ROYAL NAVY VISIT INSPIRES STUDENTS WITH REAL-WORLD CAREER INSIGHT

The Royal Navy Attract Team visited Peterborough College, to give students across all Uniformed Public Service and Air and Defence courses a hands-on insight into careers within the Royal Navy and the wider Armed Forces.

EARLY YEARS T LEVEL STUDENTS EXPERIENCE

EDUCATION TASTER DAY AT ANGLIA RUSKIN UNIVERSITY

Year 2 Early Years T Level students recently visited Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) Peterborough for an engaging Education Taster Day, giving them valuable insight into the skills and knowledge required to become a teacher.

Throughout the day, students explored key aspects of the profession, including session planning, using resources effectively to support children’s learning, and developing strategies to create positive and engaging learning environments.

ART AND DESIGN STUDENT CREATIVELY PROMOTES SPORT STUDIES

Level 3 Art and Design student, River, chose the Sports department as part of an ongoing collaboration project.

Students within Art and Design have been tasked with a live brief to produce a series of bespoke artworks designed to promote and visually elevate a different department area. River is a passionate artist and wanted to paint a dynamic pose to challenge themselves. Talking about the piece, River said ‘Sport offers dynamism in movement I wanted to capture. The act of striking a football creates a powerful image.’

THRIVE STUDENTS RESTORE MEMORIAL BENCHES IN MEANINGFUL PROJECT

Students are working on a special project this term, restoring three memorial benches in the garden at Stamford College’s Skills for Work and Living houses.

The Thrive programme, which began last year, supports young people who have been out of education or have found it difficult to engage due to anxiety or mental health challenges. The course focuses on building communication, resilience, and confidence through practical, creative projects that develop transferable skills.

MUSIC STUDENTS KICK OFF FESTIVE SEASON WITH STAMFORD CHRISTMAS MARKET PERFORMANCES

Stamford College is buzzing from the truly amazing performances delivered by our music students at the Stamford Christmas Market.

The impact of their performance was recognised by Amanda Wheeler, Mayor of Stamford, who praised the students, saying, “Stamford College students were fabulous, thank you so much! I was lucky to catch quite a lot of their performances and what a talented group of students you have.”

DIGITAL MARKETING STUDENTS GAIN REAL CLIENT EXPERIENCE WITH SYCAMORE ROYAL ENFIELD

Level 5 Digital Marketing students at University Centre Peterborough (UCP) are taking their learning beyond the classroom as they begin work on a live Christmas marketing campaign for local business Sycamore Royal Enfield.

Students Helen, Rumana and Priya visited the dealership this week to meet with Sales Manager Dan, who introduced them to the brief and outlined the business objectives for the upcoming festive season. The students will now develop a full campaign strategy, applying the skills and knowledge gained throughout their course to a real client project.
