost your mood and feel grounded.
• Take a stroll in the Winter sun at your local park - top up that vitamin D and soak in the good vibes.
• Give yourself permission for a pyjama day. Sometimes a lazy day is exactly what you need.
WRAPPING UP
At the end of the day, both reflexology and a simple tree hug can do wonders for your mind and body during the festive rush. Make space for these gentle rituals and you’ll find yourself glowing with more energy, resilience and cheeryour best self, just in time for Winter and the busy, upcoming Christmas season.

For colour, soft and dimensional tones continue to shine. Brunettes are going rich and glossy, while blondes are moving toward creamy, candlelit shades that radiate warmth. To keep that salon-fresh colour luminous, our Davines product range offers the perfect companion. As a certified B Corp, Davines blends high-performance, sustainable

formulas with ethical beauty, a philosophy that aligns perfectly with our own values of integrity, artistry, and conscious care.
We’re particularly loving the new Davines Beautiful Things in-salon treatment, a luxurious three-step ritual that detoxifies, repairs, and protects colour-treated hair using a biomimetic botanical filler derived from the wild olive tree. It’s an immersive, sensorial experience that leaves hair softer, stronger, and visibly radiant. And for at-home care, our curated Davines collection is available through the salon and their website, with an exclusive gift for our clients. Every online order on the Davines website comes with a complimentary Circle Chronicles Hair Mask (worth £11.50) when you enter the code HARE&BONE at checkout.
The countdown to Christmas has also begun, and our appointment books are filling fast. Whether you’re preparing for a party, a family gathering, or a well-deserved moment of self-care, we recommend booking now to secure your preferred stylist and time.
And if you already love HARE & BONE, why not share that feeling? With our Share a Friend programme, when you introduce someone new to the salon, they’ll receive 20% off their first three appointments, and you’ll be rewarded with 50 Hare Miles, redeemable for indulgent treatments or money off your next visit. Because great hair is better when shared.
From sustainable haircare and expert styling to exclusive offers and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, HARE & BONE is more than a salon; it’s a creative community where style, skill, and self-expression meet.
So, whether you’re a familiar face or stepping through our doors for the first time, we can’t wait to welcome you this season. Here’s to great hair, good company, and a beautiful winter ahead.

Your november Astrology Forecast from PIA TALBOT november 2025 Hot Stars!
Aries
21 MAR – 20 APR
You have a power in you ready to start fresh this month, Aries. It seems you lost hope recently and are only now able to imagine a new life. Let these new thoughts and feelings flow through you freely. You may even find that you have been stalling creating your fresh start as you’re scared to take that first step. Don’t let your fear get the better of you. Take the leap and trust that you will always have your gut instinct to keep you on the right path. Once you are able to begin your new journey, consistency will be key. Make sure to keep batting away those negative thoughts trying to keep you in your cave. Sustainable results are coming your way.
Taurus
21 APR – 20 MAY
Giving to others will be a common theme for you this month, Taurus. Charity is incredibly important to you, therefore helping those who are less fortunate will bring you lots of joy. This will have different meanings for everyone, so search within and try and find ways you can help people who need it. However, you may find some conflict has been happening around you recently. Remember, you cannot help those who refuse to help themselves. Don’t let their chaotic energy stop you from living your life. Finally, it may be time to re-think an idea that has been on your mind for a while. It’s not wrong, but it isn’t quite ready just yet. Tweak it ever so slightly and you’ll be onto a winner!
Gemini
22 MAY – 21 JUNE
You may find yourself revisiting past memories this month, Gemini. In order to move forward, it’s best to reflect on what you want and what you are willing to sacrifice to get it. Everyone needs boundaries and has aspects of their life they need to keep protected, so don’t be afraid to stand your ground. November is full of possibilities for you! There isn’t just one thing for you to read about here, as there are so many areas of your life that are open to change. Keep an open mind and accept opportunities that come your way. However, in your haste for change, don’t forget to take care of yourself. You may feel ready, but remember to protect your peace, in whatever way is important to you. There’s no rush; you have time.
Cancer
22 JUNE – 23 JULY
Direct communication is your friend this month, Cancerian. Don’t beat around the bush. If you need to have a serious talk with someone, give them the respect they deserve by saying it as it is. You are a natural leader, and people trust you will put your own ego aside to help the greater good. If there’s a situation you feel uncomfortable about, remember who you are and what you stand for. Others look to you for guidance. Finally, your creativity is flourishing in November. If you feel you need an outlet for your emotions, use your creative skills to process how you’re feeling. Whether it be drawing, painting, writing, music, etc allow time to take over and lead you towards what you need to express.
Leo
24 JULY – 23 AUG
Passion is your word for the month, Leo! Whatever you choose to do, and whoever you choose to spend time with, make sure passion is at the forefront of your mind. This isn’t the time to do anything in halves; put your all into your life. You may be feeling an information overload at the moment, which is why leading with your heart is the right thing to do. If you start to feel overwhelmed, make life simpler and just focus on what you want. If you’re happy (and not hurting anyone), you can’t go wrong. Finally, you are naturally a competitive person, therefore a healthy dose of competition will do you some good. Look for a way to compete against a past version of yourself. Only judge who you are based on who you used to be.
Virgo
24 AUG – SEPT 3
A new relationship is coming your way Virgo! Whether something romantic is about to blossom, or a new friendship is approaching, get ready for someone special to enter your life. This is your time to embrace a brand-new connection. This month isn’t only about someone else though, November brings you time to discover who you are at this moment. We are constantly changing and evolving, and you have been though a lot of transition recently. Search inward to figure out who you are becoming. Finally, certain aspects of your life are coming to a completion. Allow them to go without a fuss. It’s time to embrace everything new this month, and certain things just aren’t working for you anymore. Keep an eye out for the number 24.
Libra
24 SEPT – 23 OCT
Practise gratitude this month, Libra. You may find you have a tendency to focus only on the negatives in life, but there is so much for you to be grateful for. Write down a list of everything you are proud of and feel happy about. You have a fire and strength within you this November. Luckily, you are someone who can find contentment in the small moments in life. Therefore, combining this fire and excitement for what life could bring, you are about to make some bold moves. There are many aspects to who you are. However, this often means you may feel that others don’t quite understand who you truly are deep down. You have your own ideas about how other people perceive you, but maybe it’s time to embrace who you are without caring what others think…
SCORPIO
24 OCT – 22 NOV
Try not to become too dependent on others, Scorpio. It is often natural for you to reject independence and rely on the comfort of your loved ones. It’s wonderful you have people you care about so much but remember to branch out on your own sometimes and get out of your comfort zone. It’s time to step away from the day-to-day tasks and take a look at the bigger picture. Celebrate everything you have already achieved and think about your progress. Are you on track for success? November is a month for you to be alone. This doesn’t mean isolating yourself from everyone you know but rather spending time getting to know who you truly are without the outside noise. Go inward and do some soulsearching.
Sagittarius
23 NOV – 21 DEC
November is all about focusing on business, Sagittarius. Work life is going to be important to you, as you start to achieve many goals. Keep your head down and get onto the next step in your professional life. With all these ‘real world’ matters happening, you may be feeling disconnected from your intuition. Don’t worry, as this will come back very soon. Whenever you can, try to listen to your gut instinct and let your emotions guide you. You’re a generous person and feel happiest when you know you’re helping others. Use this generosity in the coming weeks to give back to those who have helped you recently. Your unique talents bring such joy to the people in your life.
Capricorn
22 DEC – 20 JAN
You’re a diplomatic person, Cap, and this month is allowing you to showcase this skill. Remaining calm is going to be your best friend. Even though you have more emotions than people realise, keeping a level head and seeing all sides to a situation will help you tremendously. However, you must also remember to include self-care into your daily routine. You can’t stay grounded without a bit of pampering too. Show some love towards yourself and know that you are important just as you are. November asks you to act strategically and not get too overwhelmed. Suss situations out for yourself and don’t let your emotions get the better of you. Take your time and work out the best way forward for you.

Aquarius
21 JAN – 19 FEB
If you feel you have a lack of direction, Aquarius, November is the time to try something new. Shock yourself by starting something completely different than what you are used to. Through all of this action, you will find a brand-new direction. It is likely people will want to offer you help this month; and you are ready to accept graciously. This will allow you to get back on your feet, and eventually you will pay their kindness back. Finding out ways to become more self-sufficient will be important after this help. Finally, make sure to pause in the coming weeks. You’re normally so full steam ahead that you forget to enjoy where you are now. Relax and allow everything to unfold.
Pisces
20 FEB – 20 MAR
It seems you may be taking a lack of accountability, Pisces. There are times in life to relax, and there are times to reflect on our own actions; for you it is the latter. If a situation has unfolded recently, think about how you reacted and if there was anything you would have now done differently. Pressure doesn’t normally suit your character, but this month brings you visibility and an audience that will bring you pressure that you’re ready for! Others are going to see your success and will make their own conclusion about you. You can’t please everyone, so take pride in what you do and remember how you feel about yourself. Try to live a holistic approach to life in November. Create your own stability in all of this change. Make life your own.

Experience the Art of Living Danishly
New AW25 collection unveiled with BoConcept
BoConcept invites you to explore The Art of Living Danishly through its visionary AW25 collection. Under the artistic direction of Helena Christensen, BoConcept presents collaborations with celebrated designers CLAUDIO BELLINI Studio, ARDE, Says Who and Morten Georgsen. The result is a compelling blend of comfort, craftsmanship, elegance, and sustainability.
Danish Design with Italian Soul
The Milano sofa and coffee-table series marks a bold collaboration between BoConcept and CLAUDIO BELLINI Studio. Merging Danish minimalism with Italian elegance, Milano translates architectural poise into tactile living. For Bellini, a sofa is not just a seat—it’s “a landscape you build at home.” With its modular system, Milano supports endless con gurations, offering xed or free cushions, armrests and backrests of equal height to convey visual lightness. Bellini’s Italian warmth balances BoConcept’s Scandinavian clarity, resulting in a sculptural presence grounded in everyday luxury. The Milano collection offers longevity in both form and intent – furniture designed not just to be seen, but lived in.
Helena Christensen’s Debut: Ø Lounge
Chair
Helena Christensen introduces the Ø lounge chair—a spacious cocoon-like sanctuary inspired by Danish island life. Neither sofa nor traditional armchair, Ø blends oversized form with enveloping comfort. Launching in Lucca, a richly textured fabric designed exclusively by Helena, Ø invites tactile and sensory respite. Accompanying the lounge chair is an expanded Flora capsule of accessories: enlarged oral artworks, sculptural ower forms, a ceramic vase, a hand-tufted rug in ‘Celestial Yellow’, and a series of soft “Teddy” cushions in warm tones. These pieces re ect Helena’s passion for vintage aesthetics, organic shapes and personalisation—transforming interiors into expressions of nature, art and comfort.
Bedrooms Reimagined: Element & Bolzano Suites
BoConcept rede nes bedroom living with two new suite-style collections: Element and Bolzano, each re ecting the rising trend for holistic bedroom environments. Element emphasises modularity and clean Scandinavian form: customisable bed frames, headboards in wood or upholstery, night stands and

dressers. Architect Morten Georgsen stresses personalisation without compromise. In contrast, Bolzano embraces sensorial calm and curved elegance. Softly upholstered, cocoon-like headboards, matte nishes and fabric-wrapped bases. Bolzano is more than functional—it’s an emotional retreat, designed to soothe and centre in the face of digital overload.
ARDE’s Aarhus Sofa: The Circular Statement
From ARDE and René Hougaard comes the Aarhus sofa—an exercise in sustainable Scandinavian design. Designed for complete disassembly, devoid of glue, and built around steel springs rather than hard-to-recycle foam, Aarhus offers modular re-upholstery. With visible craftsmanship—warm wood trim, soft rounded silhouette, sculptural arms—the sofa is both timeless and contemporary. Matching coffee and side tables continue the same aesthetic, avoiding UV lacquers in favour of natural nishes. The result: furniture that balances elegance, utility and longevity.

At Jonathan Rowlandson Design we have provided a unique design and build service for a range of clients for over 20 years. With an emphasis on innovative, contemporary design solutions we have risen to the challenge of every project, interior or exterior. Combining our unique approach to metal items with wood, glass, stone, and other materials. At JRD we offer a range of furniture items including the Otolo range. We also design and produce items sympathetic to their environment, be it a rustic bar restaurant with an artisan feel – normally providing seating, counters, bars, lighting, signage, etc. such as Dog Star Brixton – or one-off sculptural items such as the tables for Vivienne Westwood. Our inspiration will often come from the clients’ desires, as well as tapping into nature and art to find a suitable solution. Hardly any 2 projects are the same, we continue to provide new and hopefully better designs.
